E. Alvin Small founded our funeral home in 1952 on the Boulevard in Colonial Heights. With help from his dad, Edward, two brothers, Herbert and Ralph, and several close friends, they established the foundation of caring and personal professional service which has remained the keystone to today's operations.
When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one.

My wife unexpectedly passed away in October and the staff at Alvin Smalls were extremely kind and helpful during the difficult time. Nick was amazing and really helped my family with the arrangements. I would definitely recommend Alvin Smalls to anyone going through the funeral process. They exceeded all my expectations!
