Services
Keep your bike in ideal condition with a LAB's three-year maintenance plan. The three-year maintenance plan covers all basic maintenance to the bicycle within a three-year period beginning at time of purchase of a new bicycle. This includes: brake adjustments, derailleur adjustments, flat repair, wheel truing, headset adjustment, bottom bracket adjustment, seat adjustment, stem adjustment, chain tension adjustment, and bicycle wipe down.

In 2007 LA Brakeless opened as a custom track shop named Los Angeless Brakeless Bicycles AKA The LAB. Over the last 10+ years, we've expanded to carry geared bicycles as well and accessories. We can help you customize your own bike on any budget, overhaul an older vintage bike, or help you decide on an already built complete bike from one of our many suppliers.

Anna was knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Had been looking for the Thousand helmets in stock at a shop and FINALLY I found Brakeless. She runs the store all by herself! It was a huge win win getting the helmet I wanted and supporting a local business. I'll definitely be back to get toe grips and visit her newly adopted dog Dodger. The experience made my day. Hey! So today I was by LA Brakeless, and realized I hadn't given a review yet. Anyways, short version is that Anna did a dream build for me. I never met Anna before but knew the shop and the reputation. After talking to her for less than 20 minutes I knew I was in good hands. It was a great process of communication and guidance toward something I'm forever grateful to be lucky enough to own and enjoy on a daily basis. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Anna is incredibly talented!

I just bought a bike off of states website and needed a pro to assemble it for warranty reasons. So decided to support our small businesses in the area. Read some of these reviews and not sure what people are disgruntled about? Anna is a pro. Just text her at the business number. She'll get back to you. We're in a pandemic have some patience and empathy y'all.

I decided today was the day I get a new bike and my friend recommended LA Brakeless. I went to the shop and there was a sign that said it was appointment only. I called the number provided and luckily I was able to receive services right away. The owner asked me a couple questions to help me narrow down what I was looking for and I ended up finding the perfect bike. Ana was super friendly, knowledgeable and just provided great customer service all around. She build my bike for me in no time. Ordered some bar tape from their online store, paid for the bar tape, and then was refunded almost two weeks later with no other explanation or correspondence. If you're going to take my money ($100) for over a week, the least you owe me with my refund is an explanation of why you can't send me the product I ordered. You seem to otherwise be a liked business, so I regret the negative review, but I did send an email asking for an explanation, but never got a response to my email, so...here we are.

Look, we really wanted to give this place a shot. Woman-owner why not. But, her communication is HORRENDOUS. We dropped off bike parts earlier in August, and we were told it would be a one week turnaround. Perfect!
One week rolls around, nothing. We hear back from her a couple days past a week and she says

Clear communication is vital to optimal business interactions. I was very deliberate about wanting to support a local and female owned business, but disappointment arrived at each stage. If you want to buy a new bike, this is the place. If you're looking for repairs, I urge you to consider another location.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience. The owner is incredibly defensive and therefore the discussions become unnecessarily painful. I ended up with a pedal that fell off twice after bike rides, we communicated the issue and somehow it ended up being my fault. She threatened to keep my bike based on nothing. The price of a part was communicated with us but not the price for labor. We were surprised that we had to pay $100 even though only $30 was communicated. Long story short: 175$ spent, $75 to get a problem fixed that hidesight she was not able to fix, difficult communication and absolutely

My only experience with cycling is with mountain bikes. So when I decided to pull the trigger with a daily commuter, I didn't want to settle with some walmart brand bike. I found what I wanted and called around. LA Brakeless was the only shop to get back to me. AND they had exactly what i wanted! Within a day of some back and forth due to covid and what not, I was out the door with a State Bicycle Co. 4130. The experience was awesome and I've already recommended a few friends to buy from here. I figure I'll be back for some holiday shopping for my nephews in need of bikes.

This store and Anna, the owner, are a rare jewel. I have been there before for the usual stuff, like tuneups and and accessories. But after one of my bikes was vandalized I really had the opportunity to experience what they are capable to do. I brought my frame and Anna helped me to create something incredible and beautiful. She took the time and patience to help me do what I wanted to do and called my BS when I asked for something unnecessary or pointless.

Was a bike messenger on a fixie and recently getting back into riding. This shop put together a classic style, geared road bike I ordered online. I realize this is not what they work on but everywhere I called had a two week build wait list and they were willing to do it in a day. It cost almost double as everywhere else but that's the trade-off I was willing to pay. The frame had a dent, not the shops fault, which they said they'd email the manufacturer for me about but never did. I texted twice but was ghosted for that issue. Sitting outside the shop, ready for a bike repair, etc. Store is locked. Theres a sign that says theyll be open today. Theres a message on their phone that says they open at 9am today, Friday. Yet, here my bike and I sit, unfixed and unsafe. This is a major bummer, but not a surprise. Second time it's happened to me with this shop.

Walked in for advice and walked out with a bike. Super friendly service and nice selection of bikes. Would definitely recommend.
Follow up - have been back to the shop a couple of times for advice and servicing and have been super happy. Anna providers amazing service and even attends public hearings to ensure we still have bike path. Fantastic!
