I check for proper Roof Coverings, Venting, Flashing, Skylights, Chimney Integrity, Rain Caps. Structural Elements including: Foundations, Basements, Crawlspaces, Slabs, Roof Structure including Trusses, Rafters & Roof Sheathing. Heating and Cooling Systems including: Overall Operation, Filtering, and Age of System (when it can be determined), Fireplaces.

Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is produced by naturally decaying uranium and radium. Exposure to radon gas can increase your risk at developing lung cancer. Radon gas decay products can be breathed into the lungs where they break down and emit alpha particles. Alpha particles release a small burst of energy, which is absorbed by lung tissue.

Chris did an excellent job with our home inspection and radon test. Clear descriptions and images of each issue were included in the comprehensive inspection report, which was given to us promptly (next day, I believe). As first-time home buyers, we loved using Chris for BOTH of our house inspections. We unfortunately terminated an offer on our first house but called him in again for our second. He was very thorough and informative in his inspections and answered any questions we had. He also offered us a discount since we were first-time buyers. He also gave us a book that talks about stuff you need to know about upkeep and maintenance stuff we obviously would never know about if we haven't owned a home before.

Chris did a very thorough job! He was very thorough and informative in his inspections and answered all of my questions with professionalism! He was so good, that I’ve actually used him twice! The first home had a ton of stuff wrong with it and we were thankful to get out of that contract! Always elect for the radon testing! Chris was great and I would refer him to anyone!

Chris was very professional and thorough while he performed the inspection of my house. He was even willing to explain what he found while he was conducting his inspection. The other thing he was willing to do was answer all of the questions I asked him. The report was another thing that blew me away. The report he sends you contains pictures, explanations and suggestions. I highly recommend you hire him if you want an honest opinion and a professional.

Chris inspected our home recently and we could not have been more pleased. He was so easy to work with and squeezed our inspection in quickly. Being first time homes buyers, the entire process is scary and daunting but Chris was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and allowed us to ask a million questions along the way. I called Chris and left a message on a Saturday (October 19th) to see if he would inspect a home for me in the Shiloh, Illinois. Chris immediately emailed and called me back that day and was able to set up a time literally 3 days later on a Tuesday (October 22) to inspect the home. My husband and I loved how thorough Chris and his team were. The reports you receive are explained in detail and allows you the ability to know what you are looking at and mostly what you are agreeing to buy. Wow, Wow, Wow. We were very impressed with Chris' work ethic. He is HIGHLY DETAILED and PERSONABLE. There's no way a 1st time home buyer can notice these findings while doing a walk-through with your agent. He even took extra time to explain to my husband all the deficiencies in the home. Chris was very thorough with my home inspection and I am very grateful. He provides an easy to follow report, with pictures, a complete description of areas that need to be repaired, and recommendations. He also coordinated the termite inspection to be completed at the same time and provided a radon test. The radon test did not complete successfully (due to the machine being unplugged by th eoccupant) and Chris went back and did a second test at no extra charge which was successful. We were very impressed with Chris from CBC. He arrived at the home we wanted to purchase and our realtor and the current home owner were there! He remained professional and performed his duties. I called CBC Home Inspections after an unpleasant experience with another inspection company. Chris gave me a prompt quote, communicated effectively and completely, and gave me a thorough understanding of his process. Chris was able to perform the inspection when needed and continued great communication before and after the job. I wasn't able to attend the inspection but Chris called me prior to writing the report to inform me of his findings; the report came the next day. Chris set up the septic inspection and gave me that information as well. A+ service and communication is not common

Chris did an excellent job and explained findings during inspection of home I our family was interested in purchasing. He was very comfortable providing detailed responses to questions (to a layman like myself) on items uncovered during the home walk through.
