Services
Each resident signs their own lease for their specific bedroom. So, if a roommate moves out, the other residents are not responsible for that person's rent. Please note that common areas are a shared space. Why is my rent not prorated? A rental installment is a payment made as part of a series of payments.

Great customer service! I enjoy my time here- great pool and very fun environment for students. It's nice to be surrounded by people with similar goals and lifestyles.

The furnished apartments were in terrible shape when we moved in. Much of which we got blamed for when moving out and it became our fault for not making sure to take detailed notes on everything that was wrong when we moved in. Renters beware.
Make sure to read all the reviews. There are a lot of them that talk about issues with the poor condition of the apartments and getting charged for things that were not the renter’s fault. Also check BBB. There are a number of complaints. This place should be embarrassed.

Great place to live. The outdoor kitchen is very well equipped. The pool and hot tub are nice. I love the hammock garden. The community center is well equipped for hours of enjoyment. The layout of the property is nice. I walk my dog daily and there's plenty of bag stations throughout the property for use. The entire place is very nice and clean too. Overall it's one of the most exceptional rental communities in the area. I've been here, locally for over 40 yrs now and I expected it to be reasonably nice but I was pleasantly surprised that it's actually nicer than expected.

First day moving in our entry light was burnt out, two outlets not working, shower damage, screw holes from previous renters, cabinets not closing all the way, toilet issues, bathroom light bulb burnt out.
I thought they did inspection before move in day..?

Beware of move out fees. You will not get your deposit back. When you move in mark down every little thing from inch small dark spots on the carpets to light bulbs burnt out. They will charge you for everything possible. Other then that good place to live.

I’ve lived at Legends Place for the past 3 years and I love it! It is FAR better than the last place I lived in Lawrence. There are tons of on site amenities and the office is usually always throwing some kind of fun mixer. They actually take care of the property and make sure every unit is in perfect condition before anyone moves in. The staff is always super helpful and gets everything taken care of as soon as possible. The last time I had a maintenance issue, a worker named Toria made me her top priority and got the issue taken care of within 30 mins! I would definitely recommend this place

Legends place was an awesome experience while I was in college. I love the size of the room plus separate bathrooms. The pool and hot tube is where my sorority sisters and I would meet for study group and bonding activities. The staff I would recommend to ask for is Victoria, she is always made me feel comfortable and is very understanding with my concerns.

This place is really nice for the price of it. I live in a 4-bed, and the rooms are a very good size, with a big living room as well. Also comes with furniture if you don’t have your own, but if you do you can bring that as well. I love going to the gym there, and excited to try the hot tub and pool soon! The staff here is really nice. If you ever need to talk to someone you should speak to Taylor! She is so nice and has such a bubbly personality ! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

I have been interested in getting an apartment, and Victoria at the office had given me some great advice. I've visited the property, I love the size and look of the apartment, and I'm certainly thinking about leasing. Victoria answered all of my questions in-depth. I was very happy with the help she provided and will definitely recommend to my friends! Excellent customer service.

My wife and I were looking for a place off campus for our daughter to live and we toured Legends Place Apartments. We found the property to be well kept, the staff too be very friend/helpful and our daughter felt safe. Our daughter has lived there for almost a year now, and she plans to renew her lease.

I advise anyone not to rent here. They are dishonest and take advantage of young kids that don't know any better. My daughter was told the the $400 pet fee she would pay would go towards damages the pet did. I also inquired about the pet fee via email and was told the same. I have documented proof that this is what they are telling potential renters. This however is left out of the addendum that she was required to sign. Being a young girl she did not think to question this, she believed what she was told. When we were slapped with the bill when she moved out I asked if the $400 would

Overall, it's decent. The staff is nice but seems to know very little unless you can get ahold of the property manager. The units are extremely dirty upon move-in. We live in a 2 bedroom and are upgrading to a 3 in August. Despite the fact that we are staying with the complex AND bringing a new resident, the staff told us that we were not eligible for both the renewal specials and the new resident specials. To me, that's unfair and impacts our decision to stay with here next leasing period. The walls are thin, the outside areas of our building are constantly dirty. Paper towels have been

This place is so dirty. The living room seemed clean upon move in, but my room was noticeably full of dust on the edges and corners with several stains to the carpet. And my bathroom was grimy and uncleaned with a brush full of hair in a target plastic bag under the sink. I don't think they cleaned at all, they just expect the prior resident college student to do it.

Therefore, I didn't find it necessary to dust every inch and mr. clean the bathroom before move out, it just felt right leaving it how I found it. And I wanted to save my mr. clean sponge for my new place in case I needed

I have lived at Legends Place for almost 2 years now. It had its benefits, the pool was always pretty open and kept up along with the gym, the apartments were furnished, the staff was usually friendly, and it was in a good neighborhood. However, I had some concerns while living here. The appliances were outdated and I felt like I was always calling maintenance to fix something. Also, I noticed they increased the rent and the price does not match the quality of the apartment.

Pretty good! I'm impressed by how fast maintenance fixes things and the staff is very helpful. The only major complaint I have are that there are potholes but other than that I enjoy living here.

Best place I've lived off campus yet. The price is reasonable for college students, maintenance is timely and does a thorough job, and the complex pet friendly. Potholes used to be a major issue, but they filled them in this spring and are no longer an issue. Whenever I go to the office the people at the desk are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I renewed my lease as I was very happy with the apartment. I like that each bedroom has a private bathroom, so I don't have to share with my roommates. I hardly ever hear anyone in the adjacent apartments. There is a bus stop right outside

Not sure I would recommend???

I lived here during the 2016-2017 term and I'm not quite sure I would let even my worst enemy live here. The staff was overall pleasant to interact with, however, I would claim them to be undertrained in customer relations and genuinely believe they had little knowledge when it came to maintenance issues; the maintenance crew was often unhelpful and commonly left a significantly lengthy lull period between maintenance requests (general or emergency) and the fulfillment of said requests. Me and my three roommates walked in on a significant flood and it took the

It's a shame 1 star is as low as I can go. Where do I even begin. First of all I cannot stress how important it is to take a lot of photos when you first move in, otherwise they will find a way to charge you for issues that were there before you even moved in. Read the lease very very very carefully. They will load you up with entrance fees that sound like a deposit, but really it's just to fund parties so they can convince you to resign a lease. They bribe you to stay with your own money! They cater to college students with the promise of "affordable housing" then they tack

I'm writing this as the parent of a university student who rented here. Just to get it out of the way, I'll concede that the apartments are quite nice and very roomy. However--the management is the worst ever. Period. My daugher and I spent the better part of a day cleaning and scrubbing every nook and cranny of her room before she moved out. She also spent money to buy the exact color of paint specified by management to cover over any discolorations on the walls. However, the management has bilked her out of more than $500 since she moved out for "cleaning" and replacing the

This apartment complex should be avoided. They charged ridiculous amounts upon moving out and I was told they have no cleaning staff and depend on college students to clean their apartments. This is not healthy or sanitary. They charge for normal actions such as moving a box from a room. Again they had said more than once these apartments are not professionally cleaned between tenants. At the signing of the lease they wanted my daughter to apply and told us that even if she was turned down she would be required to pay the entire year, even without living there. I am very disappointed.

While the apartments are clean and not too bad space wise, this place does have it's problems.
The Room:
The insulation for Unit A is almost non-existent. In the summer without AC the room is basically the same temp. as the outside, and if not then it's hotter. If a breeze isn't directly going in, then the heat just sits in the room and ends up being hotter than the outside temp. I have three fans going and it's barely helping. Then during the winter we had the heater on, and I even had to buy a space heater because the room just can't hold in the warmth. The winters
