University Towers is a private membership cooperative housing corporation (a "co-op"), which owns a 17-story tower consisting of studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments for purchase. Each of the 238 apartments is owned by an individual shareholder in the corporation who also owns a "proprietary lease".
The corporation is not a monthly rental apartment landlord, and new shareholders need to be approved by the corporation's admission committee before joining the community of shareholder-owners. Our shareholders have as their mission a desire to support a diverse, inclusive, friendly community in order to maintain affordable housing.

Have lived here for 8 years. Just finished a MAJOR refurbishment project - New balcony railings, all new windows, New curtain wall, brand new elevators, rebuild of parking garage. Walking distance to Yale/New Haven Hospital, to Yale campus/theater/art galleries, to downtown shopping. Great neighbors in the building!
