Lovingston Winery
Fall is almost here! Our favorite time of the year, as we welcome in the cooler air, all the wonderful colors in the trees, and of course, our second Wine Club release of beautiful wines for our members to enjoy! This year has been an exciting one for Lovingston Winery. In August, the Winery. Built into a hillside on the family farm, our vineyard consists of 11.5 acres of densely-planted Bordeaux and South African varietals.
Services
Lovingston Winery, located in the rolling countryside of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is dedicated to the production of the highest-quality wines. Primarily family-run along with head winemaker Riaan Rossouw, we take great pride in offering a pleasing experience in every bottle.

Our Josie's Knoll Vineyard site consists of 10.5 acres of densely-planted vines - ranging from the Bordeaux varietals of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to the South African Pinotage as well as Seyval Blanc, Chardonnay, and Petit Manseng.
Most shipments include small production, "wine club only" releases, including library wines. Access to member-only products in our online store, identified by your email address when you visit our website. Exclusive invitation to intimate events at Lovingston, including barrel tastings, library flights, etc.
Make your next visit a longer one with an overnight stay in The Cabin at Lovingston Winery. Enjoy a relaxing morning with a sunrise from your southern style porch, an afternoon stroll through the vines, and a cozy evening inside your cabin equipped with tasteful modern touches.

While this beautiful cabin will have you feeling rested and relaxed, it also serves as a great home base for day trips to nearby distilleries, cideries, and wineries as well as a number of great outdoor activities.Bring your family or friends as this cabin offers room for six!

In addition to a winery producing delicious Bordeaux-style reds (and two tasty whites!), the Lovingston Winery is also an airbnb! You've got two lodging options...The Farmhouse and The Cabin. I've stayed at both. The Farmhouse is charming, 2-story, 4-bedroom facility. Two porches and a covered deck. There's a killer kitchen and shared living room but lots of privacy. The Cabin is a rustic, 3-bedroom building with a great back deck and front porch. Both The Farmhouse and The Cabin have been recently remodeled...just beautiful...and spotlessly clean!
Re their wines....five full-bodied Reds and two

Nice winery. Great wines, especially the reserves. Very professional but personable staff. Would visit this wine every trip to Smith Mountain Lake if it wouldn't break my piggy bank. 😊 Worth the visit for sure. 🍷🍇

This winery is absolutely beautiful. It was just bought a few months ago by a family and they are truly AMAZING. I was looking for a place to take engagement photos and everything kept falling through. I emailed Lovingston Winery and Tessa email me back right away and was so happy to allow me to take my engagement photos here. It was truly everything I could have asked for in my engagement photos from the vineyards to the Mountain View’s. Tessa her fiancé and the family are truly so welcoming, personable and friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better place or people. I highly recommend if

My husband and I had the pleasure of stumbling upon Lovingston Winery by accident. We didn't know that the winery was having a members' party when we arrived, but the staff and new owners welcomed us with open arms. After savoring the exceptional chardonnay, soaking in the beauty all around us, and receiving such a warm welcome, we decided to join the Wine Club. We are excited to become part of the Lovingston Winery family and look forward to returning soon!
P.S. It was a chilly afternoon and we were even provided with blankets too!

Great winery with friendly staff and a good selection of wines. Our favorites were the Chenin Blanc and the Pinotage. It was fun to have the tasting room inside the winery itself so you could see what they use to make the wine. Dry wines with good flavors.

We have had multiple visits to Lovingston Winery this year. The wine is very good and well thought out, and the people are friendly. It is quiet and relaxing to look out over the small pond and enjoy good wine and idle conversation. Try the Pinotage

Lovingston is getting recognized and deservedly so. My first visit revealed a compact winery that has been around for 12 plus years. Their wines come from grapes grown on site. I liked 3 of their five wines (cab franc, seyval blanc, and merlot) well enough and thought them to be better than many from our local wineries. I particularly liked the pinotage and petite manseng. The latter may be the best PM I have had in Virginia. I took a bottle of each home. I'll keep my eye on these folks and visit again soon.

Small and out of the way but do not let that discourage you. Its an amazing experience
Riaan describes each wine in detail and can tell you how more information and character on each wine than most people know about themselves.
Each wine was amazing in its own right and it is an experience to remember.
