Lakeview was referred to me after I had been with State Farm for 15 years.  I was hesitant to switch and wasn't sure what to expect.  It turned out to be a very positive experience. I've been a customer of Lakeview now for many, many years. My agent, Doris, and the Lakeview team are very responsive to any inquiry I might have, and I have continued to save money throughout the years that I've been with Lakeview.  Overall, it is a great relationship for me.

I like this place for a couple of reasons. One is that it's in the neighborhood, agents are people that live and work in the area and I like that connection. Secondly, they are pretty helpful and quick to respond to get your question answered. I've been with them a few years now and have been pretty happy with them. I can send and email or pick up the phone and get an answer same day. Also, I like that they can shop rates with different insurers.

I am quite surprised at the ratings because I have had a terrible experience trying to purchase Medicare insurance here. I have been a customer for a long time and find that there is one person who is extremely good and the agents around him have an attitude or something because it is difficult to get a return phone call. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a reply to a complaint letter directed toward the owner of this Agency but it appears that he can not be bothered.

Doris Ortega has been our agent over many years. She has the experience, wisdom, and professionalism that we have not seen in other agents with whom we worked. We feel very fortunate that our lives have intersected, and she is our insurance agent. We had an unfortunate event (upstairs neighbors flooded our condo) and she helped us in so many ways, from selecting the correct coverages and insurance company from the beginning that made a huge difference and helping us along the way with all of our questions and needs as our place was being repaired. Andy has always been helpful and treated me as an individual and not as a number. We never expected to have to utilize him, but with a couple of acts of nature that hit us close together Andy was there as it was happening, through final restoration tasks, and the times in-between helping us navigate the circumstances. I really like doing business with companies in my neighborhood. That being said, I can not recommend this company. With a insurance company communication is extremely important and this company is lacking in that department. They don't return phone calls or follow through with things they say their going to do. When they don't do the simple stuff how can you trust they'll be there when you need them? Avoid

I'm really happy with Carolyn's response time and attentiveness to my questions which I almost always ask through email over the years. This past year, I looked at Geico online to see if it would be cheaper than what I was paying which it was, and then I also looked at some sort of online broker, and when I reached out to Carolyn, she got me a quote which almost matched the ones I had along with my request to pay with credit card and monthly. Lake view insurance has always given me top notch customer service in the 10+years I have been with their company. They are honest about the coverage I need for both my home and auto. Here's the balls on the table truth..they are fine....until you have a claim.

I am a small brick and mortar business owner and I have had 2 claims in the 9 years I have been with Lakeview Insurance Company.

3 years ago I had a claim for water damage that came into my business from the apartment above. I had 20k worth of damage.

After months of headache, I only saw 8k of the water damage claim. It was so painful dealing with them that I gave up and wrote it off as a business loss.

I wanted to use a local insurance agent and being a true Lakeviewer, thought who could be better than these folks?! I mean, their Yelp reviews are really great amirite?
Unfortunately, after being with these folks and Progressive insurance for over a year now, I now know that these people are little more than middlemen who take your money. The customer service is terrible and their attitude towards their customers are extremely poor. At one point when I changed bank accounts they ignored my emails requesting they take note of the new bank info. Instead they just let my policy lapse without so much

I walk by their storefront on Southport all the time so when time came for me to shop for home insurance (oh the joys of home owning) I figured I'd give them a call and see what they offered. While I was at it I had them quote for auto insurance too.

They responded within a day with a couple different options plainly laid out for me to decide. The coverage they found was definitely the cheapest I saw which allowed me to get much higher coverage levels for the same price as minimum levels with other insurance companies. I paid by credit card and I was done.
