Love these places but there is one major problem that is really common sense.
I have a 8 month old puppy, so we're always going on walks around the complex. Every time we are out on our daily walk I notice there is dog poo EVERYWHERE. If you commit to having an animal the least you could do is pick up it's fecal matter.
Especially because there are dog bags and trash cans at every corner. Sometimes peoples dogs even go to the bathroom right in front of our house in the plants and they don't even pick that up.
Always having to walk through the grass cautiously so myself or my dog

Still major construction going on in the area. So if you rent here be prepared for that as well as the traffic on wells. It can get pretty bad. The appt is nice and new..just wish it was in a better area.

Applicants !! future tenants!! if you are looking for an apartment here beware!!!!!! i was charged a $400 "holding fee" aside from $45 "application fee" to hold an apartment to take it off market & was told if i decided to go with another place or cancel my application for any reason i was going to get my $400 "holding fee" refunded. 2 weeks later i emailed to cancel the hold & application so i can get the "holding fee" refunded, only to be told they will not refund me because its been 72 hours since i completed my application. this is so fraudulent

When I first moved in, they sold us on two things: the beautiful views our apartment had of beautiful trees and a field in the back (along with the wildlife amongst it) and the amenities. Throughout the whole pandemic we weren’t ever allowed to use the amenities and weren’t compensated for it, and about July time they started ripping out allllll the trees and now right outside all of our windows (including the bedroom) we see tractors every day of the week doing god knows what. Every morning at 6:30-7am I wake up to CAT claw machines outside my window shaking up the entire apartment. I heard

In response to Marius Fricke, you should have looked at the overall building plan for the development/area in it's entirety. The ''development'' that you're complaining about has been in planning since 2011. You can find the green space plans for Parklands online. I'm sure you'll be pleased

I live inside the Parklands community on Wells Rd. and Telegraph and I'm truly heartbroken to see how the development next to us is completely butchering the trees and plants along the barranca and the river bed.
I don't know how much they leave standing, but I'm just thinking about all the wildlife, rabbits, squirrels, birds and even owls and bats.
The barranca was one of the reasons why we originally moved in this community and now they're tearing it all apart. I guess even the name "Parklands" refers to the park next to us, but soon there will be no more park left??
Too bad that we just extended

I wouldn't move here in 2021. Only good thing about this place is the actual apartment itself and having storage. Otherwise, it's too expensive. They raise rent every year. My biggest pet peeve is the big selling point of the apartment we initially chose a year ago was that it had a beautiful view of trees and an open field (being that we were at the edge and our balcony faced the trees and open field). I loved seeing bunnies every day and my cats loved seeing all the birds.

Now I can't use my patio because 7 days out of the week tractors are digging up dirt and the trees in the

Moved in from out of state. The young lady, Taylor was phenomenal & sold us on the place almost immediately! Sad to say she is gone now. The staff is ok, not the best. We were sold on the amenities, but have been unable to use them for almost a year. They are now allowing resident to use them, but my appointment only. Only eight people allowed at the pool at a time. About 80% of the time they’re booked, yet the pool is almost always empty. The barbecues are not available & the gym is never available. It’s also by appointment only. It’s great on paper, but if your moving in for the amenities

By far the absolute worst place i have ever lived not only are the people in the office super rude. when you have an issue with something they expect you to play harriet the spy and get them pictures and audio of everything. i have been here for 15 ungodly months and have had a CONSTANT issue with the people above me. it's like living in a club with bad base. and on top of all of that she screams at her husband at crazy hours and stomps around. i have a two year old who has been woken up on more than one occasion because they can't keep it together. the only thing saving this place is

My roommate and I moved in almost a year ago now and cannot wait to move out. The rent is so expensive but we signed the lease anyways because of the "amazing" amenities promised. A year later and none of the amenities are open, we haven't even used them a single time and our lease is almost up. Other apartment complexes and community living areas have been allowing limited access to their gyms and pools but not Parklands. Jeff told me that they are following Ventura health protocols yet apartments literally down the street have allowed access to their basic amenities for months

I was the first tenant in my building at Parklands in 2020 and have had a nothing but a positive experience with management and maintenance staff. The apartments are well designed with matching modern stainless appliances and easy maintenance “wood” floors with carpeted bedrooms - very nice for the price actually. Great place for dog lovers too with nice clean well-maintained grounds and pet poo pickup stations. Kudos to Jeff and everyone in the office - Good job! I have to move out of state and will miss living there.

Worst complex I lived at. Expect to pay $200-300 extra a month on top of your base rent. Worst customer service ever. Beyond rude staff. My newborn and I had to stay at a hotel because there was a rotten egg and paint smell coming from the vents. They thought it wasn't necessary to come check it out. Jeff said "well that's on you that you wanted to stay at a hotel"
Well I'm sorry ! I don't want my NEWBORN baby breathing in toxics !
Three days later maintenance came Bacchae I asked for a reimbursement. He said for 10 mins in my daughters room messing with the vent

EDIT: It's been 330 days since we signed our lease and ZERO amenities are open. Still saying the same old lines they did back in October, "working with our owners to open." Meanwhile- moving right along on construction for the next phase and still not finished here.
THREE MONTHS AGO:
I was excited after signing our lease, the grounds are nice and well kept, the parking isn’t terrible in contrast to other places I’ve lived and everyone has been really friendly. And I have to give it up the the guys in maintenance, they’re so incredibly helpful- they do an excellent job, with an awesome attitude

Beware of this place. They will take your $400 deposit to hold a unit then give it to someone else. They said as soon as another one opens up they would let us know. Then one opens up and someone else had already given it away. Now they refuse to return our $400. Scammers!! The manager Jeff thinks he's renting multi million dollar apartments on Park Ave. Someone needs to remind him this is Ventura and he should take his pompous attitude someplace else.

I understand the current pandemic has been hard on everyone, but these apartments didn't even try to accommodate. They closed everything (pool, gym, fire pit, common areas, etc.) and never changed the price of rent, which is already way too high. Also, our apartment had unfinished work which we were told would be finished by the time we moved in, and 9 months later it's still unfinished. Also, privacy is not respected. The landlords came in and "inspected" my apartment while I wasn't home. Didn't appreciate that.

Moved from Oxnard and I gotta say although construction has been going on, these apt are pretty well sound proof. I use to live at Tempo and I would constantly be woken up by buses, speeding cars, yelling and neighbors. This place is heaven compared to that hot mess. Management is super friendly and extremely helpful. Cant wait for the pool and gym to open up!

Shout out to Taylor S. for moving us into this apt! Not going to lie have not been satisfied as a customer with pool and gym closures but we are in a pandemic so I understand. The management has not been as friendly as I would like especially over the phone and at this location. IlThe grounds are well kept and the repair men who do the maintenance provide a fast and friendly service. I concur with Wendy w review below about amendments.

We have been paying full price for a year and they are not providing what they promised. The amenities that they advertise are not opened for use. While other luxury apartments offer apps and schedule your use and then sanitize, Parklands offers no solution nor offers any communication on what is being done. We can't use them yet they still advertise like mad to get you in. And now they decided to open up the rooftop. But instead of offering this to us as a gesture of good will, they want us to pay extra for it.

On your tour, you will get to walk around the pool and see up close what

My husband and I truly enjoyed our time at the Parklands! Our layout was extremely spacious for a one bedroom and we never had any complaints. The management team is very down to earth and made the application process a breeze. We moved from out of state and we felt super comfortable with our entire process.

Living at Parklands has been a gem! We were one of the first tenants to move in a few months ago and we are so happy we chose Parklands as our next home. We encountered a few small hiccups upon move in, but the staff are golden and on top of everything!!

We rent a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit with a 2 car attached garage. The unit is spacious, includes all top notch appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator). Kitchen appliances are stainless steel and the washer/dryer are stackable full size Whirlpool appliances. Also comes with central AC and heating! The garage has enough room for our

My wife and I were the first tenants to move in to these apartments. We have lived here for almost two months now and couldn't be happier! Although there have been minor inconveniences involving parking during our brief tenure here, most of that can be attributed to the building process. Most notably, during the entire process of living here (including months prior to move in), the leasing agents (Taylor, Leatte, and Wendy) have been outstanding in their open door policy during open hours and communication via timely and succinct emails. Also, the contractor and facilities manager have handled
