Services
In November of 1981, Milk Street Cafe opened its doors. It has since evolved into a Boston catering and Greater Boston premier corporate catering service, in addition to providing cafe service at 50 Milk Street.

Milk Street's commitment to everyday freshness - everything is made in-house, from scratch - and its commitment to customer service - our sales team is knowledgeable, our servers are always quick to help - has created a small community unto itself in the heart of Downtown Boston. Our commitment to the details comes from the top.
Restaurants all over the country have had to make incredibly hard decisions to close their doors over the past year due to the pandemic. The Restaurant Revitalization Fund only had enough money for 100,000 of 300,000 independent restaurants. This has left a huge economic imbalance in our industry and is causing more closures each and every day.
Our cafe is open 7am-3pm Monday through Friday. Come in to dine or place an order, pick up something from our grab-n-go fridge or order ahead of time for pickup. Per the city of Boston, face masks are required for all indoor guests over the age of 2. Masks may be removed when eating or drinking. For cafe deliveries to Brookline, Cambridge, Back Bay, Medical Area, Seaport and Financial District, find us on UberEats, Grubhub or DoorDash.
Each food dollar of catering equals one Milk Street Cafe Brownie Point (tax & delivery are not included). In each case a gift certificate will be issued for you to redeem with the Brownie Point Corporate Partner of your choice. Please check the website periodically to see if more Brownie Point Corporate Partners have joined our program!

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It was very tasty but it was quite small and unsatisfying for the price. I would not recommend eating lunch here unless you intend to order multiple items.

Great restaurant, great staff, great food. Definitely a good place to grab a (kosher) meal.

We spent a week visiting Boston recently and this restaurant was amazing!!! For anyone who eats kosher it is a godsend. It's right in the middle of the city, so the location is super convenient, and they have both a dairy section and a meat section. However, even if you do not specifically eat kosher, the food is so good (especially the pulled brisket 😋) it's worth a visit. Furthermore, the owner and all of the employees were a delight! Highly recommend! A gem in the heart of Boston!

Milk street cafe is amazing, they have a huge variety of food. From sandwiches to sushi to muffins to salad to fish. And all of it is so fresh and delicious. The cafe is clean and beautiful and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended

Milk Street Cafe has reopened with a joyful, hopeful celebration! I just happened to walk down milk Street during an overnight visit in town. Musicians were out and staff was bustling, so I changed my plan and stopped in. Yum!! Scones fluffy and flavorful and the breakfast sandwiches/wraps are so much better than standard fare! I hope they make it! Highly recommend!

Because of how busy this place gets during peak lunch hours, I went around 1:15pm and it was way less busy than if I went at 12-1pm time. I was able to get my buffalo chicken wrap right away and they put a good amount of chicken in it. I was able to substitute spinach for the carrot slaw. The chicken was spicy and flavorful. It was not fried which is great. For a $10 wrap, I was actually very full.
There were plenty of seating this time because I didn't go when it was busiest. I would say this place is a good lunch place when it is not chaotic.

While visiting Boston. I realize that Milk Street Cafe is like one of their chain coffee store like Starbucks. Since DD and Starbucks the line were extra long in the morning. Me and my friend decide to go to a little bit quieter coffee shop and sit there to find some activities to do. They do sell some bakeries good at the cafe. Overall, I would come here again. A little bit more quieter and the food/drink are good as well.

Very disappointed in my most recent visit to Milk Street. I heard they were serving the Impossible Burger, which is made with no animal products for a reason. When I went to grab one, they only had it with cheese on it. I asked for one without cheese, waited for the chef who told me it was too difficult to cook without cheese. I'm incredibly puzzled because it is made to be eaten with absolutely no animal product and if anything, the cheese is the special circumstance. Regardless of other food options, this was handled poorly and I didn't want to go back after this.

Don't go if you have allergies.
Went there for breakfast because my friends said it was a good place though they could not tell me what had nuts/peanuts and what didn't. They were also out of most foods. I tried to order a bagel and they only had 1 of 3 different types. They all looked disgusting. They could only promise that a plain egg was allergen friendly and it tasted like a moist sponge with hard cheese on top. The meat side however had better tasting food but same allergen issues.

Really close to my work place. Great for quick desert or sugar craving. It has good bars and cheesecakes. I love their 7 layered coconut bar and strawberry cheesecake.

We came here to meet a friend who is Kosher. It was busy and had outdoor seating but we chose to sit inside. We took turns getting food and figuring out the layout (pick the line with lemonade samples if you can) but everyone was friendly and helpful. I got the Milk Street Cobb salad (turkey bacon or tofu bacon) and it was good. Watching them prepare it was a treat too. IF we are in Boston again I'd love to try a dessert.

Sitting was more of a challenge, they need more space between tables, I agree it's kind of cramped if you are not a kid or super small. The goals most places is MORE

I stopped in this morning and ordered an avocado sandwich at a price of $9.00..I got to my office and opened the container and imagine my disgust because there's no avocado but it has and a thin slice of tomato and pieces of red onion. I basically paid $9.00 for 2 pieces of bread. Never again!

Its time I finally write a raving review for Milk St. Café! I order from here often to cater work lunches, events, meetings, etc. and I have NEVER been disappointed. Everyone always loves their sandwiches and cookies. Their salads are great too! No matter what sandwich, salad, wrap, etc. I try, I'm always satisfied. Additionally, they are very accommodating to almost all dietary restrictions, preferences, and allergies. Whether someone is vegan, gluten free, or kosher, Milk St. is able to adapt their menu items to fit specific needs.

The service at Milk St. cannot be beat. A huge reason

This is my go-to cafe for days that I forget lunch and I need a very quick bite for sustenance. It's like a mini cafeteria that offers a variety of food options -- from salads, to sushi, to sandwiches, to coffee. As a result, it's efficient and serves your basic lunch needs, but the food itself is average.

I usually get the soups, which are unremarkable. My latest order is the winter vegetable soup, which has squash and other vegetables. Soups come with free bread.

Seating is ample. There are crowds during lunch hours but lines move fast. I don't have much more to add!

I eat there a few times a week. Most because it's convenient. Salads and sushi are reliably good. I never get entrees but they look good and I hear good things about them. Breakfast is also quite nice.,

The ambiance it somewhat chaotic. Every station has it own cue line and registers are separate. First few time it was confusing but most peeps are regulars so they know the drill.

Although I have eaten at their tables once or twice, it's loud and a bit cramped. Better to bring food back to office and spread out.

If you want to seem important as a business person, this is a good coffee cafe. If you want a breakfast place to start the day off right, this is the wrong place. I had the breakfast burrito, sounded delicious. Except the ends were heated and the egg/cheese inside were still cold. Would not recommend it. It got two stars because I like sweets and they have those too.

We at our lab in MIT in Cambridge have suffered for years under the tyranny of cardboard cooking by Milk Street. They have made a model where they've convinced administration personnel that they can make it convenient to order by just "sending a one line email with the number of people" and then they send you back a prefab menu. (notice how all the other reviews are from the people ordering Milk Street, not necessarily people EATING Milk Street).

So it's VERY convenient. What they don't tell you is that your guests are going to be eating is so bland and jellylike in texture

If you're ever in need of a delicious tasting chocolate cake that is just the right amount of sweetness, you can not go wrong by going here. Their chocolate majesty cake is delicious. The fruit cakes are also fabulous. I recently had a wedding and I can tell you what, you can never go wrong with ordering their chocolate cake. I had guests asking me who did the cake and where they could get another. It is a chocoholics dream!

It was absolutely freezing cold and we had walked several blocks to go to a different salad joint , called Tossed. When we got there, they had decided to close early so we bent our heads to the wind and headed back to the hotel, quite unhappy. When we got back to Devonshire, we saw Milk Street Cafe and decided to go there instead.

Great choice! The servers were friendly and efficient and the salad was amazing. I still tell everyone I talk to about the chicken -- the quantity and quality!

My daughter ordered a Buffalo Chicken sub and had to remove some chicken just to be able to eat it. Lol

The worst thing about Milk Street cafe is that they close at 3pm.

Everything else is either fantastic or par for the course with a cafe-style eatery of this high caliber and excellence.

The fantastic things are the selection and the quality of food. From the bakery up front and the "hot selections" in the middle of the cafe, to the sushi and deli selections towards the back of the cafe, you will have a pretty hard time deciding what to try when you first get in. My recommendation? Start with one of their always-delicious soups and then continue your culinary journey from there. You
