Bike Curious Rentals

We go here every time!! Always a Groupon available, and the owner's a good guy. Super close to the beach and boardwalk too!

We ended up with 2 bike rentals all day (from 9am until 4:30pm) for $20 on Groupon. The bikes we got were plain black cruisers, but the owner gave me a basket which was helpful and we brought our own helmets. We were helped instantly, it was early and not busy yet. We had smooth rides with no mechanical issues.
We enjoyed biking down the path up to Malibu and hen back down through Venice. I have lived in California all my life and this was the most Californian thing I've ever done! I highly suggest it for tourists and locals alike and you can't beat the deal here. The real convenience

Saw this on groupon, $20 for two all day rentals. Hubby and I planned to spend a day at Venice Beach and thought it would be fun to ride bikes. Finding the place was kind of hard. There are no obvious signs, but we eventually found it. Bikes were decent, not too big and heavy for me, and just the right size for my hubby. I was given a basket for my bike. We had no complaints. It was easy to rent and easy to return.

Note: Bike locks are $3 for rental. Bring cash.

So hard to find this place. It's just before the shops to the beach. There's a small sigh that says, "yes this is bike curious rentals." lol

Found a deal on Groupon or else I wouldn't have known this place. Such a great deal and the bikes we're decent. I would hit up this shop when visiting Venice.

With the Groupon deal, you get a bike to use for $12. The bikes were in a somewhat dilapidated condition - rusted in areas and seats that look like they've seen much better days. But, hey, it moves and gets you from point A to point B so I can't really complain too much.

The only thing that I had an issue with was the service. The man got two adult sized cruisers for my friends. Before he could get a third bike down, I specifically told him that I needed a smaller sized bike. Having rented bikes before, I know that I can't handle a large bike because I'll lose control

I haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid and was excited to see how much of it I had retained over the many years of not even having gotten on a bike. They say that when you stop doing something for a long period of time, "it's just like riding a bike." Well, I was going to test this saying myself as I chose to head down to Venice Beach on a cool Sunday afternoon to enjoy a day riding bikes along the pier.

Best deal around for bike rentals. We bought a Groupon which gave us all day use of 4 bikes for $36.

This place is only steps to the beach and for being kind of a hole in the wall, had a decent amount of bikes available. They have kids bikes as well, but not a big selection. One thing to note is their hours. We came at 4pm to find out they close at 5:30. Our fault for not checking, of course.

Bikes: beach cruisers look worn but operate just fine. Baskets are available as are lock rentals.

Service: very courteous. You'll need to let them hold some form of id.

You get a pretty standard "beach bike" - nothing fancy. Let me say that I live in LA and really don't like Venice beach but I had a Groupon and found this place to actually be one of the more professional places on the boardwalk. The man there that day was nice and so long as you aren't high-maintenance or expecting something particularly high-tech you should be fine. They hold on to your ID - I got mine back.

I was visiting my friend in LA and she had suggested a Groupon that her and her boyfriend had used to bike to Santa Monica pier. I bought it for $11 all day ride. Brian threw in a basket and lock for free, maybe because I had so much trouble pulling off the voucher on my 3G phone. I ended up connecting to the Wifi next door.

The store is easy to miss especially if you're driving. I would suggest parking first in the general area and walking towards Venice Beach to find his booth.

Brian is very friendly. He matched a groupon price for me. Also gave me a free water bottle when I returned the bike. It would highly recommend renting from this shop. It's right on Venice beach.

Grab a bike and cruise up the coast. You can ride from Santa Monica all the way to marina del Rey within an hour.

Well this guy "Brian" with an all british accent was really nice and helpful. We got a deal on Groupon; two bikes for a whole day 22 bucks. Pretty good! There was also a 10% discount upon check-in on yelp, but since we had already bought the deal, he gave us a basket and a lock for free.
Very nice guy, a very small store which is quite hard to locate in the hustle and bustle of Venice beach. It is cash only so unless you have bought a deal, do not forget to have cash on you, there is also an ATM inside.

Clean well taken care of bikes . The gentleman that helped us was very helpful giving us directions of what we should do and where we should go . The price was GREAT for a full day bike rental . They even have locks which made it even more fun, we road the bikes to breakfast ,lunch and stopped for shopping .

We were able to keep the bikes out till 5:30 which was really great !!

I love this little shop. I'm a repeat customer and both times I've purchased the $10 Groupon for a full day of riding. What a great deal!

The bikes have all been in good condition with easy to adjust seats for those of us with short legs. We rented a lock for an additional $3. I lock per 2 bikes. If you arrive later in the day don't worry if they are low on bikes, they will send you around the corner to another shop with more bikes.

The staff is always friendly and you're in and out in a few minutes. You do need to leave an ID so consider that if you plan on drinking.

Purchased the Groupon deal for $10 for the whole day rental. If you come early enough, public parking from the city on North Venice Blvd is the cheapest that we saw: $9 for the full day, when some of the surrounding lots will charge you $15 or $20 (or will flat out refuse and say they can't take your car for the full day).

We came here at 10am on a Sunday and it was pretty empty, but it filled up pretty fast by the time we were done signing contracts. The gentleman that services this location was really nice and very efficient. He closed at 4:30pm that day.

I have no complaints about this place. I actually found this place by accident when I saw some bikers in Venice with cute colorful bike cruisers with baskets. I had to stop them just to ask where they got their bikes. They told me they got their bikes from this place, "Bike Curious" so I walked on over.

They had their rentals listed at $20 for the day. So I checked to make sure if they had any specials

Biking in Venice is fun, but unless you have a house by the beach, it's not that convenient to own a bike. That's why these bike rental shops are so great. Bike Curious has a large selection, and I was so happy that they had a low to the ground bike for me because I hate riding higher. The employee will adjust the bike for you before you leave the store, and if your bike ever needs repair along the way, BC will reimburse you.

You can also rent locks here, and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I bought a groupon . . . All day biking for $10

We showed up to Bike Curious and were directed to another location right when they heard about our groupons. The other location wasn't that far of a walk but it was still a hassle.

The staff was nice but didn't seem like they could handle the rush of people, they seemed overwhelmed.

I give Bike Curious a 4/5 stars because I got an awesome deal. The staff was nice and accommodated my needs when it came to the right bike.

But, I think the real 5/5 stars go to bike riding along Venice! Bike Curious simply provided bikes to an amazing
