Veloworx is a full service independent bicycle shop located in Santa Monica, California. We are a mile from the coast with some of the best road riding in the country and 4 miles from the Santa Monica Mountains with equally awesome mountain biking. There is no better place to be for cycling in the country!
Our shop is built on the idea that good service is more important than anything else. The fact is that parts wear out, things break, and that new bike doesn't stay new if not properly maintained. By all means, go out there and ride your bike hard. Get it dirty. Push yourself and your bike. But treat your bike right, too.

Veloworx owner Sukeon is a meticulous mechanic and one of the very few people in whose hands I trust leaving my precious bike. He is also very knowledgeable about all the latest technology and can discuss the pro's and con's when you're making buying decisions. He most definitely does not just try to sell you the 'latest and greatest'.

Great bike shop run by good people. I know bikes and I went to two of the “big” bike shops in Santa Monica and they didn’t have the part I needed and one (rhymes with melons) tried to convince me that I should actually get three parts that they didn’t have but could order. Went to Veloworx, not only did they have LOADS of options across a bunch of price ranges they were also knowledgeable and helpful. This is my new shop in LA!

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think so! This is the GREATEST bike shop ever owned by a husband and wife whom know their stuff and want you to have the best of everything.
When I got my bike they didn’t treat me like I was passing through just because I wasn’t sure. I tried it out, and said I was going to think it through. I waited a couple days and came back then I purchased. Every time I’m there (which has been a few times for accessories now, and I got two friends to buy their bikes there) I love their vibe. They always walk the walk and talk the talk. Very honest and genuine people

Road Bike Review This review is for anyone with a true road bike, especially those bikes on the higher-end. HUGE mistake coming to Veloworx after using Helen's and VeloFix (never confuse Veloworx with VeloFix as they couldn't be more opposite). I could go into details but the point is the degree of expertise and care are far greater at other bike shops around town than what you will get from Veloworx. After less than 2 weeks post their tune-up, I had to bring in VeloFix (they come to you home in their sprinter vans) to adjust all the wrong adjustments that Veloworx did. And yes, I gave the owner

I walked into the shop looking for a gravel bike. Sukeon showed me a few options that he had in stock, let me ride them down the block, and helped me select the Lauf True Grit. I couldn't be happier with this bike for LA riding (roads and trails)!
He also assembled another bike I brought in, ready the next day. I really appreciate their quality and high level of service.

Ordered a Yuba electric bike over the phone before my move to SoCal. Everything was done over the phone and communication was good. Pick-up of the bike was quick and easy with social distancing/ masks required. Everything on the bike is nicely and correctly assembled! Staff were kind and friendly. They also have cute dogs!

We bought a $400 bike here a year ago and have already had to replace both tires. We actually were understanding and bought the replacement here in order to support our local bike shop. But, the tire wasn't properly rotating and when we took it in were met with frustration and negativity. We completely understand the stress and demands on the business due to Covid, but after all of our patience and understanding, this is uncalled for. This is one local business we will no longer support.

I'm pleasantly impressed with Veloworx. Not sure why the negative reviews. I've been to the shop twice. The first for a test ride, and the second was for a brake pad replacement. In both instances, I received nothing but excellent service. The owner / staff patiently answered all my questions about the bike, and during my second visit, they gave me honest advice that my brake pads and tires were both still good. Even though they had to remove my front wheel to remove the brake pads to examine them, and then put everything back, they didn't charge me a cent. This is definitely my go to my go-to

This is the shop for you if you want honest, straight-forward service. Sukeon will not tell you you need something you don't, and has even talked me out of more expensive items when he thought they were unnecessary. He did the best bike fit I have ever had, and it didn't take 3-4 hours like many of the other local shops. He is quiet, but very nice when you get to know him. There are many shops closer to me, but I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

My friends bought me a dope fat tire cruiser from this place and it came with a super good warranty and I took it in and got a free tuneup after six months! I think the free tuneups actually go until three years! I dropped it off and just picked it up all tuned up and it rode great, especially the brakes. They were cool so I’m leaving a review.

They really know what they're doing. After driving all around town trying to find a bike rack, and being given confusing guidance along the way, they were able to help me quickly and confidently. They also offered to build the bike rack and install it on my car, which was incredibly appreciated. Great customer service.
I should also note that I got my bike from them a few months ago and it's been perfect. I really value their confidence in helping me - so many wishy washy sales ppl without the breadth of knowledge that these guys have.

I bought a fuji bike from veloworks, they told me what a great bike it was when I bought it and that it had a 12 month warranty. I really do like the bike, after 11 months the rear axle broke. When I called they told me it would take 2 weeks to get a new rear wheel under warranty or I could buy one for $60 and they could fix it right away. I brought it in and told them I thought it should be covered under warranty. The Chinese man told me a bike of this quality you should just buy a new one when it fails. I guess I am too nice, because I just paid to get it fixed, BUT I would strongly recommend

Having worked in bike shops for years I know a good shop when I see one. This is a good bike shop! Sugon knows his stuff and gets straight to it. The work is consistent, quick and appropriately priced. My machine is high-end road BMC SLR01 Team Machine and I would trust Veloworx with anything it needs.

Had nothing but great experiences here. Very knowledgeable staff. If you slow down and take the time to appreciate this family run business, you can learn a lot about biking/trails/equipment.
If you purchase a bike there, they'll often give you free lifetime tuneups. A real deal.
Purchased a bike there and a surf rack for it. Great selection of top line equipment.
They also beautifully restored my late 60s Falcon.
Minus half star for high prices. But this is a premium shop and you get what you pay for. Quality is worth it.

OK. So now I'm totally a huge fan and I regret all the time I've wasted going to other shops around town that are bigger and have less personal service. The owner at Veloworx may seem a little aloof but I think it's that he's more shy and some people make the mistake of judging that (me included). He's super nice once you get to know him. I got to chatting with him on a ride and decided to give the shop another chance and he's been ultra helpful on a few repairs and advice, and his prices on accessories is totally reasonable. There aren't too many independent

What a magical place. I love bikes and getting to see so many beautifully curated in one place is a treat. I came in for a single tire and was given more than enough time and consideration. I came in looking to see what i might be lucky and find in stock. Owner was more than willing to pull catalogs and help me find an odd ball size to fit my needs. Trying to fit a tire on a 3 inch hoop but not having room for side wall buldge and also limited profile room to fit my stays...
So yeah my request was difficult and time consuming... Was again for just one tire.
I felt like i was treated same if i

These guys saved our lives in an emergency! TSA broke my dad's bike that was needed for a race the next day. We were recommended to this place by more than one cyclist. I am SO glad they told us about Veloworx! While Sugen (the bike guru here) didn't have the part needed, he was able to figure out a fix so my dad could ride the bike in the race. This guy knows his stuff. He is an expert in the field, and perhaps the best bike mechanic anywhere. And there was another guy there that was so helpful, and understood how important it was to get the bike fixed. I can see why all the

Hmmm...I'm not understanding why people claim that the owner is rude or whatever...
Suken is cool. His shop is top of the line. It's not cheap to shop here so be prepared to spend your hard earned money on a killer bike. If you're looking for some super cheap bike shop with an overly excited salesperson, then go somewhere else.
As far as I'm concerned, both of my e cargo bikes purchased from Veloworx are awesome. They have completely changed my life in LA. Suken went out of his way to help me over and over... He never made me feel ignorant or feel like a total newbie. His

Such an amazing experience from start to stop. We went in with a specific bike in mind and they not only had the perfect fit, but the owner was so accommodating, kind and knowledgeable. He didn't sell or up sell us anything. We left with two bikes, two helmets, a basket, locks and a beautiful bell. I highly recommend this place. It's a gem and the owner is a serious biker who's been in the business for 20 years. It shows.

Went in today to try to figure out the right size road frame - have been hunting around on craigslist, and wanted to stop wasting my time and others and narrow down what might be a good fit. I guess letting them know right out of the gate that I was looking for their professional opinion rather than to make a purchase maybe changed things, but the guy at the counter (owner?) basically gave me a wishy washy answer about how each bike is totally different and theres basically nothing he could help me with, and that the rest was left to personal preference. I left with no more clarity than I had arrived

I'm not sure why all the harsh reviews. I just bought a new Fuji here, and I thought the customer service was fine. The staff wasn't all over me, but was veey helpful and patient once I started asking questions.
More important, they didn't try to sell me a bike I didn't want. Even though 99% of my riding is on roads, I prefer the geometry and feel of a MTB. I also like a higher angle stem for a more upright riding position. Every other store kept trying to sell me a hybrid, or tried to talk me out of a stem swap because "my position was correct for a MTB". I know
