Fran Weiss is an Associate Clinical Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the Departments of Psychiatry and Environmental Medicine & Public Health. She is known for her pioneering work connecting early attachment derailments and trauma with dysregulated eating, obesity, and body image issues.

As an expert in group psychotherapy she is part of the training program there for psychiatry residents where she co-leads process groups of residents focusing on group and individual dynamics and interpersonal communication. A New York State Licensed Psychotherapist, Certified Group Psychotherapist, and Board Certified Diplomate, Fran has also been acting as an effective "change agent" for her private patient population for decades.
