Parker's pioneering spirit and unwavering commitment to superior patient care in a warm and supportive environment have been our manifest since founding in 1907. The Institute was established by a group of benefactors as a shelter for homeless older people.

From a single room in a private house in East Harlem, the group, incorporated as the Harlem House of the Daughters of Israel in 1914, moved to a three-story brownstone at 32 East 119th Street, and then, in 1925, to an eight-story building at 1260 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.Enlarged facilities enabled Parker's forerunner to care for increasing numbers of immigrants and other New Yorkers who sought assistance.
Services
Planned Giving offers donors a rewarding method to support the Institute, while obtaining excellent financial benefits, which include reducing current income taxes, avoiding capital gains taxes, increasing spendable income, reducing taxable estate and probate costs, providing for the special needs of a family member, increasing the amount children will inherit, and keeping a family business or other valuable assets intact for your heirs.
At our Sub-Acute Care and Short Term Rehab facility we promote independence and rapid return to home after rehabilitation from a broad range of surgical procedures, stroke, amputation, injuries and illness. Specialized treatments to deal with tracheotomies, I.V. therapy, chemotherapy, recovery from head and neck surgery, and wound care management.
Comprehensive Community Hospice at Parker Jewish Institute provides comfort, relief, and peace of mind to individuals with advanced or life-limiting illness and their families. We are an intimate and unique program that provides personalized care to ensure your comfort, enhance your quality of life, preserve your dignity, and respect your choices.
CHHA services are intermittent skilled care, provided under the direction of MD orders. Participants in this program receive individualized nursing, medical and rehabilitation services that allow them to maintain maximum independence and remain in the comfort of their homes.

My relative is a patient of Park Jewish Institute's Parker At Your Door program, and receives medical house calls through this service. It is a godsend! No more ferrying my relative to doctors appointments, and even the lab work and x-rays are done brought to the house. The staff is very attentive. My entire family is grateful for this service through Parker.

They do not require residents to be vaccinated against Covid . When you ask that question you get a “we have a very high vaccination rate .” Read the NYT report on nursing homes and you will see how the state’s ranking of nursing homes is a bunch of baloney . Nursing homes do not have to report how many residents have Covid - only the ones that die and perhaps are hospitalized. Thanks to our former governor, we know that number is skewed . My mom is there and has Covid. My dad caught Covid from a resident . I’ve walked in and seen visitors in rooms without masks and not be told anything

Idk what was worse, getting stuck behind the worst driver in the tri-state, or getting stuck behind the worst driver in the tri-state while staring at this awful decal of what I can only assume was a picture of the driver and his partner. Learn to merge and maybe drive a little faster cause I don't think your target population has that much time to waste.

1 star would still be giving Parker way more credit than it deserves. Any further comment would be redundant. I completely agree with all the other negative comments. Look at all of the photos on their website-they are new and up to date. This is only of the second floor. All of the other floor are old, dirty, dark and NEED to be updated. The administration constantly gives the run around and will feed you the answers you want to hear. Patients lay in bed after hitting the button for hours before staff helps. Please do not send your loved ones here. I’m sorry to the very few aids that try and

When you see constant new 5 star reviews, those can be fake reviews or reviews from people that have been asked by the administrator to write a review to boost their rating There are good reviews that are real, but those are for short term rehab, not for long term care. This place is not what it appears to be. Take the negative reviews seriously. If your family member is going for short term rehab, it's fine or least it was before COVID. But if you care about your loved one, do not put them here for long term care. The place is understaffed, the staff is overworked and trust me when I tell you

If I can give them 0 stars I would. Everything about this place is terrible. My mother in law has been in rotation from Parker to the hospital for the last few year and there has never been any improvement while at Parker Jewish. If this is your family members only option please search for another one. The entrance is always pack with incompetent employees (expect for 2 young black males and one young Indian female they are amazing), but once your able to go to your actual floor you will be lucky if your able to see even one employee. You will constantly hear patients calling and crying for help

After speaking with the supervisor of reviews about my concerns with Facetiming with my Uncle, the following time time I signed-up, I did receive my call. I was impressed with the concern that was shown, as well as the successful follow-up and resolution. I look forward to continuing my Facetimes with my Uncle.

Our grandmother was at the Indian Unit at Parker Jewish. Although for a very short period, the staff in the Indian Unit was extremely caring and helpful. We are very grateful to Molly Joseph for her professionalism. We can't thank Sujata Seth and Dr Saroj Shah for going above and beyond in making our grandmother's stay a good one. Thanks again to the whole staff and team.

If you want to lose your license apply for a job here. 35 patients to 1 LPN and you have to do every single care for the 35 resident and paperwork included. The state visits verrrrry often and there is a lot of out of compliance going on in the faculty. They would cover up and put on a show when the state is there and as they leave the next day it is back to 1 nurse per 35 patients. Managements and supervisors are rude, disrespectful and mistreats the employees. New hires quit as fast as they get in and notice the doll house. Do not apply to work at this place you will be sorry especially that

My uncle was admitted to Parker Jewish in 2018 and was treated with the utmost care and consideration while there. With every visit, I witnessed how the staff, the doctors, and the institute as a whole was structured to care for the patients housed with their walls. My uncle was suffering from Parkinson's and at times could be a difficult patient. But the nurses and staff never gave up on him. As someone with quite a few members of his immediate family in the medical field, I can speak to bedside manner from experience and those that work at Parker Jewish are the cream of the crop. Not to mention
