Jose is originally from Cuautla, Jalisco. He emigrated to the United States in 1978, and once he established himself in Washington State, he first began working as a dishwasher. He offered to be a helper in the kitchen during his time off - and he did it for free! He did this because not only was he a tireless worker, but because he loved to cook and had a desire to learn about cooking due to his love of the profession.

Bring your friends down to Tequila's Mexican Restaurant for a drink while watching the game on our big screen TVs. Happy hour is from 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM and is available at the Durango location only. It includes deals such as $5.25 for the house margarita, bottled or domestic beer for $2.00, and appetizers at 50% OFF (which includes cheese nachos, chicken taquitos, cheese crispy, cheese quesadilla and Mexican pizza).

Service was pretty slow at first but then a big family left and it got quicker. My water glass was the dirtiest I've ever seen. Just gross black stuff all over the inside of the glass. That's how our experience started and quite honestly we wanted to leave. Things turned around for us because the food was fantastic. Probably the best carne asada my wife and I ever had. The chips and salsa were good as well. Mistakes happen but if it weren't for those and the screaming baby all through dinner, I'd give 5 stars.

I understand short staffing I do. So I'm going to let that part go. Our server never smiled. Out of 4 of us, two out of our 4 meals were cold or just warm. Had to wait to get silverware and napkins 5 minutes after our meals showed up. If your visiting from out of state I don't recommend this place. They catered the large family that took up half a room cause they were local. The kids were unruley. No thank you for coming from the waiter.

Very solid tex mex spot in town! Food was good and served in very generous portions, prices were fair, and our waiter was spot on.
The only let down was the frozen marg — it was just way too subtle on all fronts.
Overall, a worthy stop if you want to escape the regional theme of hatch chile everything.

First, let me point out that at a restaurant named “Tequilas” you should expect that they would have an extensive tequila selection… they do not even have a tequila list, so that started off as a bit of a disappointment for the ones in our party that wanted a unique tequila experience.
Our waiter started out very nice when he greeted us, but in taking our drink order, he only got to half of the table, then the girl brought chips and salsa and set them on our table and our waiter just walked away. He did not come back for several minutes with the waters and we had to ask to finish our drink

The food is absolutely amazing, the portions are huge and the flavors are the best. I had the grande combination ( its a pick and choose among several things) I had the chimichanga with picadilla, (shredded beef) the crispy chili rellenó and a chicken enchilada. My wife had the sampler combo and what I tested was amazing.

Although the menu is in black and white and a little hard to read, you can scan the bar code and use their online menu to see it more clearly.
House margaritas 🍹 are excellent and the Asada Tacos are a definite 👍 thumbs up!
First basket of Chips and salsa are complimentary and even comes with a cabbage salsa too.
Excellent atmosphere with music and friendly wait staff.
Recommend this place for great tacos and lunch or dinner.
