Frame Up Bikes
Frame Up Bikes (FUB) is a full service bike shop that caters to all levels of cyclists, from the beginner to the advanced, seeking the best possible cycling experience. FUB doesn't just sell and fix bikes - we ride them.

We sell what we use or wear ourselves, so we can tell you exactly how that helmet will feel on a summer mountain bike ride, how warm those socks will keep your feet during a winter Mount Diablo descent, and how to properly setup your suspension for whatever trail you are riding with your friends on your next epic ride.
Services
We are a full service bicycle repair shop located in Walnut Creek, CA, and we work on all bikes and brands. Most tune-ups end up being a combination of our a la carte items rather than what many shops offer which is a set group of repairs, some of which you may not even need. Mountain Bike - Once you go tubeless on your mountain bike you will wonder why you waited so long.
Frame Up Bikes is proud to offer 12-month, no interest financing so you can get the bike (and gear) you've always wanted. The Freedom to Ride card is a convenient way to get the bike and accessories you want right away. The program we are running is no interest if paid in full within 12 months* on in-store purchases of $299 or more made with your Freedom To Ride card.
In terms of bicycles, we are currently official dealers for Pivot Cycles, Orbea, BMC, Niner Bikes, and Salsa. We are also East Bay's only Frog Bikes dealer which have some of the best manufactured kid's bikes available today. In our shop we try to keep a good selection of the latest mountain bikes from Pivot as well as road and gravel bikes by BMC, Orbea and Niner available.

Hands down, the fine gentleman that run this business are absolute legends.

An employee named Drew built me up a front wheel on i9 hubs, and I must say, nothing but happiness here.

I take all of my bike business here, even though I bought my bike at Mik*s Bikes (which contains atrocious incompetent mechanics).

Best place in the bay for my bike.

Precision repair and maintenance. Exactly what is a appropriate for each bike, each customer, each situation. I saved $700 at Frame Up on a major major tune up vs. another shop estimate and my bike (SC Tall Boy) rides GREAT! They sell bikes and parts too!

Dropped off my 16 YO full-suspension Gary Fisher full-bike for work since sitting in my garage for years and only being lightly ridden on trails back East. I saw they were selling high-end bikes like Pivot, so I was a bit hesitant that my peasant-level steed may not be worth their while after being turned away from another shop to be scheduled for drop-off in a week and being estimated close to $300 for a possible suspension issue. So, I gave it a shot and said that the bike's been problematic for the few times I've ridden it, but Chris was non-judgmental and didn't see any problems

I have been looking for a good local bike shop and I think I have found it! Honestly, Frame Up Bikes is the best bike shop in the Bay Area that I have been to (and I have been to about ten in just Danville through concord). I tried every shop in my town (Danville) and they are either just try to get me to buy something I don't need, they don't know what they are doing, or are not honest.

Every person I have worked with at Frame Up Bikes has been incredibly knowledgeable and honest. I came in for a full bike tuneup and they were able to get my bike back to me in two days- full suspension

Small, but serious shop. These folks are involved in the community and they are up to date on what is going on in the world of bikes. They stock the higher end components and gear you want and none of the junk that doesn't meet their standard.

They are happy to talk to you about the local trails and popular spots to ride as well as what is going on there as far as trail maintenance days as well.

Great guys, friendly, professional, clean place. Not a giant selection of products but they have the basics and they're eager to order what you need and they do have some products like SupaCaz and Fizik in stock which can be hard to find at other shops.
Service is quick and speedy, and you never wait long.

I called this shop some time ago and I was so impressed with all of the information they were able to give me. Fast forward a few months I bumped into someone while I was on a ride and he highly recommended this shop. I'm a new rider so I had some questions, and Chris was so helpful and took the time to address any concerns. So greatly to have found this shop.

Frame up comes through again!

Brought my Orbea in for a tune-up, when Chris discovered that the carbon fiber seat tube was severely cracked in several places. And it was determined that the Thule trunk bike rack contributed to the break. Chris then recommended that I contact Carbon Solutions in Watsonville for an assessment.

Chris disassembled my bike on a Fri and I took the frame/forks to Carbon Solutions sat morning. I discussed the options w/ the owner, who has been in business 30 years.

The following sat morning, I picked up the frame/forks and was stunned how well it turned out.

Adding another review for my favorite bike shop in Contra Costa County. I recently got a new full suspension bike and wanted them to do an inspection and service. Luckily they got me in right away, had a quick turn around time, and even had a promotional rate. They go above and beyond to answer all your questions and make sure you leave satisfied.

Super late review, but definitely deserving. These guys are legit and very knowledgeable. I dropped off 2 Cannondale's a few months back for maintenance and repair. They were upfront about it being a challenge to find the right wheel for my bike and the cost for all services. No up charging or recommending unneeded services. Long story short they were able to locate the wheel and get everything done in a few days and we've been riding happy every since. Thanks fellas, keep up the amazing work.

BEST OF THE BAY. The best businesses excel at customer experience. What experience do you want from a bike shop?
1. Individualism: The beauty of SMALL BUSINESS. At this shop I am treated as a cherished being aligned with a single cause: To enjoy human power on two wheels
2. Transparency: No BS. Always give you the bottom line.
3. Support: If you need a quick fix they'll drop what they're doing and attend to your bike or offer a realistic time frame for labor.
4. Knowledge: Personal experience is the most perfect perspective. The proprietors, Tom and Chris, have years of testing product

These guys were great, I had been emailing with Tom about my bike and told me to bring it in and he would take a look(I know nothing about bikes) Before I brought it in I busted a tired and they unfortunately didn't have the parts. He called up another company to find me the right parts! I also learned a thing or too as well. Great staff and very knowledgeable. Will definitely go back if I need any work done.

Thanks again Tom!

When I bought my bike last year, I did a full coverage frame wrap myself, which took me the better part of a day to do. This wrap did an awesome job keeping the bike practically scratch/damage free, and I have no regrets doing it. A year later I wanted to get it re-done and just don't have the time nor motivation to do it again.

I searched far and wide for a shop that would do a full coverage frame wrap for my mountain bike. Car wrap places have no interest in doing this work, and other bike shops simply don't offer the service. Though Frame Up is about an hour drive from my house

Chris and Tom have helped me set up my last two new bikes and have a real drive to grow the bicycle community in the East Bay. From tuning suspession, doing ground-up fits, or just setting up your bike to ride the best for the east bay, they have you covered.
Update: Just upgraded to a new Pivot 5.5 and have been loving it thanks to Frame Up building it up to suit my riding style! They keep producing great bike builds!

WoS, approved. Great location within a mile from P.Hill BART and right off the Iron Horse Trail. Generally catered towards full suspension all mountain and speciality higher end bikes. Offers advice and service to hydraulic disc road bikes, tubeless setup, suspension overhaul, with niche services like vinyl decals/protection. The best part about this shop is that the shop guys RIDE BIKES. Frame Up aka FUB, host weekly weekday off-road and road rides (Sunday AM) local trails and roads. This in of itself is the prerequisite qualifier for 5 stars. Ask your local bike shop, "Do you even ride,
