Vidon Vineyard
Founded in 1999 by Don and Vicki Hagge, Vidon Vineyard is now owned and operated by Dru and Erin Allen. We are a LIVE certified sustainable vineyard and winery located in the countryside of Newberg, Oregon. We are 100% estate with everything from vines to wines being made and sold right out of the winery.

We believe winemaking begins in the vineyard and invite you to experience our wines with our stunning view of rolling wine country hills and Mt. Vidon Vineyard is open to limited indoor and outdoor tastings by appointment. Please be aware that the doors and windows will be open to provide adequate air flow if you are seated indoors.
Services
If you're a fan of boutique wineries that produce distinct, site-specific wines, look up Vidon. The wines are great. Vidon Vineyard was founded in 1999 by Don Hagge and Vicki Lewis, who looked past the overrun blackberry bushes, tree stumps, and broken down cars on their land with dreams of building a boutique vineyard.
The Tasting Room is located in the winery and provides visitors with an opportunity to take a peek behind the curtain, while the patio on the crush deck offers a relaxing spot to get to know the winemakers and enjoy the dramatic views of the Willamette Valley and Mt. Jefferson. Learn more about the experiences our winery offers daily below.
Explore the depths of Vidon wines with our three completely customizable clubs based on the levels of Earth's atmosphere. If you're interested in getting your head above the clouds then the Stratosphere Club will take you there. Members of our entry-level club will receive 12 bottles of wine annually with shipments in the spring and fall.

Vidon was by far the best winery we visited in Oregon. The owner, winemaker and staff are there daily and spend time with each guest answering questions and sharing stories. They have the most amazing view coupled with very good wines. We came back a second time and even joined the wine club because it was inexpensive. We would highly recommend stopping by Vidon or planning a visit when you're in the area.

What a great find in Willamette! While Dru and Erin are new owners of this winery, they are amazingly gracious and really good people. Their winery sits at the top of the hill overlooking the valley with spectacular views. However, the real reason to stop here is the wines!! They are really great expressions of the valley; great Pinot and Chardonnay. They also offer some non traditional offerings such as Tempranillo. Can't wait to return.

Exceptional! I loved everything about this winery. They welcomed us with a glass of wine upon arrival. From their mission, their exceptional views, their warm Eddie Bauer blankets, their informative and knowledgeable team, their warm service and personalities, and their overall treatment made us feel right ahome! We could've spent our entire day there. Will Definitely be back. We even had special and unexpected treats. We got to taste the grapes from the vine and we were there at the right time of the year to taste some unfermented wine. Thank you guys for a Fantastic experience!

Vidon is one to watch. Recently acquired by new owners, one visit to Vidon and you can feel the love, intention, and pride they are pouring into their vineyard. This is a totally different experience than a larger winery and this is what made it so special. I highly recommend reserving the Vineyard Lookout - I could sit here all day. 100% of their wine is estate grown and you can taste the difference. This is a real family place, we felt like we were part of something just coming here for a tasting.

Great wine and an incredible experience. You’ll notice the difference right away, as the staff greet you personally. We loved our tasting and talks with the owner, president, and winemaker. Vidon is different in the best way. Can’t wait to visit again.

Vidion was so tasty! The wine was so good and the wine steward was friendly and knew a lot of fun facts. 😊 The weather was crummy but the indoor area where they make the wine turns into a cozy area to chill.

I came here because someone mentioned that the place is owned by an astronaut. Did a bit more homework and learned he actually was an engineer who worked on the Apollo program. Well, we share the same line of work in different decades.

The tasting appointment was actually right after a final exam. I was zapped by stress. Driving through the beautiful Oregon wine country roads, I think it was much better than Napa and Fredericksburg! It kinda reminded me of Tasmania... Vidon sits above the hill so certainly I was excited about the view

I was greeted by Stephanie. I picked a seat on the wooden

A great little family winery. All of their wine is solid with their pinot and Chardonnay truly standing out. I highly recommend including Vidon in your itinerary, they provide a phenomenal experience and environment for tasting and to hone in one's palette.

We had visited several wineries while staying in Oregon last week. This one came recommended but we were terribly disappointed. We arrived a little bit after 11am. We were the only ones there. The man behind the counter we found to be inattentive, and gave me the feeling that he felt very "put out" having to deal with us (there was only 2 of us). This was a vast contrast from the welcoming and friendly atmosphere we had experienced at other places so far. The tasting room is crowded with wine barrels and equipment, the view up at the winery is beautiful so we opted to sit outside. Every time we

This is easily my favorite winery in the Valley. Don produces some of the greatest Pinots and that Chardonnay is out of this world. Also has a great history with NASA as a physicist. Beautiful views...don't miss

Absolutely the highlight of our day trip to the area. David was entertaining and highly knowledgeable without pretense. Plus a solid scientific bent was refreshing.

Vidon Vinyard is a small winery located a few minutes outside the town of Newberg in the Chehalem Mountain AVA. There is a lovely outside seating area with beautiful views of the valley. The owner is a retired NASA physicist, and he names some of his wines after space missions. They offer a pinot noir made with a three clone blend; 777,115, and Pommard. They also grow some Syrah and Tempranillo grapes on the property which is a little unusual for the area. The staff is unpretentious and engaging. The winemaking seems to lean more to the scientific strain as opposed to the artistic, but I guess

I've been to Vidon several times. It's a hidden gem up a windy gravel road. Vidon is very laid back and non-pretentious. The wine is great and the view is even better!!!

Don helped put men in space, so all we can say is these wines are out of this world! It's not often the owner/winemaker is even on site, much less behind the counter pouring. This is truly a one of a kind tasting experience.

A boutique winery with amazing wines and a lovely setting you will not be disappointed. Buy a bottle and sit out out on the grounds and relax and take in the beautiful hillside views. Don is a great host and if you only knew his background... it doesn't take a Rocket scientist to make wine.. or does it?! Tasting fees are $20.

The view alone is 5 star, gorgeous! Tastings by appointment only but the process is very easy. Their tasting fee is steep at $25 pp, but the the whole experience offers value. You'll sample straight from the barrel and get a brief private tour of the production facility.

These guys really are different. Check out their non-wine club program. It's a membership/rewards/points program with no restrictions, unlike most wine clubs.
The folks are pretty interesting too. An 82 year old astrophysicist wine maker and his charming wife, and some new guy David who reminds me of Drew Carey, but much smarter. If you're interested in wine education you can learn lots from these folks.

Absolutely one of my favorites in Oregon wine country. Not very well known, but that's OK. Tremendous grounds and the owners are often on-site and couldn't be friendlier. You go in for a taste and come out feeling like a member of the family. If you're in the area this is definitely worth a stop.
They had gone "private" for a while, but not anymore. All are welcome.

I never considered joining a wine club, because that just "wasn't me". I was never the type, though my partner joined one when we lived in California.

That all changed when we found Vidon.

The wines are just phenomenal - Don makes an incredible wine! They're delicious, and just go down so easy... There are two wineries in the world that are at the very top of my list, and Vidon is in one of those two spots. Just incredible - I can't say enough good things about Vidon!

NOTE: They just converted to be a private winery, so they're not running an open tasting room
