I was super excited to bite into my Doner Kebab Sandwich after eating the fantastic Shepherds salad. Unfortunately, the meat was ok and there was a distinct lack of juicyness in the overall sandwich. I was missing a sauce or other vegetables often found in doner kebab sandwiches.
It was ok but nothing I'd go crazy for.

I have eaten here multiple times because I love their Shish Kofte Sandwich. However, I recently ordered (through Postmates) that sandwich and the raspberry chocolate cake and I encountered the worst thing inside the cake. THERE WAS MOLD INSIDE. Please check your refrigeration system and disinfect it properly because this is beyond disgusting and not sanitary at all. Otherwise, I see the restaurant close down in the next few months for not meeting sanitary standards.

Had a great time with family visiting from out of town. Spacious, good service, decent parking, and delicious kebabs and gyros! I had the iskender kabob with some hot sauce and it was fantastic. We ordered the sampler as an appetizer and it was delicious too. Great family restaurant and I'd come back here again for sure.

Very disrespectful customer service. We went there to eat our lunch. Ordered our food waited long period of time, after having my plate i only bite once and there was hair, i politely ask waitress to take my food and cancel wich he did in the beginning them he came over our table and started arguing about how I ate my food halfway and them had a hair, then he accused me with coming there for different reasons not to eat my lunch. After all I ask him leave alone he still was talking saying something about us to his manager. Manager never came and apologized to us about all what was going. Very disappointed

I'd post a 0 if I could. I have completed 25 Yelp reviews for a variety of services. I have given a 5 star Yelp review for each of those businesses because of the professionalism and dedication to providing the highest quality of service each provided. I have the utmost respect for all who run businesses and the staff who work in them. I honor hard-working, respectful people who care and demonstrate their humanity as expressed through their work and how they treat others.
It is with that background that I regret having to say that I had just the opposite experience at Cafe Divan today

I ate here a year or so ago and found it mediocre, but my friend suggested going for dinner tonight, and I acquiesced. We were seated and asked whether we wanted anything to drink. I responded that I would just like water for the time being, and was told that the restaurant policy is to serve bottled water only. Thinking I had misinterpreted, I specified that I only wanted tap water, and was told that the restaurant refused to serve it. Luckily, my friend was amenable to leaving, so we did just that. We would easily have spent $120 there. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night. Instead

Absolutely horrible service. nobody came to the table for first 20 minutes. after flagging down a server and getting menus.. we had to wait another half an hour to order. The place was pretty much empty, however, other tables who came after us got service before us for being Turkish.
the server took our order probably 5 times and lastly bought a post it to write it down. He may have some sort of learning disability because he could not comprehend our order even though he was speaking English well. After ordering and waiting another 20 minutes, we had to flag down a manager for some water.. after

I was so shocked after dining there this evening that I speculated all the way home about how a restaurant in such a prime spot in Georgetown can get away with such horrendous customer service, mediocre food, and hideous plating. All I could come up with is that this must be a money laundering front for some organization that prefers that the business stay empty
I strolled in at 9:22 on a Saturday night on a jaunt about the City alone. I love Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine and was in the mood for lamb. I walked in and was ignored as I stood by the host stand. Then a server that

Went there for dinner yesterday to celebrate my SO birthday and we loved it, the food is amazing, packed with flavor!
We got the fried borek which was not too greasy and super yummy and a meze platter which was really refreshing.
The lamb and beef kabob was also grilled to perfection with a nice taste of charcoal.
A huge +, the place is quiet!!!! You can enjoy and have a nice intimate conversation without having to scream over the music or the other guests which is a big problem in most American restaurant.

Cafe Divan is a casual but nice restaurant serving genuine authentic Turkish food. The liver appetizer is to die for. The best doner kebab I have had outside of Turkey. You must try the lahmacun. The Thursday Special is quite ambrosial. We came home, plated our dinner, and thank god for silverware. Otherwise, I would have eaten a couple of my fingers without noticing it. The Special is that exquisite. The staff is very accommodating and my hat goes off to the Chef’s talent. Madam Mayor, you run a beautiful city and must try this restaurant.

I had a great experience here.
Let's start with the bread - absolutely delicious warm bread that goes scrumptiously with the olive oil on each table.
Small salads came out before our food, which surprised me because we had also ordered a Shepard salad, which I would have done if I knew this was coming out out. Added bonus. Shepard Salad - exactly what we ordered... nothing special.
Iskender Kebab - delicious. Fresh looked meat laid over bread with lots of yogurt sauce. Their version doesn't have much tomato.
Feta Cheese Pide - if you have never had one, do yourself a favor and try

I came here with a friend to try the Turkish coffee. The coffee had a great taste and flavor.
Normally, I have my coffee with a side of hot milk, but Turkish coffee is tradition had without any additions of milk and/or sugar (found this out after our meal).
However, I ordered a side of milk (which was not warmed) and after adding it, the texture of the coffee changed a little. I could tell it did not really fit together. I also noticed that the coffee had some sedimentation at the bottom, and tried to stay it and drink as part of the coffee, but it tasted a little grainy. My friend tried hers

Delicious Turkish and Mediterranean food in generous portions - I really enjoyed Café Divan and I'm already planning my next visit.
I gorged on the freshly baked flat bread and a spread of appetizers: a mixed meze platter, smoked eggplant salad, and lahmacun. My family enjoyed their sizable main entrees but I would definitely not miss the wood burning oven specials. I was so full I had to take home much of my entree, a savory, rich mushroom pide.
Service was prompt and friendly. A lot fits into the light-filled, angular dining room - a number of tables and booths split across two rooms

The food was good and the staff was nice. They were very catering to my friend who's a vegan and made sure that the dish was completely vegan for her. The lamb pizza is delicious and I don't even like lamb. It was well priced for regular meals but the kebabs were a little expensive. I would recommend for a quick lunch or out with a few people. If you want to try something new but also like to play it safe it would be a good spot!
