Any and every time we have called Karen Ayers State Farm a friendly, professional person immediately answers the phone (usually Kristina or Karen herself) ……..never an automated system. That in itself is a rare and wonderful experience. Beyond that, the service is exceptional. Most recently, our car broke down while traveling out of state. It was a somewhat harrowing, and overall very costly, experience. We called Karen the next day to see if we could get a reimbursement on our towing costs. She assured us that we could and made the process so utterly simple. She sent us a text for us to attach

Karen has been my state farm agent for several years. I have a consultation with her annually to go over things that I didn't even know would help me because I didn't know things like identity theft, personal umbrella policy, driving discounts, home security discounts, etc all existed. But the best of all is Karen cares about knowing my life, my family dynamic, my future needs, and asks the right questions so I can plan today and into the future while providing me security, safety, and a piece of mind that everything will be okay when something happens. Ridiculous!!! But in a good way. This review is simply going to repeat what all the other 5-star reviews state - Karen and her team are brilliant. We recently switched all of our insurance (home, rental, car(s), motorcycle, etc.) from the "Friendly Hands People" to StateFarm and Karen. From the first call, Karen has been there to explain, consult and provide honest & open recommendations. You will get no better service and personalized attention from anyone. My only regret is that the switch didn't happen sooner.

Karen Ayers and her office have been servicing my insurance needs for several years and have always gone above and beyond my expectations. With my home, cars, and several rentals Karen has always taken the time to thoroughly explain all my options and make sure me and my family are protected in case something ever goes wrong. I've been with Karen for over 10 years during my time in Chicago. She's been great at making sure my policy gets all the discounts I qualify for even without me asking! There was one time where I was involved in an accident and State Farm was great about making sure they backed me up! I'm now moving out of state so I have to switch insurance agents, but will miss all the great service I've gotten here in Chicago.

Karen has been my agent for several years now and has always been great. She communicates very well which is very important in making sure that my condo is adequately insured. She is patient and always is able to simplify the complicated policy language into basics.

Karen has been my agent since I moved to Chicago in 2013 for renter's and auto. Recently, I purchased a new car after not having one for a while. At the dealership on a Friday, I called to have my policy moved to the new vehicle and long story short, the after hours agent had to start a new policy and I got a premium significantly higher than what Karen's office had quoted out a week earlier. I first started buying renter's insurance from her in 2012. Seven years later when I went on to buy an entire apartment building, she helped me itemize all of my needs, customized my car insurance, and got me a rate fantastically lower for home and auto than anyone else had quoted me. Also excellent in contact and follow up and follow through. Couldn't recommend a better agent. You won't be disappointed.

After 13 years as a client (homeowners insurance) who never needed her services, I finally had to file a claim due to a leak in my neighbor's unit. Karen not only talked me through the process--and explained that my deductible was more than the repair, so I shouldn't file a claim--she offered to take over communication w/ my neighbor and bldg. mgmt. co. She deciphered my building's bylaws and was immensely helpful--knowing she wasn't going to receive a penny for her time. She saved me so many headaches, and I'm extremely grateful!

Like a lot of insurance agents I've had, I usually end of talking to their assistants, but when I needed my actual agent to help me, Karen came through. I was involved in a car accident and the person who hit my car was new to Illinois and still had a policy in California. This apparently confused the hell out of State Farm claims reps and I had enormous trouble finding the right person handling my case. Not a full-service agent. Despite being the primary reason we changed to State Farm, my wife's wedding ring was NEVER covered...of course, I didn't find this out until it was lost.
They're terrible at handling changes to policies, and managing payments. Just this month we received 4 automatic bill payments on the *same* policy (that should only be paid once a year). One of those payments was for over 4 years worth of coverage.
Very, very poorly managed.

No one wants to pay for insurance, but it's a necessity for living in our less-than-perfect world. That being said, my husband and I have used State Farm Insurance for well over 20 years and had a nice enough agent, but when we moved, we wanted an agent that lived closer to us. My experiece with Karen was unacceptable! Poor service 2 days before my wedding when I called with an emergency in the loop during rush hour in Chicago!
I called the # on my insurance card and received the we're closed phone message at about 5 PM, with out an emergency # left on their answering machine. I left a message and NEVER received a return call. (that day, the next or any time!)
I called myself after our wedding and could never get the opportunity to ever talk to Karen. She has been taking my money for years and I have never made a claim or asked for help! So this is so telling when
