A system of exercises designed by Joe Pilates to improve strength, mobility, and longevity. Joseph H. Pilates (1883-1967) was born in Monchengladbach, Germany. Joseph Pilates was a sickly child who suffered from asthma, rickets, and rheumatic fever, ultimately choosing to dedicate his life to improving his physical strength.
Pilates was years ahead of his time. He recognized that the "modern" life-style - marked by bad posture, improper breathing and inactivity - created poor health. His solution was to devise a method that incorporated more than 500 exercises and used uniquely designed apparatuses. Pilates, the method we know today, is still as amazing as when Joe was alive.

You will feel the burn and you will feel worked. BUT you will have so much energy afterwards. My abs are still working ! Rachael has so much knowledge and helped me lengthen my body and get my back flat on the mat. The studio is clean and crisp. After you finish your workout you wipe down the equipment and go on your way. The staff are wonderful people and I love coming here.
I will be back!

I have tried countless Pilates studios in Dallas and Pilates Methodology is the only one I truly enjoy (and the only one I came back to). It is a small studio that offers a variety of equipment and mat classes. Each class size has at most about six students. This enables each student to receive more personalized instruction, feel safe using the equipment, and get the most out of his or her workout. I have adored every instructor I have had (I've taken classes with three out of the seven). They are very competent and attentive to each student, give great instruction, and make you feel comfortable

This is a beautiful, well-equipped studio. But the real draw is the owner, Rachael Lieck Bryce. I've been taking Pilates from her off and on for about 10 years, and she just gets better and better every year. She makes sure that every move is done perfectly and for maximum effect. She will kick your butt, I promise.

Over the past year and a half, Pilates Methodology has become my home away from home. I can't speak highly enough of the beautiful studio space, the lovely owner Rachael and the absolutely fantastic instructors and staff. Joining a new studio or trying a new workout can be intimidating, but the Pilates Methodology team makes you feel like family. Classes and sessions with Morgan are always a bright spot in my week. If you are on the hunt to find a great workout at a wonderful studio, I highly recommend you try a class here!

I moved to Dallas about a year and a half ago and a dear friend of mine introduced me to Pilates Methodology. This studio - the look and the feel, are out of a magazine. However, what really excites me is the dedicated, intelligent, well trained instructors - all instructors including the owner, Rachel, are top-notch. I have lower back concerns due to a serious accident in my twenties but Pilates reformer helps me stay strong and healthier. The whole staff treats my prior injury seriously and this has allowed me to grow my strength in my core at my own pace. I have taken Pilates in all places

I love Pilates Methodology - the people, the workout, the studio - all of it! Being there is like being with friends...who make you work and sweat really hard. If you're new to pilates, I highly recommend. You won't feel lost and the instructors don't hesitate to walk you through an exercise. It's impossible to walk out after a class not feeling refreshed and challenged.

This studio is absolutely amazing. Super cute inside and all of the instructors and staff are so nice and helpful. I began coming here because of some issues in my lower back and Morgan has been instrumental in helping me get stronger and pain free. I've learned so much about my body and it's strength all while working different parts to ultimately strengthen my core and lower back. I highly recommend this studio for those interested in learning about Pilates and the strength your body has. Both the personal sessions and group classes have been incredible and I'm excited to continue

Loved the Vbarre class! Our instructor was a doll! So positive and sweet. It was a small Saturday am class and everyone was at varying levels of experience. I felt it was a solid workout for anyone! I walked in thinking I wouldn't sweat and left needing a shower ASAP! The environment was very adorable as well. Overall, I highly recommend this studio!

This place is AWESOME!!!!! Rachael seriously made me feel so comfortable and I'm so sore!!!!!!! I always hate working out... But I do like classes! I wasn't expecting to love Pilates like I did! It could just be the awesome environment here, amazing instructors and everything else.... But who cares why I really liked it!!! I'm just so glad I found something I love! The reformer equipment was my favorite!!!! My legs are so sore! There are few places I believe are actually 5 stars.. but I had no doubt that this place deserved all 5 stars! Hands down best workout session I've ever

I'm a huge fan of Pilates methodology! This review is specifically for their Vbarre classes (trying my first Pilates class tonight).
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and both the owner and instructor Emily. Emily was so sweet and such a good instructor. She even remembered my name and injuries when I came back the next week! The ab series in this class uses a ball and has been great for my series of lower back injuries. The first class is free and the first month of unlimited classes is only $69, so I've been coming back! It's a really cute space and definitely

I live in Atlanta, but travel often to Dallas. My instructor in Atlanta told me about Rachael, and she is EVERYTHING he said she is! AMAZING. The space is gorgeous, airy, and fresh. Pilates Methodology IS hardcore, and the staff is awesome!
I agree with Suzanne D., the comments from Anne S., are unwarranted.
Anne S., you sound jealous and full of vitriol. Perhaps a boxing gym with a mat suits you; however, I think I speak for many. I can get real pilates instruction in a clean and beautiful environment! Please stay at your "regular" studio. It sounds like you were trying to

I've experienced reformer, mat and private sessions all with different instructors, all fantastic. The studio is bright, airy and feels like you're a guest in someones home. I love the fact that it's in a wonderful historic home... the kind of gem you rarely find around here...unless you're in East Dallas. The smell of leather from the equipment makes me happy.

This studio is fabulous! I really enjoyed every minute of my experience here. It was my first class here, It will definitely not be my last. The studio itself is setup gorgeous, the decor gives a warm welcome feel, yet very eloquent. Rachel was such a great, attentive and motivating instructor. I highly recommend no matter what type of workout you are used to!

I've had such great experiences at this studio. I'm not in very good shape, but I don't feel embarrassed about my lack of ability because the instructors are super helpful and supportive. I've never really worked out before (and I'm 35) so it's been an adjustment, but the workouts are great.
I started off with the Studio Pass, which is such an incredible deal. The private sessions gave me the personal attention I needed and I've enjoyed a combo of the mat and equipment classes. My pass is close to expiring, but I definitely plan to continue on!
My favorite classes so far are Vbarre and Reformer

After nearly a year of being on break from pilates, I'm so glad Pilates Methodology is there to welcome me back with big, open arms. As long as Rachael and her team of vibrant, experienced instructors are in Dallas, I won't go anywhere else. (Kate, you rock!)
I learned under Rachael for a long time at another studio, and when she left, I was DEVASTATED. So, it should come as no surprise that I couldn't WAIT to get back in class when PM opened.
The studio is beautiful and very well equipped (sorry, Anne S - I disagree that they're all about appearances). It's airy, bright

I love this place. I mean it - it's a great place to go, work out and feel good.
Let me start by saying that I rarely have a bad experience these days because I read Yelp reviews before I even think about patronizing a new business. I don't like to be disappointed. Methodology did NOT disappoint!
I stopped in to see the studio before jumping into a class or session and I'm so glad I did! I got to meet Rachael and Laci, and had a tour of the beautiful studio. There is a great vibe going on in this old Victorian house. It just feels like something special when you walk in

Pilates was scary to me in my hometown of Chicago, but there was something about our recent move to Dallas that made me drop my inhibitions and really commit to all of the benefits and wonder of Joseph Hubertus Pilates' method of physical fitness. I decided on Pilates Methodology after reading an article about their opening that highlighted the intentional collection of instructors and cautious selection of location.
The first class I took was a mat class on the second floor in a sun-lit open room. The class was really fun and had an openness that I hadn't experienced at other Pilates

First off, the studio is beautiful and airy. Lovely location with easy parking. Second, the instructors are amazing. I've been taking Pilates from Rachael for years, and she is a tough workout. I've only taken from a handful of the other instructors at Methodology, but they've all been great as well. What I particularly love is their attentiveness to any "trouble spots" you might have. I have a wonky hamstring, and they always make sure I adjust and make accommodations for that. I love this studio and highly recommend it.

This is a great new studio. A light-filled space to enjoy part of your day with instructors who know you and your body (or will get to know them!).
Anne S, it sounds like you had a bad experience, which is never fun. Why don't you contact the studio and give it another try? It sounds like your preference for your "regular studio" is driving the critique of Pilates Methodology. It's great that you're happy with your current instruction; at the end of the day, that's what makes an individual stick with a studio. But if your "regular studio" is just up

When I walked into the studio for the first time during their grand opening week, I was greeted by a girl sitting at the front desk who asked for my name. She did not give her own name, nor did she introduce herself as the person who would be teaching my class. I wasn't asked for any information about preexisting injuries, either. (So much for "accomplishing our mission by identifying individual needs," as the website states.) These are standard courtesies and questions that I've been asked at BOTH of the other studios I've been to in Dallas. At no point during the

This is a stunningly beautiful and unique studio (transformed out of a classic home). Rachael, the owner, is truly passionate about Pilates and fitness and it comes through in this fitness boutique. She makes an effort to get to know every client and has carefully selected all of her instructors to make sure that they challenge clients but also have the skill to help people while keeping them safe. They're really friendly too! Pilates is a great workout for men and women that helps with alignment, flexibility, and of course your core! The addition of Vbarre classes allows you to get cardio
