A Millbrook native, John Dyson developed an appreciation for wine while attending Cornell's College of Agriculture. Never keen on beer, he purchased a jug of wine to impress a date. Soon after, he enrolled in a wine course at Cornell's famed Hotel School, and his lifelong passion for wine was born.
In 1982, after some successful plantings of vinifera grapes on his father's farm, Dyson purchased the 130-acre Wing Dairy Farm. He, in partnership with his brother-in-law David Bova, co-founded Millbrook Vineyards & Winery. In 1983, the first plantings were rooted at the site. The gravelly soil on the southwest facing slopes proved excellent for viticulture.

Services
Millbrook Winery is currently not offering tours of the facility. Due to the pandemic, it is not safe for groups of people to be in our production areas. You are welcome to walk around the vineyard and peruse the educational signage around the vineyards. We have outdoor seating available on a first come first served basis.
Tastings will begin every hour for guests with reservations and walk-ins will be served on a first come first serve basis every half hour. The outdoor wine tastings are under a large tent over looking the small lakes and Lollipop Hill Vineyard Block. Each group is assigned a socially distanced tasting bar.
We always have a great variety of Millbrook Wines by the bottle available in our Taproom. Your by the bottle choices include: Hunt Country White, Tocai Friulano, Dry Riesling, Unoaked Chardonnay, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and PSR Cabernet Franc. We have several plated cheese options available in our Taproom.
The winery is open daily, 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. for retail sales, picnics and wine tastings. No Reservation needed. We have socially distant picnic tables available for use, on a first come first served basis and you are also welcome to bring your own lawn chairs/blankets to enjoy the property. Guests can also bring their own picnic with them to the winery and enjoy it in the picnic areas.
It's never been easier or more affordable to personalize your own wine labels on our award winning wines. Millbrook wines are always great for gift giving, but they can be even more meaningful and memorable with a special message from you. Custom labels are great for birthdays, weddings, holidays or any special occasion.

Millbrook Vineyards is one of my favorite in the Hudson Valley...great wine and views. It's a staple in the region and less than 2 hours from the city.
I highly suggest their wine tastings to get a feel for their selection and pinpoint a bottle to purchase. My most recent tasting was with Ronny and he was an excellent guide. Highly recommend their Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Johnny Rock. What can I say? I love them all.

Nice winery, amazing views, nice variety or wine. I did not take a tour so I cannot comment on that. The wine tasting in the tent was nice however I had to take a start off due to the unreasonable amount of gnats/fruit flies! It was insane! I couldn't even focus on the guide talking about the wines.

Cute place to go with the cousins before attending a wedding in the area. Did the guided wine tasting with a very energetic and knowledgeable guide. She was equally attentive to each table. Then we enjoyed the live music outside with a quick bite from the food truck (Dave's global) and went on our way.

Stopped at Millbrook Vineyards on Tuesday afternoon. A very nice and thorough tasting, with a beautiful outdoor setting to enjoy the wines you tried.
Quality: Millbrook Vineyards has a pretty large operation with wineries located in New York, California, and Italy. Visiting on a weekday, they only had the Portfolio Wine Tasting available, but it showcased their wine from all the different regions. They were transitioning from summer menu to fall, so we got to try a total of eight wines, not matching up perfectly with the menu. This included a an Unoaked Chardonnay, a New York State Chardonnay

Beautiful and spacious winery with great wines and gorgeous setting. Plenty of tables to enjoy a picnic, and great food trucks, or, you may bring our own food-as long as you buy their wines, you are not being limited to spending as much time as you would like, which is exactly what we did last Saturday. We came at 12:30, and there were already some table occupied, but we had no issue finding a spot under a tree. The weather was perfect, not too hot, breezy and we were able to enjoy a walk around the property. We tried 4 bottles, all whites, and all were great. The bathrooms are very clean and

Wanted to love this place but didn't. The gentleman at the front desk wasn't very friendly or helpful. The reservation times weren't on schedule and you're in a winery, pour something in a glass while you have people wait. We wanted to buy/try other glasses outside of the tasting and were told the taproom was where to go but there were kids sprawled out on the floor and what appeared to be a private event so we had no clue why we were sent in that direction. Got downstairs to ask if there was a place to buy / try other varieties and the same man at the desk just point blank

Had an excellent experience visiting with friends. Was a busy Saturday afternoon with many families at the picnic tables and spread out on the lawn. We got a bottle of Chardonnay and a bottle of Rosé for $18 each. The three of us had a wonderful time. Everyone was mostly distanced, there were food trucks selling in front of the main building and plenty of seating. Since it was such a nice day we sat by the pond and watched a mother duck swimming with her babies. I recommend sitting further away from the center building as it is louder over there. They allow you to cross over to the hillside as

Amazing space and great service. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. I went in the summer and it was blazing hot but the wine tastings were in a tent area with fans.
This is the biggest winery I've ever been to and i've been to my fair share in North fork. It was refreshing to see a huge and well maintained winery in upstate. It's almost like a vineyard and a park because there is so much space and everyone is picnicking. Great for big groups and can bring kids along as well. After you do wine tasting - you can do a self tour of the grounds on the "vineyard walk.

Such a gorgeous vineyard, and plenty of space for social distancing too!
The grounds are large, so even though it was crowded there was plenty of room to park and spread out. There is a large field with a stage for the band. You can either set up shop in the grass (they even have sectioned off areas for people to distance) or snag a picnic table. Just note you'll need to get there pretty early if you want a table. There is also an entirely different outdoor area where you can sit out and enjoy wine if you don't care to be near the music.

OMG what a cute vineyard! We went on a beautiful 'picturesque; September Saturday and I'm so glad my gf suggested this place, because I was so enamored with it! They have tons of picnic tables setup in the front of the vineyard - and they let you bring your own food, which is nice. They also had a BBQ food truck. The vineyard is huge and surrounded by this beautiful body of water, so people set up picnic blankets with food & wine along the water and up on the hill where the vineyards were. The actually tasting room is quite large and filled with lots of bottles available for purchase

Such a beautiful winery.
We loved the tasting area out by the pond, the view was amazing while sipping their 6 different wines on the tasting.
The grounds are very spacious with a lot of different areas to picnic, or sit and relax and take in the views. There was a taproom on site as well which I believe offered food but we didn't go up there so I don't have much detail on that.
The country white and the country red were our 2 favorites from the 6 we sampled at the tasting. We found the 2 other reds on the tasting to be tasty but a Smokey after taste made it not so much our favorite.

It's hard to describe Millbrook Winery as anything but gorgeous. It looks like a venue straight out of Italy with expansive grounds, rolling hills and on a sunny, blue sky day... it will put you in total awe. The winery hosts many events and it looks like the perfect spot for a wedding. Tastings are wonderful and it is the kinda place you can bring a blanket, buy a bottle or two, and relax on the lawns. Bring some cheese and you are all set fam

We took a tour of the winery and did a wine tasting. The winery tour was interesting and informative. Our guide was friendly and thorough. We enjoyed the wine tasting. Our server made sure that we knew what to look for in each of the wines we sampled. Afterward, we walked around the main building, and outside. The setting is beautiful. Overall, worth the trip.

Vino? Wine not!
Thank you Groupon for getting it right! I discovered this amazing spot thanks to the peeps at Groupon. Mega deal so I couldn't resist! I have no idea how I missed raving about Millbrook Vineyards sooner. I've come here a few times and I cannot wait to be back this summer again.
When I purchased the tasting tickets I thought it would be something brief, lame with a bunch of cheap wines at a meh spot. I was so wrong! I purchased my Groupon in advance and before I took friends here I wanted to make sure we tested the "waters". As soon as we drove in on the sunny

The day we went was the last tour of the season.
It was a very enjoyable day at the winery, there's a tour and the tasting is worth it. I'm not much of an oenophile but they sold me a bottle, to try later. I didn't notice a place to get something to eat, because after 6 glasses about half full; a few crackers doesn't keep a buzz from coming on. Luckily I didn't have to drive!
The tour is informative and the property extensive. Found out why a bottle of wine can be expensive. The corks, bottles, and barrels are all expensive. Not to mention the grapes are hand picked.

Millbrook Vineyards was such an aesthetically pleasing experience - driving into the Vineyard you pass rows and rows of grapes. It took me about a two hour drive but it was so worth it. My boyfriend and I decided to take a tour along with the Portfolio Tasting. In the Portfolio Tasting you try 6 wines (3 whites, 1 rose, 2 reds) along with a sample of Tuscan Olive Oil with bread and crackers. The wine glass that you sample the wine in is yours to keep and it's decorated with the "I heart NY" slogan - which fun fact was coined by Millbrook Vineyards original owner. To be frank the
