This Great Harvest Bread Co. in Herndon, Ashburn and Vienna is a dream come true - our dream! Our passion for great tasting, nutritious bread, and our desire to run a community-based business, led us to Great Harvest. They have been making great bread for communities across the U.S. for over 30 years.
We start from scratch, every morning, using old-fashioned, natural ingredients like yeast, salt, and honey in our classic whole grain breads. We don't use additives, preservatives, chemicals, dough conditioners, or other ingredients you can't pronounce. And, unlike a lot of bakery products out there, we NEVER add water to a mix or "bake off" frozen product that came in on a truck, ect.
Our signature and most popular bread is a perfect blend of five pure ingredients - freshly ground, flavor-rich, 100% whole wheat flour, pure honey, filtered water, salt, and yeast. Sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame seeds are generously kneaded into our honey whole wheat dough for a crunchy, hearty, and flavourful bread.
If you wish to place a gift box order for (1) person/address please use the "ADD TO CART" Online Order Feature. If you would like to send (2) or more gift boxes you can still use the "ADD TO CART" Online Ordering Feature but you must purchase (1) box at a time. This generous gift box includes 2 of our most popular whole grain loaves, baked with our own fresh ground 100% whole wheat flour!
2. Cut a cross-hatch pattern into the top of the bread by slicing -inch grid lines into the bread, stopping about -inch from the bottom of the bread so that it stays together. Place the bread on the piece of foil that has been sprayed. 4. Gently separate the bread with your fingers, sprinkle the shredded cheese down into the bread.

Phenomenal! Everything we bought (rustic ciabatta, apple scrappy and olive sourdough) was excellent! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!

This is a cute little bakery, their bread is good but their muffins, cinnamon rolls, and other pastries are way too sweet and this is coming from someone with a sweet tooth.

I've been going to this bread store for over 10 years and have tried many of their breads. I have liked everything I've tried. All their breads are fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

I've been coming here since I was a kid and even though I live in Miami now, whenever I'm in town visiting my parents I have to stop in. I love their raisin and walnut sour dough, salted caramel brownies, red/white/blue scones, and soft pretzels. There's so much more that they offer that's equally yummy. Employees are always friendly, everything is scratch made, and they offer samples!

Just called them the other week during business hours, and ended up on their answering machine twice, which is fine as they were probably busy.
So I left a very detailed message, with all my contact information, due to a large order of yeast I wanted to make. I have never heard back from them. That's a sad business attitude in my eyes.
Also - I just bought baked goods to try, and was highly disappointed. As a European, I like my bread baked to perfection, with a crunchy outside. All of the baked goods and breads, from this bakery, were gooey and under baked in the inside.
Nothing crispy on the

Delicious fresh bread, I'm hooked! It's a cozy shop with a nice selection of baked goods with plenty of loaves of bread, muffins, scones, sweet and savory bars, cheese sticks, cookies, etc.

I love the daily rotating menu, there's always something new to try! Thursdays are my favorite with focaccia, closely followed by Tuesdays with Apple Scrapple and Ciabatta rolls! The loaves last around 5 days or so, I'm not the best with twist ties!

Tuscan Herb Focaccia (5/5) - Hands-down my favorite! The scrumptious fluffy bread is bursting with flavor from the herbs. The bread is surprisingly

Really enjoy the different types of bread. Who knew apple scrapple was a thing. Scones, cinnamon rolls, and cookies also very good. I especially like the yeasty flavor and density of the white bread. Makes simple things like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches special.
If you are planning on getting rolls for a holiday meal I suggest placing an order early. They do have a mostly gluten free bread on certain days. I say mostly because bread not made with wheat flour but it is made in bakery that has wheat flour in it.

As a fan of great harvest in the past, I used to try all of their different breads, jams, desserts, etc. After changing my diet however, I now see that they don't offer much in terms of vegan (dairy free, egg wash free, honey free options). The Herndon store said their white bread is vegan, while the Vienna store says it has honey. So rules that out, either that or the staff in different stores are not well informed of the ingredients. The only option I could find was the sourdough which is hard, dry, and not great tasting. It's so dense and hard that I could throw it at someone and knock

Great little bakery in downtown Herndon with various breads and other baked goods. Their cinnamon rolls are sooooooo good... Be sure to check their website for their bake schedule if you're looking for a specific type of bread as they make some types of bread only on certain days of the week. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

I went to the Herndon location today, my first time. Wonderful experience. I left with many treats all equally delicious...huge cinnamon roll, raspberry white chocolate loaf, and red, white, and blue scone. and, everyone was super friendly and helpful. We will be going back.

These girls were really inviting as we walked in. They were super sweet, and straight away encouraged us to try some of their baked goods. After trying their pumpkin, chocolate chip loaf, we couldn't resist taking one away with us. They also packed us a plastic knife, so we could have some along our trip. So cute. The loaf was gone within two days. Soo good.

Great Harvest Bread Co franchises can be found all across the US, and this particular store is sisters with the Burke bakery.

Great Harvest is known to grind spring wheat kernels on a daily basis to make their whole wheat flour, so you know you're getting fresh-baked breads that's literally baked and crafted from scratch! Items that they offer include Honey Whole Wheat, Orange Cranberry, Sunflower Crunch, Focaccia, Tuscan Herb, etc. They also have sweets, such as cookies, scones, muffins, and tea loaves.

I called ahead and placed an order for their Pepperoni Rolls; they're in

Great bread and I love their red white and blue , apple scrapple, garlic feta, and my favorite is plain old fashion white. The scones are amazing too, must try cinnamon roll$3! Everything here are terrific. Wish they were open sundays and prices were cheaper. Minus 1 for that.

Yo, I'd knock over a kid for some apple scrapple. It's just that delicious. Hopefully it never comes to that. Besides all the tasty bread and scones and cookies - the customer service here is always top notch. If I'm ever having a crappy day at work, I know I can pop in here and be greeted with smiles and sunshine and bread. Can more businesses be like this? Really. How hard is it to smile?!? So bread pulls me in, but the smiles keep me coming back.

You will always find friendly service at Great Harvest! Come in for a free slice and try their featured breads for the day!

My favorites: pumpkin chocolate chip loaf, pizza, cheddar...it's a treat to get a loaf for $6-$8. Depending on location.

You can order breads - made to order. Pick them up fresh!

Having been to another location of this bakery, I knew what to expect in terms of (high) prices and offerings. The staff here is slightly better than what I had experienced before in that they weren't as awkward and were more friendly.

We were greeted with free slices of bread which were quite tasty. We ended up buying the cranberry bread; it was the best option that day (Saturday). We also got the red, white, and blue bar which was quite delicious! You could taste all of the individual ingredients.

Bottom line: I will only come back to this location if I am in the area already. It&apos

Do you love bread? I mean really the only people who don't love bread are the ones who have a problem with gluten. Anyway, my husband and I came in to find a good bread to go with our dinner for the evening. We spoke with one of the employees and he led us to the sampling table. We tried honey whole wheat and two other breads. I have to mention the samples they give out are basically whole bread slices. So be prepared for that. Anyway, we left with the sunflower crunch and one cheese stick. My husband was concerned with having too much bread for just the two of us to eat. I reminded him that
