We had a great dinner at Taurus. Ordered the Tomahawk, Wagyu sampler, mac & cheese, truffle mashed potato, brussels sprouts, squash (too dry) and a couple of desserts.
The tomahawk was the best one I ever had. We like it charred and it was served sliced. It was perfect. Would come back just for that. Friendly staff and service was good.
It's a high end steak house and definitely a splurge but worth it.

Food was exceptional just wished staff worked together cohesively to provide a more seamless dining experience. It's unfortunate that for this upscale steakhouse that the overall service level lacked and made for an all around inattentive evening. It wasn't even busy but it was like the staff didn't care to work together to try and tend to the patrons all together. I understand dining out has changed in the past year and definitely empathize if places are understaffed. However, there's just a little expectation of slight effort to be in order really bring value to delicious

A memorable meal in the heart of downtown San Carlos! I came here with my girlfriend and my dad on a weekday evening. We were feeling fancy and had heard good things about this fairly new eatery in San Carlos. We arrived around 6PM and were promptly seated outdoors, which had heating units. The menu consists of a mix of appetizers, steaks, seafood, and sides. We were feeling carnivorous that day and went straight for some of the appetizers and meat options. The items are a bit on the pricier side since this is a nice steakhouse, so we expected great things with the meat that we ordered. Here&apos

The best steakhouse in San Carlos, or even the entire Bay Area. Their steaks are cooked perfectly to medium rare and never over cooked. All of their sides and appetizers complement the steak options. My
Absolute favorite is the Brussels sprouts. They also put in the effort to switch around their menu often to go with the season. They also have a sommelier on site and he will recommend the best drinks you can imagine! Ask for Ian!
We will definitely be back.

We have been here a couple of times and both times were wonderful! The drinks are delicious and the food is pretty amazing.
We ordered a dz oysters and they were so fresh. Not too big or meaty. The bone-in ribeye we ordered was cooked perfectly, exactly the way we like it. We ordered almost all the sides.
Parmesan fries - they were good, crispy but soft on the inside. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I love all fries.
Truffle mashed potatoes - to die for! Super smooth and creamy with amazing flavor.
Sweet corn - delicious! Went perfect with the truffle mashed potatoes
Brussle sprouts - Good flavor

We got dinner over there for 3 people and ordered 2 salad and 2 ribeye stakes and one regular beef stake for $360 !!!
BTW they ask us to pay for the sides
I know a bunch of awesome restaurants in that area because we have plan to take a dinner in restaurant weekly i never paid this much.
If you don't mind to pay approximately $120 per person it's a good place because the foods quality was very good but if want to pay compared to quality don't choose this one

Been here twice now and both times were phenomenal. My latest visit was a larger party of 6, and we had a nice room off the bar that was private. This space has open windows that they open for lunch and early dinner but when we were there, they were closed as they had live music right outside.
This room was a bit on the louder side too since it was off the street and the bar.
Decor was modern, minimal, clean. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
Food was heaven. If you're a steak lover, this is your place.
We ordered two zabutan ribeyes, medium rare. I'd say they were cooked

On a whim booked this restaurant for my wedding anniversary as I wanted to try something new...
This meal was so amazing! Seriously up there and even surpasses some Michelin star restaurants I have been to.
The service was fantastic, friendly and super knowledgeable of food and drinks (thanks Ian!)
And the food was absolutely amazing, everything was perfect!
We got oysters, the carpaccio, the Spinalis cut domestic wagyu, summer beans, charred tomato with burrata, the steak skewers, fries and corn. To finish we got the caramelized banana ice cream sandwich as well as the Yuzu ice cream sandwich

For us, this place was not memorable at all.
Not one amazing dish.
Everything was just ok, including service - super serious waiter that we had, never smiled and wasn't really checking up on us.
They have a great wine list and lots of wagyu choices.
We ordered a lot of different dishes, since it was our first time and we wanted to try everything , but as I said, not one dish wowed us.
Also two desserts that we tried were horrible. So sugary, it was impossible to have more then two bites.
$750 for 3 people. Everything is priced ok, but for that money I expect the food to be absolutely perfect

If you want to dine in the best steakhouse in the peninsula you've come to the right place. The steaks are prepared to your exact temperature and the smoothness as well as the juiciest is so good. With any steak you order please pair it with the truffle mash potatoes and the mushrooms. You will not be displeased.
Now the drinks are prepared by a great bartender named Brandon. Not only are their house cocktails are balanced but his knowledge exceeds the average restaurant bartender. Enjoy as I have.

We had a lovely date night here and befriended the amazing sommelier Ian Ranney -- and when we realized that our next date night was going to be in two weeks on April 1, I asked if they would be doing to create a custom menu for April Fool's Day.
They obliged and created a hilarious menu with a first course of "cupcakes" (actually Wagyu meatballs with mashed potato) and so on. What fun! Superb service. Delicious food. And one of the most fun sommeliers I've ever met.

Yes it is fancy in here. During covid the menu is straight forward just one page definitely a place you must try. Date night with the missus been almost 2 years since eating in house due to covid, glad to have sampled their offerings
Here is a break down of everything sampled and how everything faired. Started off with the dungee crab fritters, and divers scallops. For starters portion is fairly small 3 scallops on a pureed mash with slight curry taste and they were topped with thin sliced veggies, did it taste good yes, but only 3 grilled pieces???

Wow. After years of searching for a great steakhouse on the Peninsula, I can finally say I've found something good. I was skeptical but after reading through Yelp reviews I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did.
Overall, this place was great. We went during the COVID quarantine, so we sat outside in the middle of Laurel St and ordered off a limited menu. I will say upfront that the service suffered. I hope this was due to the fact that they had just reopened for seated meals and not a lasting issue. We didn't get any walkthrough of the menu / meat types and despite mentioning ahead of time

Dinner 7-9-20. Our Rib eye and filet mignon was perfectly cooked at medium rare and seasoned very well. The octopus and herb salad were great appetizers. We had cheesy fries, broccolini and mashed potato which were all wonderful. Baklava dessert was fantastic. We did not leave anything on the plates, it was do good. Great evening with great service. Will be back again for sure!

There are few high end steakhouses that can take your breath away with rare cuts selections, professionally prepared and served by the chef. This recently opened gem of a restaurant delivered on all of our expectations and then some. Wagyu from Japan, Australia and more. Their case had me drooling. And everything delivered. It may be $$$$ but we went as a group to celebrate a few birthdays and the experience was worth the price. As your servers for their advice and eat family style. Extensive wine, bourbon and whiskey selections as well. We will be back soon.

We checked out this restaurant during their soft opening. There is a process before ordering where they introduce you to all the types of meat on the menu. It gives perspective in what you are ordering. Highly recommend the Taurus wagyu, prime rib, need tartare, truffle potato salad and heirloom tomato with burrata.
