WIT is made up of four credit unions who have joined forces over the years. West Irondequoit Teacher's Federal Credit Union, now known as WIT Federal Credit Union, was funded in 1962. The following three credit unions were formed around the same time as WIT but merged into WIT in the years noted. Over the years private schools, businesses, more labor unions, and numerous organizations have made eligibility to Join WIT a part of their benefits.
Payroll Deduction - a portion of your net paycheck is electronically transferred to WIT and the balance to other financial institutions. Feel free to work with us to determine the amount you need to have deducted from your check to make your loan payments. WIT does offer cash withdrawals from your accounts at the Irondequoit Branch only and it is limited to $300 per day.
At our Irondequoit Branch, we have a night drop box on the side of the building where you can leave deposits or other information any time day or night. Reoccurring transfers from other banks or credit unions can be set up by WIT pulling funds via ACH or your other financial institution transferring funds from that account to your WIT account.
You may file a formal complaint with the National Credit Union Association's Consumer Assistance Center online. NCUA will send your complaint to the credit union manager, David Wright, and the Supervisory Chairperson will meet with you to listen to your concern. You and NCUA will be notified by mail of the Supervisory Chairperson's decision.
For quick access to a paper application you can print out the appropriate application from our list on this Website and either bring it to a branch, fax it (585) 454-4610, or email it to us (witfcu@witfcu.com). No matter which way you choose to apply, we will need proof of income before we give final approval.
