At West LA Pilates we understand the importance of holistic care for the body and the mind. We share the Studio with Chiropractor Dr. Wilson Park and Acupuncturist Dr. James Kelly to offer you alternative modalities to aid in your quest for health. Plus, we have some of the most highly trained and experienced professionals in the Pilates business.
Here at West LA Pilates, we believe in tailoring each workout to address your individual needs, including strengthening areas you weren't aware needed to be strengthened. Our workouts are equally beneficial to men and women and can be done in a private or small group setting, up to only 4 people per class in our calm and healing atmosphere.
Two 55 minute sessions providing a foundation in Pilates movement, exercises, form, breathing, and familiarity with the equipment. With personalized attention, the instructor has an opportunity to assess and observe your individual needs. We will be following health department recommendations in the studio: masks (instructor and client) and social distances as often as possible.

I love this team of Pilates instructors. They have helped me with my disc issues, strengthening my core, and general body fitness. As an ex professional dancer, I am loving the gentle, but deep work this studio does to keep me fit and feeling great. All these teachers have great senses of humor and the prices are quite fabulous. My 12 year-old son and I have been attending classes with Patte for the past two months (now on class #10). Our physical therapist recommended trying pilates due to our history of some ankle/lower extremity injuries and core weakness. I have been going to West LA Pilates for over a year now. Before I started coming I had never done Pilates before and they were really patient and helpful even in sessions that weren't private. I really love going here because I always feel like they pay a lot of attention to my body and what I need to work on. Patte and Lucia are great! I always look forward to my sessions.

I signed up for a group class, and as there was a slight mix-up, I was the only person and they still had the class just for me! Private class, +1 points.
There are four reformers total, appears that two fit in each room, so I imagine the max for a class size is 4 people anyway - nice and small. My instructor (sorry, forgot your name) was amazing. She asked me about all my less-flexible/injured parts and was careful to modify the movements to not aggregate my problem areas. She also kept me going strong even though I'm sure in a 1-on-1 session the temptation to skip over the hard parts

So, I've been meaning to write a review for West L.A. Pilates for a really long time. I took pilates classes there for about 2 years and it is really such a great studio. I took classes mostly from Patte but all the other instructors I had there were good as well. Patte really knows her stuff. She really teaches pilates. If you are only taking pilates to work up a sweat, then this might not be your thing, but if you want to really learn about how to use your body correctly, this is the place to go. The team at West LA Pilates helps educate and instruct clients on how to get their bodies in the best shape of their lives. I've love West LA Pilates. Patte and Gia are the best and can really help work around your schedule as well as your body. I'm pretty sure Gia's 7am class was made to accommodate me. Every week Gia has 'new moves' and always keeps it fresh and interesting as well as an amazing full body workout. Another reason I love them, Gia fit me in her class while I was pregnant and just adjusted my workout. From pre to pregnant to post pregnancy Gia has made me a Pilates addict. I love this gem of a studio and everyone in it.

I am already on my second package of private lessons with Patty James and am seeing incredible results.
If you do not know the amazing benefits of Pilates then do some research. I find it is more effective then doing regular gym stuff and the results are long lasting.
One could say that the downside is to really maximize your effort, you should be working one-on-one with a knowledgeable trainer and that cost can add up, and well, I have had some "not-so-good-but-really-nice" trainers in the past and the money just get burned.
However, Patty James is really exceptional, she is knowledgeable

I hadn't understood the significance of working my core until I met Patte. I started working out at West LA Pilates because of terrible knee trouble. Who knew that working my core could eliminate my knee pain?! I also discovered that the work I was doing with Patte, significantly reduced my lower and upper back pain and neck pain, and even improved my posture. No wonder working the core is such a big, big deal!

Patte is the best Pilates teacher I ever had - and I've had a whole lot. She pays extreme attention to detail and gives detailed, helpful corrections and tips.
She's also cheerful and fun, without being overwhelming.
She's just perfect!
I also took a class with another instructor who was also really excellent, very focused, sweet and helpful.
In just 4 classes I felt that some things have improved in my body - my chest is more open, for instance.
With only 4 reformers, the classes are virtually private. The studio looks onto a balcony filled with plants, which I found lovely,

I had my first session at West LA Pilates yesterday and it was fantastic! I loved my trainer and I got one of the best workouts of my life! The studio is smaller - giving you uniquely personal attention and privacy (if needed) for those of us non-Pilates people. I literally can't wait to go back next week!

I have been going to West LA Pilates for more than 2 years. It's an important part of my life and I look forward to it every time I walk in the door. Patte, the owner and main instructor, knows bodies and knows how to maximize their potential -- especially ones who are in pain. The studio is intimate and friendly, and workouts are customized to the clients. Patte is a stickler for good form and I carry it with me throughout the week.
