Lemon Poppyseed - a lemon buttermilk cake with a tart lemon cream filling that's made in house. The above pricing is for our standard retail cakes which are 3 high. If you'd like an individual cake (or cakes) for a very special occasion (baby shower, milestone birthday, etc) and want your cake to make more of a statement, we offer cakes in "wedding height size" (about 4.5").
We know everyone wants a rough idea of pricing before contacting us, but it's just impossible to come up with a one size fits all pricing guide since the amount of time spent decorating a cake can vary widely depending on how complicated the design work is. To discuss a special order cake, please call the bakery at (619) 296-4077 Monday - Saturday between 9 am and 4pm and ask to speak to one of the bakers.
We also pride ourselves on offering cakes that are only slightly sweet, not cloyingly sweet. One of the big trends in weddings beginning in 2016 was to have a small cutting cake for the couple and an array of mini-desserts for the guests. Twiggs - University Heights is a laid back coffeehouse which serves pastries made fresh every day at our Adams Avenue bakery. We also serve breakfast biscuits (southern biscuits made in our bakery each morning with any combination of eggs, cheese, bacon or sausage). For lunch we offer several panini sandwiches made in our Adams Avenue bakery and grilled when you order it along with quiche which we make ourselves as well.

This place is ok. Golden milk and Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits are unique and delicious. They could work on their consistency of rule execution. 2 tines I've gone in and recently and was talked to regarding rules in place. Witch, I get, and have no issue following; however, each time I seem to be the example, odd.
1.) Wearing a mask, I just forgot to take one with me while walking my dog. They inquired about me having one, I said no, they offered me one that I took. Oddly enough the elderly Caucasian Gentlemen that were there, were not wearing them sitting at their table and walking around, odd

I stopped by quickly for my afternoon coffee and a quick bite. The old charm coffeehouse was moderately filled with people and groups. The mask was highly encouraged, and the owner/ staff was pretty friendly. The coffee was fine, nothing overwhelming. The blueberry muffin was pretty decent too. Although I wanted to eat something more heavy, but they ran out of most of the stuff at that time.

Great coffee drinks and PHENOMENAL baked goods. The croissants are possibly the best I’ve had. We split a spinach croissant and a chocolate croissant - delicious. The regular brewed coffee is great as well. All around fantastic coffee shop with plenty of space to meet friends or stay and work a while.

Twiggs is a neighborhood gem. I LOVE their blueberry bagel (from big city bagels) with cream cheese and their latte is wonderful. My husband always enjoys his biscuit breakfast sandwich, which comes with bacon, sausage, or just cheese, and can also be served on a bagel or croissant. They have a large assortment of pastries and quiche, both of which I haven’t yet tried. The Italian sodas are unique and delicious, though a little sweet because they have flavoring syrup. The staff here is super nice and helpful, always with a smile behind their masks!

This is a 2021 review of Twiggs. I’m really happy to say that my favorite coffee shop is starting to come back. Customers are allowed inside, masks off when seated.
They are very good about distancing, all workers are masked and the food is protected and sanitary.
Pros:
• Great selection of coffee, teas + shakes
• Lots of pastries and cakes as well
• They also have sandwiches
• Friendly service
• Very clean
• 2 Bathrooms
• Plenty of charging ports
• Cozy and romantic interior
• Great place to study
• Near a lot of gear restaurants and bars

Great little cafe at university hills. Good friendly staff. Amazing coffee. Love their espresso drinks. My favorite is the happy camper on a grumpy winter morning. The happy camper comes in a 10oz cup but is packed with 3 espresso plus chocolate and cream. Very reasonably priced and Amazingly delicious!

Good vibe. Classic decor with wooden furniture. Classic music. Good for study/work. Nice windows / views to street. Not the most friendly staff (at least with my single time experience). Power outlets too few. Only tried ice tea, good. Would return and check out again and try more items. Few outdoor seats.
