If you struggle with a substance use disorder, the first step to taking back control of your life is to stop using drugs and alcohol altogether. Although this is often much easier said than done, medical detox can make the process safer and smoother. Under the care of experienced professionals, you can slowly break your dependence, work through withdrawal, and begin a rehabilitation program.
There are many levels of drug and alcohol treatment in Colorado. The type of care you or a loved one might receive depends on many factors, including the type and duration of substance use disorder. Some treatment facilities have a standard program, while others work with clients to develop a customized treatment plan based on their needs.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake offers continued support and increased independence for those recovering from drug or alcohol addictions. A common question, "What is IOP?" can be answered simply: In a full continuum of care (medical detox through outpatient treatment), this type of treatment is essentially the last step before outpatient.
Overcoming a substance use disorder is never easy, but a better life is worth the effort. With outpatient addiction treatment, those struggling with drugs or alcohol can understand the roots of their addiction, address any contributing mental health conditions, and set the stage for healing and recovery.
The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake aims to improve the quality of life for people struggling with a substance use or mental health. PLR is a truly great place. I am eternally grateful for the clinicians and staff that help make this establishment possible. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Thank you Ann, Cindy, Jodi, Robert, Rob, Arno and Dr. Garcia to name few! Sorry if I missed your name. Go here, do the work you need to do.

I know a couple of alumni who are still sober after several years, so l expected great things. I was hopeful...and I needed hope. What I was not expecting was, they treated myself! I didn't realize the underlying reasons why I couldn't break free. They left no stone unturned. Not only did I need the addiction information but they made it seem so meaningful and began to touch my heart. They also helped me to deal with past trauma I had stuffed up inside me. They unraveled the person I became in order to cope in life, although I wasn't really coping.... I was dying slowly. They helped me.... for

The Recovery Village has the community, education and trauma care I needed for me to finally understand what was going on. They provided me with the skills I needed to continue this enjoyable life. The kindness and understanding of the BHTs, clinicians and staff was unexpected and beyond amazing. Thank you to all the humans and wild animals that have made this possible! 💕 Merry Christmas!!

Recovery Village is an amazing place. I was referred by someone who had gone through treatment here and I’m so happy I made the step. I didn’t want to go to a treatment facility as large as RC but it exceeded my expectations. Even though it is larger and they were short-staffed while there, the staff was still amazing at one-on-one care. They will go above and beyond. After residential treatment, the groups become smaller and trust and confidentiality are key. The group therapists have all had their trials in life too and can relate. Nurses, group therapists, medical staff, case workers, BHT’s

I honestly believe that I owe my life to Recovery Village. I stayed here for almost 60 days, and I feel like a completely different person than when I first went in. I finally have a chance at succeeding in my sobriety! The BHT Audrey was amazing and therapists Arno and Ann really helped me through some trauma that caused my addiction in the first place. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking help for their addiction! They really do care about you here and go above and beyond to make sure you’re getting the care you need!

I admitted myself to Recovery Village in the summer of 2019. And I can honestly say I got the best care here that money could buy and I am still 100% clean and sober to this day. What I liked about this place was they treated my alcoholism as a real disease and not a moral failure and educated me and my family that my behavior wasn’t the real me and I was just very very sick. It was because of their knowledge and care that now 2 years later I am enrolled in college and making top dollar at an accounting firm when before I wasn’t sober enough to hold down a job at my local 24/hour fitness.

I had a wonderful experience at Recovery Village. I felt seen and heard by the staff as they guided me through my recovery. I gained knowledge and tools to apply to my recovery that I am forever grateful for. The facility was clean, the food was great, therapist and doctors on point. Over all very comfortable for what can seem a little uncomfortable at first. This was an experience I wouldn't trade for anything in the world and one I will never forget. If you are struggling, please know that Recovery Village is a wonderful place to find yourself again.

Such an amazing team of folks. They treat the underlying issues past and present and set you up for success long after your time there. All the different areas are excellent. They work with you from minute one to make the physical process of recovery as comfortable as possible. The food is amazing. The accommodations are very good. The atmosphere is fantastic! Nothing but good things to say here.

This was my first rehab and I was unsure what to expect, material and stay was amazing!! The staff is A-1 for the responsibilities they had and all willing to help! I wish there was more staff to help out though at times per current staff seemed stressed. Communication as well could definitely be better between clients and staff (not staffs fault seems to be communication from above). The new director Buck is not as involved/responsive with client needs. There is no Equine therapy and pool hours are depended on staffing, but they do their best. I would highly recommend Palmer Lake. Staff all has
