Saugerties Yoga
Join a yoga community that is passionate, determined, and supportive. Whether it's your first time stepping onto a yoga mat, or you're perfecting your scorpion, we've got you covered. Saugerties Yoga, formerly Saugerties Hot Yoga, specializes in all-level classes (with some specifically for beginners and advanced students) that connect each person walking through the door to their body through movement, breath and meditation.

Yoga is a transformation of the body, mind, and spirit. It starts with an exploration of our body. With yoga, we take a moment to stop and feel how our bodies interacts with the space and energy that surrounds and supports us. Take a moment now to start that discovery: Where is your body at this moment?
Services
Vinyasa and Flow : Through a flowing series of Vinyasa, this class moves fast, allowing you to reset your body, breath, and mind. Most are all level, but occasionally you'll find levels indicated to get a fuller grasp of the intensity of class. Beginners: The beginner-focused flow class is slower-paced for those who want to learn the fundamentals of a Vinyasa practice or get a refresher on the basics of postures and alignment.
We do offer scholarships and trade opportunities. All teachers and staff also receive free unlimited yoga. Apply here for a scholarship, and write Sarah for more details on joining our team or bartering. As a special for our re-opening we are now offering a special unlimited rate of $108, which will renew each month.
Christopher teaches Hot Vinyasa and Breathwork. His classes emphasize a steady and mindful approach to the postures, movement and breath, and as such, tend to be more slowly paced than the typical vinyasa class. Christopher started teaching yoga in 2008 in Logan, Utah, his hometown. He completed an immersive 200hr teacher training at the Lakshmi Rising school in Costa Rica.
About 22 minutes total, this meditation starts with breathe awareness and shifts to bringing awareness to all five of our senses. In this 22 minute meditation, we start with tuning into our body to release tension and end with a golden light meditation. Best done on a sunny day and in a spot you can lay down.
Finally, we are heading back to Peru in April of 2023! While the exact itinerary of the retreat will be updated in 2022, below is the 2020 description to give you an idea of what to expect. Email Sarah to be put on the waiting list and be eligible for a special early bird rate. There are no words that adequately describe the magical energy of Peru.

I recently discovered this place and I love it! I even enjoy the hot yoga, which I was not a fan of in the past. The teachers make you feel comfortable no matter what your level of practice is.

New owner mid-2019 added a ton of classes and workshops! Hot Vinyasa, Hot Bikram, non-heated classes, restorative yoga, Yin yoga, and breathing and meditation classes. I've been going a couple of times a week for six months and I love all the classes and instructors! (You may not see the entrance right away--you park behind the building and the studio entrance is a couple of steps down on the parking lot side of the building.)

This is my second google review because I literally can’t take how great this place is. The new owner Sarah has exactly what I’ve been looking for around here (non hot and hot power yoga) and is so incredibly encouraging and genuinely kind. What an amazing place!!!! 😍

Looking for a hot class while visiting the area we found this spot. Arrived early to find no one to check us in. Eventually a new (as in her first class teaching there) instructor arrived and did t know how to check us in and couldn’t take a credit card payment. Luckily I had cash and the former owner came in to take the class and knew where the change was. I’m not blaming the teacher at all, I own a studio and k ow how it goes. But the current owners really need to provide better training and support to their instructors.
I enjoyed the class and the space.

Saugerties hot yoga is such an inviting place. I have been going to Sarah’s hot power yoga classes often as I enjoy her class. She is a great instructor and extremely friendly and helpful.
I buy all of my classes online through their website which makes the check-in process simple. Just go to the schedule online, click “sign up”, and you’re done!
I live in FL most of the year, but for the summers I live Upstate. I’m a 45 min drive from the studio but it is worth it and I look forward to returning every year.

After trying out other yoga studios in the area, I couldn't quite find the right mix of sweating it out, challenging myself, pilates, and yoga. Then behold, Saugerties Hot Yoga! John, Maura, and their team are excellent instructors who guide you through a heated, sweaty workout that will make you ready for the day. It's not your relaxing yoga style of practice but more of an active tabata style hybrid with HIIT principles. You will get a rigorous workout that's challenging but doable, and you will be sore the next day in good way. Get sweating!

Very interesting experience! Heat really helps go deeper. And after very hard practice the body feels relaxed.
Highly recommend!

I love going to Saugerties Hot Yoga. John and Maura make you feel more than welcome to be there. The classes are great and the hot room really makes you sweat. I always feel amazing after. I love that the class sizes are small allowing for individual attention. They recently added Hot Pilates which is quickly becoming my favorite workout.

Amazing classes, Bikrahm and Vinyassa hot classes rock the house. I've been nervous about over doing it at yoga before, classes here are all geared for self care and improvement. Very encouraging yet no pressure.

Tara McIndoo teaches the Vinyassa classes, she weaves into every class stories, affirmations, humor and support.

Do yourself a favor and check out one of their classes!
