Services
We are a local, family-owned and operated apartment company established in Ithaca in 1967. Each building and apartment is unique, no cookie-cutter floor plans with us. Our properties are located within the City of Ithaca and along the West Shore of Cayuga Lake. Most apartments are within walking distance to Cornell and Collegetown or an easy 5-8 minute drive from Cayuga Lake to either Cornell University or Ithaca College.
West Shore Apartments was born in 1967, more than 50 years ago. But our story begins even earlier, when we were newly arrived in Ithaca from the Binghamton region in New York State's Southern Tier. In approximately 1965, WSA co-founder and co-owner Bob Terry was offered a position at Cornell University.
Nestled next to the Cascadilla gorge behind the Cornell Law School, this 3-story property has a breath-taking view. The location is convenient for walking or riding the bus whether you are headed to Collegetown or Cornell. Did you know this building was designed by an early attendee of Cornell, William Henry Miller?
Each listing has a PRE-RECORDED TOUR within the photo section and a button that allows you to set up a LIVE VIRTUAL or IN-PERSON TOUR at a day & time of your choice. If you have questions, need assistance, or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us. When we receive your submission, we'll reach out personally to learn more about the ideal size and location of the apartment you're looking for.
Do you have laundry on-site? Yes, each property has coin-operated laundry conveniently located in the building or on-site. Is the property close to TCAT / other public transportation? Yes, most properties have TCAT pick-up locations either in front or very close to the property. In addition, some properties also have Ithaca Carshare (a local nonprofit which provides access to cars and transportation).

Wonderful management team. Karla is one of the nicest people you will ever work with; kind, understanding, professional. Responses were always exceedingly prompt. Maintenance requests were always followed-through quickly and thoroughly. I don't have a single negative thing to say for my stay this last school year: 2020 - 2021 (studio apt).

Do not live here.
I lived there last year and had the worst experience. The landlords were not friendly, did not care for us, and honestly just wanted their money. My apartment needed many repairs and refused to do so, frequently had bugs and creatures, mold, and was absolutely filthy when I moved in. Upon exiting, I was charged for "damages" that were noted upon move in. Karla commonly entered with moments to no notice, completely disrespecting our privacy.
I've lived in about 5-6 different apartments in my life, and this is the worst place yet.
Also, when the heat in the living room didn't

I currently live in the building on the corner or East State st and north quarry and absolutely love it here! Karla has been nothing but extremely transparent and helpful for any question we’ve had! Her response time is impeccable, even at later hours in the night! My roommate and I searched through many different apartments and found west shore’s to be the cleanest, friendliest and most affordable. For the location so close to college town and the Ithaca commons, the price is unmatched, especially for the amount of space we have within the apartment! It is extremely peaceful here and we absolutely

Karla and Westshore apartments are awful. On multiple occasions Karla showed up to our apartment without warning to show potential tenants and than complain that we need to clean our apartment. Karla also showed up to my apartment early in the morning on a school day to accuse me of doing illegal things in the apartment. Regardless my roommate and I kept great care of the apartment and ended up receiving very little of our security deposit back, for frivolous reasons such as stains in her already disgusting coaches.

This is a tricky review to write. I lived in one of their properties for a year, and while the apartment was beautiful and my interactions with the landlords were basically friendly, there were a few instances that infuriated me.
First of all, they know they cater to students, so they assume we're all stupid. I understand my rights as a renter. Sending maintenance workers to occupy my home for two weeks without telling me is not alright. Also, THEY WILL NICKLE AND DIME YOU. I understand the purpose of a security deposit, but I also understand that general wear-and-tear will occur over a

Worst experience of my life. The apartment I lived in smelled like a moldy basement not to mention we found mold in our bathroom which could have been potentially hazardous. The walls and windows were not insulated at all which made the utility bills sky-rocket. Not a pleasant experience. There are much better apartments in the area. Please search around or else..
