Hong's Garden Restaurant is locally owned and operated by Zhao and Min, known by locals as Joe and Monica (it's much easier to pronounce!). After managing a Chinese restaurant in Del Mar California for 20 years and working as a sushi chef in Hawaii before that, the Zhaos realized their dream and opened Hong's Garden Restaurant in Bayfield, Colorado in July of 2012.

Joe and Monica take pride in offering a large variety of freshly prepared and popular Chinese dishes for your enjoyment in their clean and comfortable dine-in restaurant. They offer fast, friendly service, and welcome you and your family to join them for lunch or dinner!

They did not have the buffet up and running in August. They serve generous portions of very tasty Chinese American food. We ate there three times in three weeks, during our stay at Valecito Resort. Can't wait for next year !

Best Chinese we had in the Durango area. A little drive but the yumminess was worth it.

Very good. We drive up from New Mexico to eat here. No dissatisfaction at all. This was the fifth time eating here and just as wonderful as the first time. Very clean and the food is fresh and hot. We'll be coming back again.

Here on vacation. Our Airbnb host suggested this as one of the restaurants to try. Glad we did. Service was amazing and food was very good. Had a good flavor! Had to ask for a to go box. Highly Recommend!

Hong's is one of our favorite places to eat in Bayfield! Their customer service is phenomenal! At this restaurant, they are consistent with the recipes...good every time. Portions are big... I always have enough for lunch the next day.

We stopped here for lunch while passing through town. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes and the super friendly staff. I had the lunch serving of General Tso’s chicken and I was shocked when a heaping plate of freshly prepared food arrived at the table. It was absolutely delicious and, for the price, an awesome deal! I will definitely return to this location in the future.

Friendly, kind staff and delicious food with generous portions!! Highly recommend to anyone in the Bayfield area. They have a large menu with plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, which is great for anyone with dietary restrictions. I ordered the hot orange tofu!

Awesome! Great tasting food and awesome service. Friendly staff and very polite. We ordered Sweet and sour shrimp and twice cooked pork and it was surprisingly very good! Disnt expect to find a good restaurant in that area. Overall great experience!

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended. Their lunch buffet is outstanding. They offer a large variety and is always very fresh. I especially love Monica and Joe, the owners. They make us feel like family every time we dine there. I guarantee you will love this restaurant, too.

Had the lunch buffet, everything was delicious. The bbq pork yummy! Great crispy spring rolls good balance of vegetables. They have take out, we will definitely be coming here again! Family friendly, attentive wait staff, clean and reasonably priced.

Great, clean little buffet in Bayfield. Went on a Friday for lunch and had a great experience. Not a huge selection, but I'll take a small selection when the options are all tasty and the place is clean, with attentive management and waitstaff.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hong's. I ate here for dinner. The restaurant was very clean and the service was fantastic. Everyone was polite and we never had to ask for anything. The dinner combinations come with soup, appetizers and an entree. Great portions and fortune cookies at the end. No complaints.

Great food, good people. If you want your food spicy this is the place. They let you pick "how hot" you want your food. This is my favorite place to eat in Bayfield.

This is a small out of the way restaurant that is well worth the diversion. We ordered the General Tso chicken and orange chicken. Besides coming out in very generous portions, the chicken was fried to perfection. The service and price all add to this being one of our new favorite stops.

Ate here on our way to Pagosa Springs from Durango airport. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous! And the owners were so sweet - wish we had this restaurant in Tucson :). Every dish was delicious!

Hong's Garden is clean, well kept and fresh since Joe and Monica took over last year. The service is fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious weather eating in or take out. Don't want a dish spicy just let them know or visa versa! We eat there quite a few times a month and we haven't been disappointed!

Last year I had posted a review that was not complimentary to Hongs Garden. They have new owners now and we tried it again. It was the difference between night and day. The food was fresh and flavorful, we LOVED it and will be back! So glad to see the change in this restaurant. Welcome new owners!

We were actually pretty impressed with Hong's Garden. We order the Orange Chicken all the time and are happy with the portion size and food itself. I wasn't totally sold on the fried wontons.

It's nice to have more options in town.
