As a member, you can contribute to DBC by serving on the club's Board or one of the committees. We often participate at local cycling event's market or community fair and seek volunteers to help man the tent-always a good time! All of these opportunities are a great a great way to give back and make a lot of new friends, too!
Services
The club promotes bicycling as a lifetime activity that encourages good health, wellness, friendship, and personal accomplishment. The club offers the opportunity to bring together like-minded athletes who wish to share the sport of cycling with others. With an emphasis on fitness riding, club members believe in nurturing and respecting one another's abilities, and work together to improve cycling skills for safe riding in a group.
Dress in layers - during winter, the mornings are cool, but it will warm up as it gets later. If you're riding in the warm weather, start your ride early. Riding confidently and predictably in traffic sends the message that you belong on the road. Basic bike handling skills will also enhance your efficiency, making your ride more enjoyable.
Michael says, "I'm a single father of two who enjoys long pulls at the front and a nice bottle of Pinot Noir!" I hope people enjoy cycling in the valley as much as I do. Her role as Community Outreach works with local community partners to promote safe cycling and healthy living. Allyson's bike doesn't hit the road as often as it should - but then she is always busy at the computer!
It takes generous sponsors like these to help keep the club running. These folks are DBC cyclists, too! CV Link is a 50-mile, alternative transportation corridor for bicycles, pedestrians, and low-speed (up to 25 mph) electric vehicles along the Whitewater River and Tahquitz Creek that will initially stretch from Palm Springs to Coachella.
