I am originally from Richmond, Virginia, and received my BA in English Literature from the University of Richmond. After a break of five years, I returned to graduate school and received my Master's and Ph. D. in Counseling Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. I completed my internship at the Palo Alto VA hospital, with specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Dr. Priddy has not treated me but has been a valued consultant and consultee. In my 29 years as a therapist, consulting to/with, being supervised and supervising, and providing service, I've dealt with a lot of colleagues, I count Dr. Priddy among the exceptional. Michael is direct, to the point and incisive. This approach may not fit everyone, especially those who wish to have a silent witness to their process. Be forewarned, he's funny, which might put-off the humorless. I value it and recommend it highly to clients/patients who want a different kind of therapeutic experience, one that
