Mistral Restaurant & Bar is a waterfront restaurant located in Redwood Shores for 25 years. Chef Dylan is talented! Our family came here for New Years Eve dinner and the set menu was such a culinary delight. The star dishes were the hamachi amuse Boucher and the delicate squash ravioli. My family order two lobster tails and everyone each one. Haha
The ambiance was festive and holiday. Even better we're the outdoor seats with plenty of heating. We weren't cold at all and the staff were AMAZING! Such a friendly group of folks. Staff were also really amazing at COVID safety and protocols. We felt safe the whole time.

OK, prices higher probably due to covid, I don't like it but understand.
Skirt steak taste same but portion is about 40% smaller.
Placed on top of mashed potatoes which are spread out very thin to give appearance of prior portion but absolutely much smaller.
Even carrots are thin sliced serving about 6-7 slices, rabbits get more than this, Used to be whole baby carrots. Also 6-7 1inch green beans, excellent size for a small child.
So, after over 15 years as a customer, no longer my go to place.

We went here as a group and have high expectation since its a recommendation. The service was slow. One of my teammates asked if her order can be served by 7pm since she has flight to catch. The server assured us that it will be served before 7pm. Unfortunately, she left and the food was served 710pm. I ordered Surf and Turf and medium for my meat. The NY steak and lobster were dry. The risotto looked like fried rice.

Honestly, I'm giving it 5 stars because it is a really nice experience. The waitstaff is really professional and attentive. The drinks taste great. The woodfired pizza is extremely tasty.
I think it's a great place for a special occasion. I'm not sure why some people say the service is bad. I didn't have that experience. Everyone was lovely.

"A Must Visit restaurant". What a dining experience and the food here is Fantastic. Attentive front door, waiter, and water refill. A delicate and romantic ambient perfect for a date. I ordered the Pan Roasted Prime Sirloin "Au Proivre" with potatoes and hen of the woods, by far I would say a Supreme Steak perfectly cooked. The steak was perfectly seasoned and the sauce that came with it was amazing. My date had the Half Whole Roasted Duck and Wild Mushroom Risotto, it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked duck with incredible taste.

We had our Minimony on Sunday 10/10/21 at Mistral Restaurant.
OMG, the whole event was PERFECTION!
We did the Minimony outside by the water's edge - what a setting!
The staff was on point with their service!
The food was amazing.
We got so many compliments on our beautiful event and this Venue. We had perfect weather and the fireplace, fire pit, lighting, candles - the ambiance was amazing. Gin, the Private Dining Manager was an amazing partner throughout the whole planning and execution!
Oscar was SERVER OF THE YEAR, and all of the wait staff was AMAZING! Thank you SO MUCH for making

Came here with my wife on our honeymoon. Was a fabulous experience from decor to the food. Note, it is an upper class restaurant so food and wine is a little pricey. However, absolutely worth it. Pictures include Halibut and Creme Brule.

Food was absolutely delicious. The roasted duck was melting in the mouth and pared to the very creamy mushroom risotto, it created a gastronomic creamy explosion. The pan roasted steak was very tender and the sauce that glazed it made it more exquisite. The grapefruit flavor signature cocktail was absolutely delicious: a very smooth grapefruit taste followed by the liquor sting, that created a very layered taste experience. Overall this place is one of the best restaurants in Boston. And unlike other other high-end restaurants, the serving plates are quite big. Would go back 10/10.

Absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant in Redwood Shores! The drinks were great and the food was delicious. We had the paella and the NY Steak with garlic duck fat fries. Everything was cooked well and was delicious! Their dessert cocktails are also a must try! Very friendly staff and great ambience all around!

I went to Mistral for the first time with my husband for my birthday. The restaurant has beautiful decor with a modern style, and is very open and bright. Our servers were very friendly and polite. Our waiter was highly knowledgeable about the menu too, and I was very impressed that the majority of the menu could be made gluten free (I have an allergy). Each table had their own freshly baked loaf of bread too (I had freshly baked gluten free rolls, which were SO tasty!) and there was a lot of choice on the food and drinks menu. All our food tasted amazing and portion sizes were very generous too

I came here for a company dinner and would probably come back. We had a few fixed options to choose from and I had the New York Steak and duck fat fries. I just had my steak leftovers today and it was still delicious. I don't usually order steak when I go out, but this one was delightful. Also the beef skewers were so tender I could melt. YUM!

Let me just get this right out of the way that this place is pricey and to go here with that expectation.
I had a mushroom salad and Cornish hen. Both were outstanding and one of the best meals I’ve had. The hen in particular was a flavor explosion and extremely juicy.
I took my dad who was equally impressed.
The staff are very, very attentive, but not enough to be bothersome. These people are professionals. There was never a time my glass of water ever made it past halfway full before it was refilled. They even combed the tablecloth after we ate the bread they served before the appetizers

Food and ambience were great - 4 stars! The skirt steak, salmon, bread at the table, dessert - truly good and this is a hidden gem in RWS. Highly recommend on those fronts. Oh, and service was great for the table next to ours but read below for our experience.

Fabulous dinner for my mother on her birthday! The staff, service, and food were all superb. This is definitely a must trust! We were seated in the cute outside section. I had the burrata, surf and turf, and the cheesecake. The burrata had a lot of flavor and was perfectly creamy. The steak was actually one of the best steaks I've ever had from flavor to tenderness. The cheesecake is something I will dream about! The cheesecake comes with a lemon purée on the bottom. Hands down an incredible and memorable experience and 100% will be coming back!! The chef here knows what they're doing

I don't know how else to explain it but just based in the service alone, I would not come back. The food was so bad I can't even remember what we ordered. I think we got the fish, paella, salads, and some sort of soup.
All I remember was that they somehow forgot to order the paella, and it tasted like they spilled a whole thing of salt on the fish. It was a very long and hopefully forgettable night.

I imagine during pre Covid times , this place must have been a great corporate expense account destination . Tonight it was quiet and at least our waiter , was disappointing.
One of my friends has celiac disease and when he politely asked the waiter about items on the menu, he was sorta not taken seriously . We finally had to ask for the chef ... he was knowledgeable and helpful . Unfortunately we had the same waiter all
Night and he did not improve . I will skip the details ... suffice to say, he even gave our bill to the wrong table and had to explain why there were adjustments when

Mistral's has gone downhill. We went yesterday for Mother's Day where we were seated outside which was fine. It was hot and sunny and no umbrellas. People were playing musical chairs to get into the shade due to elderly grandmothers and mothers. One family even brought camping chairs with built in shelter.
They had a decent looking fixed menu, however it took 30 mins before we saw a server, another 45 minutes before the salad and soup came (which was sub-par), no starter like others received, and didn't see another server again for another hour to tell us that our food

Came here for a friends birthday and was not disappointed.. I was worried about a 6:30 reservation with the weather being so cold and the restaurant being off the water.. thank god our group was lager so we were seated my the fire pit and in between two heating lamps.. the service was soo amazing .. our waiter and the staff really took excellent care of us .. a party of 7 women could be a lot to handle .,

Made reservations for 9 on a Tuesday evening, which probably wasn't needed. Originally reserved at 6 pm but they were able to seat us at 5 (I called ahead to make sure). The kitchen didn't open till 5:30pm so we had drinks in the mean time.
Great spot for drinks and appetizers! Lots of shareable items. Our whole table concluded that the main entrees fell short. The risotto that came with the scallops was more like wet rice. It didn't have the right consistency. Ravioli's were decent, but not amazing. The bass felt on the dry side. Overall, they were not as great as the appetizers
