After 15 long years in the hospitality industry, cycling enthusiast Luis Ibarra decided to open up a bike shop in his hometown of Poway, California. The opening of Poway Bicycle was a true family undertaking with Luis' dad and closest friends focused on the construction of the store while his wife took on the administrative responsibilities to make this dream a reality.
Doors opened in November of 2014. Luis hired on an amazing team of loyal professionals who have built our success to what it is today. Through mountain bikes races, Thursday night shop rides, and countless community events Poway Bicycle had taken on a life of its own. In April of 2016, Luis jumped on the opportunity to expand the family business and opened another store.

I had a good experience at the Bike Shop at Del Sur, also called Edison Cycle co. My rear cog set was worn out and they ordered me a replacement. It was an high end obscure brand and took longer to arrive than expected. When it arrived they called me and I expected that I would need to leave the bike for a few days. Quinn the mechanic popped my bike on the rack and said he would finish in 10-15 minutes so I would not need to wait a few days for my bike. He also identified that I should replace some bearings and ordered them for me to get fixed later.

I really wanted to frequent this bike shop. They are friendly, and have a great process for scheduling service.
We bought my daughter's bike here.
Issues:
1) Missed the delivery timeframe multiple time. Even though they had the bike, they kept giving us times on when it would be assembled, then missing those times.
2) Did not help set the bike up at all for my daughter. No seat height adjustment, no brake position or shifter position adjustment.
3) After she had the bike for a few weeks she mentioned the rear wheel felt "weird". Turns out the rear wheel had not been fastened tightly enough
We bought my daughter's bike here.

Where to start. I took my e-bike in to have the brakes bled and a general tune-up and also see if they could fix the sensor on the rear brake. 2 weeks pass and I call them today and the guy makes up some story about how my sensor plug is a mismatch. Wrong it's the original sensor plug that came with the bike. So no worries I'm sure all the other work is being completed right? Nope nothing else done on the bike whatsoever. What's really discerning is I did not receive a phone call from these guys and every time I go in there it's the most discombobulated and chaotic retail environment

Dropped in for a loose brake on my road bike. Minor issue and they were very willing and nice enough to fix it on the spot. Excellent group of people working there that worked together to fix my bike super quickly, and also gave me a couple spare parts from the parts bin that I was asking for. Super knowledgable, helpful, and friendly, with excellent service to boot. Plus, a dog!

Very helpful employees! I took my stationary bike to them to fix the bottom bracket and they took it off even though it was very stuck and recommended better practices and where I could get a replacement and the tools so I could repair it myself later. Would definitely go there again for bike stuff.

These guys are great!
I called this morning to see if they could repair a fat bike tire.
Not only could they do it, but they could do it as soon as I got there.
I dropped the tire off, asking them install tire liners while they were at it.
I walked over to Rubio's for lunch, and my tire was ready to go when I got back.
They aren't afraid to work on ebikes, so it looks like I found my new bike shop.

Great customer service...can't say enough about how awesome these guys are. Always warm and welcoming, always knowledgeable. My last visit I needed a small speciality screw over the weekend that I couldn't find anywhere else (needed to complete a maintenance job).
I called the shop and they told me although this screw is typically not in stock, they'll go through used parts to try to salvage a matching screw for me...How awesome is that!
I showed up 30min later, brought my broken screw for matching and it took Eddie 5min to find me a perfect match. And that wasn't the best thing out if this story

I was in need of a bike and was greeted with such great service. The staff was very knowledgeable, listened to my needs and help me pick a bike best suited for me. I highly recommend this shop. Outstanding service and reasonably priced bikes and gear! Love the new shop in town. Will def be back again!

Bought a hybrid bike last weekend from the Bike Sop at Del Sur. Great customer service! Jason was very courteous and helpful. He answered all my questions and let me test ride the bike without asking for my DL and CC like other shops. I appreciated that. Jason adjusted the gears and checked everything out before helping me load the bike into my car. I live in San Marcos...sure there are some local bike shops near me but I would rather make the trip to this shop for the excellent customer service alone. They seem to have a good and capable service department as well. I highly recommend this shop
