Here is what we have done, and are continuing to do, . Come and learn to ride without fear of falling using the balance bike method. The "balance bike" method:You probably already know how to pedal a bike from riding a tricycle, or on a stationary bike or with training wheels, so that's easy. The hard part is finding.

Beginning in 2001 with two organizers and a handful of committed volunteers, OCBC has grown from a small program conducting Earn A Bike classes into a robust resource for bike education in the Cleveland community.
OCBC is a non-profit, volunteer-driven cooperative bicycle education center offering riding and repair classes, refurbished used bikes for sale or rent, hands-on learning and shop credit for volunteering, and public shop use, advice, and assistance.

If you have a bicycle or related items you would like to donate please email us a clear picture to Info@OhioCityCycles.org (with BIKE DONATION PICS in the subject) and we will reply to let you know if it is something we can get back into the community quickly, or at least give you some ideas where to donate if we cannot accept it.
If you want to become a volunteer, and participate in our educational training as well as the work we do in the community, we ask that you first fill out our volunteer interests survey, and sign up for our newsletter to stay informed on new opportunities as they come up.
A fundamental part of OCBC's work is to effectively utilize labor from volunteers while advancing their education about bikes, mechanics, and basic job skills; especially how to work collaboratively in very diverse groups as usually found in our shop. Please select the times you are most typically available.

Want to get started (or re-started) cycling with a good, reliable bike? We can help you find the perfect fit according to your size, riding style, or intended destinations. We even have accessories - a trailer for going to the grocery store, or some waterproof panniers when you're riding to work. OCBC maintains a fleet of basic bikes for our education programs and rentals.
Selling safe, reliable used bikes is an important part of what we do, but our mission is to "help people use bicycles." So please look over all the information here, and we'll be glad to help you find a bike that fits your needs: if it's not a used bike from us, we'll direct you to a good, local, new-bike shop or another bike co-op that can help.

Great place for kids to learn how to ride a bike, take care of their bike, and how to place their helmets on properly. Jim had my son riding his bike with confidence so quickly I just stood there amazed. Sometimes having someone other than mom and dad is just what the kids need. Not only did my son learn to ride, it was also a tear free and fun experience. Thank you, Jim!

We had an old 3 speed Columbia Racer that needed repair. The repair shop told us how much it would cost to repair it. Then they told us about Ohio City Bike Coop.
We took the bike in and one of the staff helped unload it. Very nice people and they are doing a great job.
Easy to find, West 25th to Columbus Rd. turn by the park and go around back. Just look for the signs.

I'm very glad the Co-Op is there. It was a dream of Jim's and he's made it into a destination for people who want to donate parts and bikes to help the less fortunate as a place for them to get a mode of transport to help them get to and from work. So well done!
But, some of the parts, they are used. And they sell them as new. That's why I listed it a 4. I bought a headset from them and the item inside was not what the box was. So it was a cheaper regular loose ball bearing headset vs the Shimano Ultegra sealed cartridge bearing that was the box. If they'd told

Very friendly and helpful. Was hit by a car and staff pulled out some unique tools and worked with me to straighten out the bent parts and get my 50-year-old bike operational again. At the bargain price of $5/hour, I encourage anyone with bike issues to stop in at the Co-op and work in their shop with the experts to get things fixed.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. They have been patient and kind as they have fixed up my road bike and taught me how to care for it, as well as given me advice on the best biking routes around the area. The prices they charge for parts and repair are the cheapest you'll find in the area, and I love their mission. So glad I found this place! I've even been on one of their group rides and it was fun way to explore Cleveland.

Cleveland is extremely lucky to have the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op! Every major city should have a similar bicycle co-op providing bicycle education, advocacy, used bikes for purchase or rental, and training! I wish we had one in Dayton! The Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op is such a wonderful place that we have our Ohio Bicycle Federation meeting here each year! See you at the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op!

The Ohio City Bike Co-op is a non-profit organization that helps Clevelanders get out and riding on a bicycle to improve their resourcefulness and health.
I visited the OCBC recently with my son, but they did not have a bike that fit him. But they were willing to measure him vs the bikes they did have in stock. They have a ton of used bikes for sale at reasonable rates.
The location is in the flats on the Cuyahoga River and is beautiful.
If you need a bike, check here first!

Once mom gifted me her old bike, it was time for fiance to get one. We called here first and they understandably explained that selection is limited at the end of summer (we came around in August). They do most of the refurbishing over the winter, and spend the summer months doing classes for kids. They asked for height and was able to describe the types and bikes available that would be a good fit.
Come down, they'll let you take some test rides, and you can check out any hand-me-down low cost bike accessory you can think of. Bonus - you get a free tune up and they offer riding classes

I volunteered at Ohio City Bicycle Co-op through HandsOn NEO. It is a great place! The staff/volunteers are very friendly and not intimidating. All their bikes were donated to them from individuals, schools, city, etc. Then they are cleaned, and fixed if needed. You can buy or rent the bikes. They aslo have group rides.

This is a really neat group of people brought together by a mutual love of / need for biking. Their mission is to educate people about biking -- everything from how to tune and repair a bike for daily commutes, to advocating for bike friendly trails and events in the Cleveland area. They even rent bikes if you just want to try it out.
I went there when I was just starting to look into biking. They helped me determine which size and type of bike most suit my needs. They have a decent selection of bikes for sale at fair market value -- don't expect to find any steals -- and a neat program where
