Rivendell Bicycle Works
We make bikes for day riders and tourers, commuters and shoppers, trail riders and athletes, get-arounders and recreationalists, family riders and earth-savers. We don't make bikes for racers or weekend warriors, and we don't use carbon, because it's dangerous. We don't make uncomfortable, short-lived, road bikes or mechanically overkilled mountain bikes.

Our CrMo steel UNracing bikes are sleek, gorgeous, comfortable, efficient, safe, will last longer, and be safer every ride. We recognize that motorized bikes solve problems pedal bikes can't, but we seriously lack the brain-power to design or make them. So we stick to our true and only love-pedal bikes.
Services
Susie W. Longbolts/Wolbis Slugstone - Same concept as the Gus, but with lighter tubes for lighter riders. If you don't plan on dirt touring and you're under 200 pounds, consider this one. Made just for your body and riding style. The most expensive way to get a Rivendell, but mid-priced by modern, expensive-bike standards.
The A. Homer Hilsen was born in 2005 and filled the humongous gap between race-only road bikes and mountain bikes. It redirected our approach to bikes and riding and created our "country bike" category (now replaced by mainstream bike makers who bafflingly didn't see the need for roadish bikes with more tire clearance until their competitors started selling"gravel bikes").
I (Grant) used to say this was my favorite bike of all time, but right now it's tied with a few others--the new Atlantis being the most obvious. I don't think a better-riding bike is possible. I know I can't design one. We'll help you pick the perfect parts for your bike, and you'll get the only bike you'll ever want to ride.
This has been our flagship frame since we introduced it in 1999. It's an all-'rounder, originally designed for almost anything you'll need or want to do on a bicycle: loaded touring, trails, commutes, and day rides. The current Atlantis defines our approach to bikes and our ride and fit and aesthetics as well as any bike can.
Clem Smith Jr. is Rivendell's fat-tire, easy to fender & rack, joyously upright and stable, and more affordable than the rest of our lineup bicycle frame. Clems still have a strong wide fork crown, napkin-ring reinforcement lugs at the headtube, and a beautiful well-designed seatlug, so it looks far from a generic bike.

I will always have a Rivendell in my stable. Right now I'm riding a Bleriot. I am amazed at how it agile it is while retaining the signature magic carpet ride. Regardless of model, each of these frames and all the components on them have been well thought out for a bicycle that is easy to live with and a pleasure to ride. Rivendell is a model shop, they're friendly, easy to work with, and strive for justice. Give them a call! I have never regretted doing so.

Nothing but positive things to say about my experiences shopping with RBW. Friendly, actual-people-type service, parts and bikes built sensibly and beautifully, and an ethos built around products that last.

These are the best bikes, made by the best people. The attention to detail that RBW provides to comfort, safety, longevity, and sustainability are second to none. I look forward to riding my 2018 Atlantis for years to come.

Really cool bikes. Always super helpful when needing help with compatibility of parts. Bikes I can ride mostly anywhere, while bringing all I need.

I love how you decided to stop listening to our country argue and do something about the pain our country is going through and the pain of the black community. Will it fix the big issues? No. Will it save everyone or change everyone? No. But it reminded me that we all have a platform. Yours is your Bike company and if we all used what we do have and do what we can do, then perhaps we can move forward.
I wouldn't wish what I go through being black on anyone, but I must say the warmth we all feel when we feel heard, understood and valued cannot be overstated.
Thank you and like I said, maybe everyone

Love these people! Love my bike. Update: I'm about 6 months on with my new Rivendell Clem Smith. I have been a tough customer due to a rather unique injury to my right hand, and they have really worked with me on a custom braking solution. Also ran into some fairly common trouble with my seat post slipping, they have been working to solve the issue, knurling the seat post and changing the bolts. I just love the fact that these bike nerds really care about me having success on this bike. I'm sure I have a bit over 1K pretty easy miles on this machine, and it is really becoming mine.
