Dr. Tariq Riyal is a lifelong Chicagoan with a dedication to serving the communities he grew up in. Growing up to working-class parents, his family did not have the luxury of dental insurance and struggled to find a dentist that could adequately address all of their needs.

5 Star experience - I would definitely recommend this practice. Miswak Dentistry was referred to me by a friend and I'm happy to say that they did a great job at my first visit. The staff are all very pleasant, helpful, and respectful both on the phone and in person. The dental hygienist was knowledgable, explained everything very well, and made the process enjoyable. The dentist was very nice too. There is free street parking one block away and it's in a safe area. The price for a dental cleaning without insurance was fair too and they described themselves as "conservative" when it comes to finding

My family has been going here for over 10 years. Dr Riyal is a great dentist but his front end staff is trash. How do you just cancel an appointment because it wasn’t confirmed. We’ve never missed an appointment and if we need to reschedule we call. The receptionist clearly lacks integrity because she just made up an excuse to why the appointment was canceled. Won’t be back!

Miswak started off as our children's dentist but my husband and I became quick converts. I have referred numerous people to them based off our experience. One of the most knowledgeable, friendliest, trustworthy, personable + caring staff. They not only work for you but work with you to meet you where you're at and truly care about each and every patient. They treat you like you're family. Everyone at this office is incredibly friendly and polite. They know how to make you feel comfortable, provide enough information without making everything overwhelming, and ensure that your visit is good despite how long it's been or how much "help" you need. This was my first visit to Miswak Dentistry and I couldn't be more satisfied with the service. Brie x-rayed my teeth and gave me a cleaning. She walked me through the analysis of each x-ray and cleaned my teeth (much!) more thoroughly than they've ever been cleaned.
I saw Dr. Kaminski for about 10 minutes and he was very clear and professional. He briefly went over everything again and confirmed what I was told by Brie.

I LOVE Miswak Dentistry! All the people (from front desk folks, to hygienists, to doctors) are so, so awesome. Their communication is amazing and they take the time to explain & educate. They’re super efficient, organized & keep the patient at the center of the experience. After moving to Chicago, I was super apprehensive about getting a new dentist and for years would make the hour+ trek out to the suburbs. I made the leap to Miswak, and am so happy I did! I recommend them to all my Chicago family & friends…really anyone who asks.

I went to Miswak Dentistry today for deep cleaning and examination. The staff was extremely friendly and the doctor was very professional. The Hygienist performed the deep cleaning with little to no pain whatsoever, I was expecting a much worse experience based on what I heard from others who had deep cleaning done at other dental offices. I highly recommend Miswak Dentistry to everyone.

I've been coming here for 5 years. Everyone is super friendly, attentive and caring. I've never been afraid of going to the dentist but if was, this would have been heaven for me. I manage benefits at work and I always recommend this place to my co-workers. Never have heard of anyone having a bad experience here, always hear great things. Highly recommend!

Always a great experience when I go to see Dr Riyal and his team! Beautiful and clean office with all the necessary precautions taken to eliminate any chance of spread for Covid. They are constantly updating the office with the latest technology to make sure they are giving their patients the best care possible.

I started going to this dentist because my boyfriend told me it was the nicest experience he’d ever had at a dentist. I have now been twice and I can vouch for that! Everyone is kind and considerate. Today was my first time visiting, and it was awesome! The waiting area chairs were amazingly comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly. I loved watching my teeth on the big screen throughout my consultation. Nina was very easygoing which helped me to relax. The dentist was friendly, knowledgeable, and very through when he explained my oral anatomy. At the end of my consultation was a clear concise treatment plan, with estimates. Overall, my experience was great! Highly recommended..

I've never left a review for a dentist before, but I loved my experience at Miswak Dentistry. Sometimes dentist offices can feel like they're just trying to squeeze you of all the money you have, but I didn't feel like that at all here. I also like that they're open on Saturdays! Dr. Riyal was super nice AND super knowledgable. He explained things to me about my teeth and walked me through all my teeth xrays which I truly have never had done before. He also told me that there's absolutely no reason I need to remove my bottom wisdom teeth unless they're bothering me

I can't say enough good things about this dentist. I have been a patient for 10 years. I have mostly just had cleanings (thank goodness), but have also had two major dental emergencies involving broken teeth which needed crowns and one root canal. Their prices are humanitarian and the care and work that is given is top notch. I have seen both Dr. Riyal and his new partner Dr. Kaminski. Both are caring, kind and trustworthy. All of the staff is wonderful. Even if I move to another state or country, I will come back to Miswak for my cleanings and any dental work. Thank you for being amazing

My wife and I moved from Nashville, TN a few years ago, we tried a few dentists in the city (Dental Salon and a couple of other I can't remember at the moment) Dr. Riyal is the best dentist...If I would of have a dentist like him in Nashville I probably be less anxious about going to the dentist and have more choppers.
If you have kids who are afraid of the dentist or if you yourself are afraid of the dentist, do yourself a favor and try this place. Tell them how anxious you are and they will try to be as gentle as possible and not handle you like a piece of flesh like other places..

Always hated coming to the dentist, and even more always hated feeling embarrassed by the dentist especially with my cavity prone teeth, but after a lot of research I went to Miswak. It has been the best experience. The front office is so nice and patient. They go over every part of the treatment plan regarding your insurance, and they answer every little question without any hesitation. I've asked so many times to try to move up any of my appointments and they always try and never get annoyed about me asking.

I hadn't been to a dentist for awhile due to lack of dental insurance, but then I found Miswak. I called three places and they are the most reasonable price for check ups and cleaning without insurance. As a bonus, everyone who works there is very friendly. I haven't needed any major work so I can't speak to that, but if all you need is basic dental care then this is the place for you.

If I moved far away... somewhere warm... I'd still come to Chicago twice a year for my cleaning and check-ups at Miswak! They do such a great job and I TRUST them. They tell me what to do when a cavity starts to form (usually floss more... of course), when my toothpaste is too harsh, when there are any other issues. I've been to other places where they're happy to start drilling instead of telling you how to take care of an issue before it becomes an invasive and expensive problem. They're friendly, professional, and though I have insurance, I believe they work out plans

The best dentist in the city. Not only is the staff pleasant and professional dr riyal is a great dentist and very caring of his patients.
Perks: every room has a tv which you can watch Netflix while waiting or even while you're doing work.

I'm a picky customer, and that's how you know this place is top notch. Everything about it is great--from the friendly and knowledgeable staff to the clean office and up-to-date equipment. You even get to watch Netflix while waiting for your exam! It really feels like they care about their patients, and they're full of good tips about dental hygiene. (Gums receding? You might be brushing too hard! Got some baby cavities? If you floss diligently you might be able to reverse the damage!)

I thought I had it made with my former dentist until I realized that I just never really knew my options. There are a few things in life that you don't cheat on: your spouse, your hair stylist, and your dentist/doctor. Ending my oral care relationship with my former dentist is one that I'll never regret. I've been in Chicago for over 3 years and have yet to find the perfect hair stylist or doctor. Dentist also used to be on the list but has been knocked off since my recent visit to Miswak.
I can't think of better things to do than going in for a check up to the dentist - having someone put strange things in your mouth while asking you countless questions about your flossing habits. It sounds almost as awesome as waiting in line at the DMV with really *pleasant* people all day long. Somehow though, Miswak made my experience completely painless.
