Regular eye exams are invaluable in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing diseases. Some diseases, such as cataracts and glaucoma, develop gradually without causing pain or vision loss, so patients may not notice anything is wrong until significant damage has been done. Early detection of eye diseases can allow for a choice of treatment options and reduce the risk of permanent eye damage.
Cataract Surgery is the removal of the natural lens of the eye that has developed an opacification, which is referred to as a cataract. Corneal Transplantation, also known as corneal grafting, is a surgical procedure where a damaged or diseased cornea is replaced by a donated cornea. Glaucoma Surgery improves the flow of fluid out of the eye, resulting in lower eye pressure.
If you are over the age of 60, chances are you have some clouding of the eye's natural lens - also known as a cataract. Early changes may not disturb vision, but over time cataracts typically result in blurred or fuzzy vision and sensitivity to light. People with severe cataracts often say they feel as if they're looking through a piece of wax paper.
An Ophthalmologist is a physician, a doctor of medicine. They are educated and trained to perform comprehensive medical eye examinations, surgery, and prescribe medications. Dr. Statesir provides comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions, eye surgery, laser surgeries, and contact lens fitting and services.

Report
Dr. Statesir and his staff are a class act - they took me in for a last minute appointment after I (embarrassingly) lacerated my eye while working out. The office was lovely and I felt so comfortable the entire time I was there. It was hardly a wait at all and Dr. Statesir answered all of my questions thoroughly throughout the appointment. He does excellent patient education (I’m a nurse so I can say this!). If you are seeking a new opthalmologist, this is the office you should go to - you will be well cared for here.
