Scheduled a wine tasting over Thanksgiving, a few weeks ago, and enjoyed seeing Victor and Evelyn, along with Victor Manuel, the son who just is finishing up medical school..YAY...and really enjoyed reconnecting with them and tasting the wines. I love the Tanat, and all of the wines are made to drink to enjoy LIFE...it's all about really being alive and being thankful, we are getting through so many things together during these challenging times but it's time to come together and work through problems and solve them. Together...Come together...the Beatles, said it best. Thanks for

Evelyn and Victor own Bodega Del Sur and are two of the nicest and appreciate people we have ever met wine tasting.

The tasting experience on their front Patio was OUTSTANDING. Evelyn was a fantastic host. By appointment only means you have her full attention. We had a lot of great conversation and had a nice platter of cheese, grapes and baguette stick to share.

For the tastings we loved every single wine and this is the first time I have ever liked every single wine in a tasting.

Some notable wines were:

2018 Temperanillo
Land of Skulls: 50% Granasha 50% Malbec
2017 Tennant: Excellent for

The winery focuses on wines of Hispanic origins and the staff is very knowledgeable and willing to share. It is easily worthy of the time to step off of Main Street. Catch the Spirit!

We had the perfect experience at Bodega Del Sur. Like the other reviewers say, Evelyn (the owner) is very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, and generous. She was incredibly patient with our numerous questions, and walked us through the different wines we were tasting, asking us meaningful questions to know what we like in order to offer us the best tasting experience. My mom and I told her that we always get a headache from red wine, and she promised us we wouldn't get headaches drinking her organic wine, and she was absolutely right! I just wish we lived nearby so I could always get my

Wow!!!!! A little slice of heaven on earth. We had an amazing time at Bodega Del Sur. We kept coming back the entire weekend. Not only is it quaint, charming and unique but the customer service was outstanding. Evelyn, the owner, is hands on and such an elegant and kind person. Frausto and Janet spoiled us rotten!!! They have Spanish varietals and a beautiful collection of Dia de Los Meurtos gifts for purchase. We loved the tastings and the sangria!!! Thank you Bodega crew for being the highlight of our 3 days in Murphy's.

With warm regards, until next time.....

This winery is unique - not just to Murphys, but to California! The emphasis on Hispanic Varietals is rewarding on its own. And in the friendly, personal attention and you have an unparalleled experience. Add in a female and minority owned winery and you have a winning business worthy of attention and visitation.

This tasting room was a highlight of our visit to Murphy's! We enjoyed the hospitality of Evelyn and Frausto! We loved the Latin decor and beautiful artwork. We also loved Evelyn tell the history of the wine and the importance of supporting women. Part of the proceeds of a few of the wines go to a women's charity. Anyway, we were impressed with the wine tasting and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The Malbec was my favorite and the dessert wines are lovely. Oh, but do not leave without the salted Carmel! We will definitely be back.

Great story, good wine, tiny pours. Usually a pour is 2 oz, this is only 1 oz. I would recommend buying a bottle if you come with a group! Also make sure you have a tasting before you buy the bottle...

Bodega Del Sur Winery's Wines have a Spanish Flair. Wines are tasty. If you happen to be in town during Dia de Los Muertos - this is a great spot to drop by to sip and savor. Be sure to ask about their family heritage. Salute.

My parents and I came into this tasting room a few days ago. We had a great conversation with the owners and came to find out that they organized the Dia de los muertos festival in Murphys this past November. Sunset Magazine wrote an article on the event and they had no idea! They were very pleased to learn that they had been featured! Overall an excellent selection of wines and an even better array of authentic Dia de los muertos art pieces directly from Mexico.

It was really warm inside. The bottle labels are beautiful but the wine was average. Nothing stood out so we did not buy a bottle.

Really enjoyed our visit. The wines were great, especially the 2010 Tempranillo. Very personable owners of a family business who paid attention to every visitor.

A great reason to come back to Murphy.

Friendly spot where they're more than eager to discuss their wines with you. Cute little tasting room near the park. Wines are of high quality, though the prices are on the higher end (for what I'd expect to pay for a wine made outside Napa or Sonoma (but to be fair, that's true for just about any winery in this area). If they have the Carmesi or Dry Zinfandel up for tasting, don't miss them!

I was also happily surprised when I learned they have a Bay Area connection! ...Like many in the Calaveras County area ;)

They deserve 5 stars! My sister and I (who are also Salvadorian like the owners) just came by this weekend to Murphys for the first time. Bodega del Sur had Friendly associates! They had a story for each art work in their tasting room. The light fixture above your head was made by the owner her self! They were just super friendly, we had so much fun during our visit and their wines simply irresistible! Most notably the dry Zinfandel dessert wine! yummy!
Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back!

Friendly tasting room right off of Murphys Park. They were only supposed to be open until 5pm but they gladly stayed open to gather in all of us stragglers. A more standard array of California wines are offered at Bodega and we found the Syrah particularly tasty. This was also great because they were offering a half off special on their Zin and Syrah at this time. The pourers were friendly, knowledgable, helpful and had some great team work! They picked up where each other left off and made sure everyone was taken care of.

It's hard to give the Bodega Del Sur tasting room anything less than 5 stars. The tasting room associate was so friendly and helpful with all of our questions and took the time to make conversation with us as well. This was the 4th tasting room we visited that day so I didn't taste everything that was offered. I did purchase a bottle of the Dry Zinfandel dessert wine that was amazing. The winery is tucked behind Main St. so it was a little quieter than some of the others which was nice because we always end up going tasting on an event weekend.

Bodega Del Sur makes more typical styles of California wine. They purchase grapes from growers in the region.

You got your Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, a Syrah-Zinfandel blend, and a Zinfandel dessert wine, all of which are decent.

The tasting room is very beautiful and well-thought-out. I especially loved the associate who was very friendly and knowledgeable.
