Uplift
UPLIFT started over 17 years ago when Carrie Bain, our fearless, compassionate leader opened the doors of Bikram Yoga Elk Grove just four days after 9/11. In a time of tragedy, she was determined to shine a light. It was, in her word, "My Divine Calling!" One of the original hot yoga studios in the area, BYEG spawned numerous teachers and spin-off studios causing some to call Carrie the "god-mother" of hot yoga in northern California.

Just like our students, we've evolved over time. The last few years have brought growth, love and excitement on all levels to our studio. We've added diverse modalities, created more community events and welcomed new students and staff. Since our humble beginnings, we've grown into a beautiful, thriving community of like-minded souls determined to make a positive ripple in the world.
Services
You can rent one when you come to class. After a few visits, we hope you love it enough to invest in a mat and make that commitment to yourself and your practice. Be Kind to yourself and others. Be On Time Kindly show up early to give yourself time to settle in. Once class begins, latecomers are not permitted.

I wanted to come on here to say how much I LOVE this studio. I’ve been practicing hot yoga for a long time and it’s rare to find an actual hot yoga studio, especially one that has a few different styles of yoga to choose from, which are all amazing. Every class has been on point and the owners and staff are incredibly accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

Love the people and have much respect for this practice. Being in 90 degree is definitely a challenge but they have classes that fits any schedule and after the session, you will feel awesome after a shower & hydrating, of course! Not only do they practice the bikram yoga but teach you to feel centered, meditate and love yourself! All great things to remind yourself daily!

I really loved taking a class at this studio even though it made me realize how out of shape I was! Lol. The instructor Lowela was really nice and interactive. She recognized me as a newbie and told me a couple times how to properly be in form. Which I needed. I really look forward to taking another class again here. FYI this studio gets warm so bring lots of water and a towel because you will sweat.

Really wanted to love this place and give hot yoga a fighting chance! The teacher was nice. She kept the students very motivated and knew everyone’s name. I couldn’t believe she was the age she claimed to be... she knew how to help when a pose was difficult. However, there was a bit of unprofessionalism from her and apparently the system didn’t sync since I was told I hadn’t registered for the class... when I was told to register for a different class by the front desk since she already registered me for this class.
Overall, class is good. The establishment isn’t good. I felt like I

The owner reached out and extended my expired days I didn't use. She was polite and she has redeemed my opinion of this establishment. I look forward to returning for hot yoga once things go back to being normal.

I saw a sticker in the building that said "Hot Yoga Cool People" and it expertly summed up my feelings for the place. Knowledgeable, friendly and unbiased Superhumans go here. They have a variety of classes available daily so there's something for everyone. I believe this is a great place for all people--beginners, athletes, bored couples, busy folks, and even the decrepit... especially the decrepit. I love going to Uplift and I think you will too

Love this studio. I'm glad I grudgingly went when a friend of mine forced me to go with her and try out yoga. I thought she was crazy for asking me to do this! I was stuck and frustrated with my same workout routine seeing no further results, so I was willing to try anything. Who would have thought that I'd come to fully enjoy this studio. From the facility to the instructors and let's not forget the atmosphere in this place! I LOVE THEM VIBES!!!

Yoga is changing my life. I love the greeting from staff each time I attend. The studio is amazingly clean with lockers all new. Instructors are honestly kind and caring. Two years in attendance and truly feel younger now. Hot yoga is a pracice and has real health benifits. UPLIFT is perfect for us offering an assortment of classes and prices. I bought the punch card because of my schedule. Have fun bring a friend or make it your excape.

The only cons are often the classes are too crowded and particularly for the regulars of the "uchill" (class which is yin yoga) people are talking loudly before class starts. I did notice a sign on the door asking that when you enter the yoga room to be quiet... especially if you're coming to relax and remove noise out of your life. Other than this.. reccomend Rodney's sculpt class and any uchill.

Signed up for a month and only went twice. Place was too crowded, definitely not a relaxing environment when you are worried about stretching and trying to avoid hitting the people right next to you. They need to have a class size limit. The guy in the counter which was the instructor seemed to be annoyed, didn't even show me around. I had to ask where locker room was.
I did give it 3 stars because the place was clean & nice.

Great hot yoga studio! The instructors are all very friendly and helpful. I have always felt welcome. They have a great newbie's one month unlimited classes for $49.99. It is the first time I have kept to any kind of exercise routine and am considering getting their unlimited monthly pass so I can continue.

Update: I enjoyed my month so much and went daily that I bought their spring special. 3 months was free with the purchase of a year of unlimited classes.

Been going for about 2 months now & loving it!! Loving all the different classes and instructors but most of all love the new studio!

They now have a boutique w/ super cute apparel and workout gear!

Would love an 8am class on some weekdays.

I've signed up for 15 months and can't wait to see my progress and journey! Thank you for opening this studio so close to my house. Makes it so convenient w/ two babies at home!

This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I are in love with the heated studio and how clean the equipment and locker rooms always are. We've never been to yoga/Pilates before coming here, but Uplift has converted us over. For us, we already know that this place is obviously the best because of the quality of instructors that teach here. They are all so motivated to help each and every person reach their goals for coming to class.

It's hard to pick favorites from their crew of awesome instructors, but Uplift definitely wouldn't be the same without Rodney and his wife Mary. When we

Fantastic studio and facility.
Instructors are able to simultaneously guide an entire class while also making posture corrections to individuals; which I need from time to time.
Love the practice here.

One of the most warm, genuinely friendly studios I’ve ever been to. Each instructor is caring and sincere in their efforts to help their students whether it be posture related or life challenges. I always feel like I’m with my best friends. Carrie, the owner, has a huge heart and will make sure that your yoga experience is positive.

Pleasantly and Happily surprised when I took a class yesterday morning while visiting my sister for a few days in Elk Grove! The last time I visited and took a class there was this awful carpet in the Yoga room that was very smelly and wet. It was enough for me not to return however with the 60 Day Challenge that I am currently on and almost half way completed Plus being about 2 miles away from my Sisters house- I wanted to continue my practice so decided to visit the school once again in hopes that perhaps the flooring would be updated and it was!!!! Yipeeeeeee!!!

A yoga studio is very simple. It's basically bare, cushioned floor but what makes a bikram yoga studio great in my opinion is:

1 - how hot it gets ... you're here for the heated yoga after all. This studio heats up nicely.
2 - the smell ... how well ventilated it is! Heated areas mean sweaty people and the smell lingers. They open the doors between classes so that the smell can escape before the next class - so far so good. And last but definitely not least
3 - the instructors!! The instructors here are great!

I don't go here consistently because their schedule changes according

I will give this place 5 stars for their inferno hot pilates classes. I am hooked! Jaime, Eileen and D'lee are awesome instructors. The work out always gives me energy.

They need surveillance camera outside though or maybe a security guard during early or late night classes to scare away thieves.
