This is a 50-Minute sit down and opportunity for us to get to know each other. I was referred to John, by a friend. I used to have a moderate, regular workout regimen for 16 years(2000-2016). Then life happened and I completely fell off the "regular fitness regimen " bandwagon. Fours years and thirty additional pounds later, I was in a very bad place by late 2020.
I had also picked up an extremely painful bone spur in my heel. The bone spur was not responding favorably to many months of and many different kinds of interventions. I was deeply anxious and demotivated - the worst I have ever been in my life(I am in my early 50s).

I’m a type 1 diabetic who had really poor blood glucose level control. When my wife and I found out that we were expecting, I wanted to take control of my health and be there for my daughter as she grows up. Since I started working out with John, I’ve lost 20 lbs and my blood glucose levels have been amazing. This may be more relevant for diabetics but my last HbA1c was 5.6, the lowest I’ve ever had in my 22 years of being a diabetic :).

So let me begin by saying I'm not a fitness buff at all. I consider walking my dog my exercise for the day, but I wanted to work on getting stronger and feeling more fit so I started working with John at the recommendation of my friend who also trains with him. John was amazing. He tailored my workouts to my goals and skill level. He was supportive while also pushing me to do my best (even when I thought I couldn't do it). I hired John about a month ago. We did 3 sessions together and everything was going ok at first. But he was very chatty and started trying to flirt with me and the way he tried to demonstrate stuff he was always touching me. I politely asked him to stop because it made me uncomfortable and he stopped for the rest of that day. But next session he was back to touching me again and flirting. He would send me text messages to see how I was doing as well. Definitely going to hire someone else. Ladies beware!

John is a great personal trainer that focuses on his clients specific needs. I started seeing John due to having a herniated disc and he curtailed his training regimen specifically for me. Being able to boost my confidence again to lift weights and "hit the gym" has been a big thing for me due to John's detailed training/workout plan. He first started me with several months of core strength training doing workouts that focused of muscles that we utilize on a daily basis then went into heavier load workouts and so forth. John is as wonderful of a person as is he a fitness trainer and coach. He is easy to talk to, listens to your needs and genuinely cares about each of his clients. He is extremely knowledgeable and offers a very profound perspective on weight loss and fitness journeys. John was my trainer for over 3 years. Many trainers or books can teach you proper form, but John's positive attitude and encouragement are what make him a great trainer. He encouraged me while I trained for a half and full marathon and adjusted my weight training and cross training sessions accordingly. He helped me train for a Tough Mudder. I would go back to him in a heartbeat if I could, but he has given me the tools and confidence to do it on my own.

I have been training with John for over three years. I am a 50+ year old man with multiple dinged up body parts. John always comes up with new and different exercises/lifts to achieve our workout goals, without aggravating my problem areas (ankle, knee, shoulder).
