Do you struggle to diet and lose weight, just to find you gain the weight back when the diet has ended? It's not you, it has more to do with the physical and emotional effects of caloric restriction. We believe in the non diet method called intuitive eating. This method teaches you to learn to listen to and respond to body signals, enjoy food again, and give you the freedom of choice.
Studies have shown this can help you to lose weight and maintain the loss. If you have disordered eating, we can help you to identify the original cause and take steps to learn how to eat and support your own well being. Recovery from an eating disorder can affect your entire life and the direction you want to take.

Programs for weight management are developed by undergoing an in-depth nutrition assessment and history. We believe that the history can determine how the initial weight gain began. Common causes of weight gain are often chronic dieting, emotional eating or chaotic eating. Once the cause is determined, a new lifestyle plan can be developed in order to promote a permanent weight loss.
Barbara Cox is a dietician/nutrition therapist who has an amazing gift for helping people not only lose weight but also discover what underlies their relationship with food through a wonderful program called "Intuitive Eating." Working with Barb helped me lose 65 pounds (!) and changed my whole approach to eating and my relationship with food.
The first assessment visit costs $200. This visit lasts 1 hours and may include a review of childhood and past eating habits, history of weight changes and the reason for them, and other medical and physical factors which are pertinent to setting goals and developing a plan to achieve them. Barbara Cox is a provider for many different insurance plans.

Barbara has been my nutritionist/psychologist for about 8 months. In that time period she was gotten me to retrain my brain and get rid of that awful diet word from my vocabulary. She has made me realize to pay attention to my body for clues on when I am actually hungry or if I am eating for other reasons bored, stress, etc.. She has also given me tools to help me in this life changing process. I know that some of these habits were from my childhood that can be changed and broken. I would highly recommend Barbara!! Thank you so much, Barbara!!!

Barbara has been my dietitian for the last year or so.
She has helped me to have a better --non-contentious -- relationship with food.
I used to alternate between dieting and giving up on dieting and eating ALL THE STUFF that I wasn't allowed to on the diets.
I no longer see food as having a moral value. Barbara has taught me about the body needs and how to listen to/feel what MY body needs and eat accordingly.
Overall, Barbara has helped me to change my life for the better.

When I first developed my eating disorder I saw Barbara Cox, and she engaged in several practices that I now know, after several instances of relapse and treatment at other places, to be very detrimental to the process of recovery from an ED. Every week she showed me my weight and how much I had gained on a chart, which I now know is the exact opposite of what you should do during the weight restoration process. When she first weighed me she told me that I had "beat" my sister (who was also seeking help at the time) at weight loss. EDs thrive off of competition and I can't believe that a professional
