These guys saved my much-needed day off. I had my original bike plans thwarted so my plan B was to bike elsewhere. Got all the way to the trail for my bike chain to keep falling out, and the gears wouldn't stick.
My regular shop couldnt see the bike for over a week, so I called around. As soon as I called these guys they said they'd take a look at it so I brought it in, and they fixed the issue right then and there. I still get to bike and leaf peep on my day off thanks to this place! Thank you!

Nice local bike shop for both equipment and service. Had bikes tuned up here that had sat in storage for years and looking forward to riding again. Glad this place is in the area.

Place is a joke guy completely messed up my son's brand new bike didn't even tighten nothing, everything was out of alignment then I called to resolve it and the guy gave me attitude over the phone saying it was a cheap bike when clearly nothing was put together properly. Strongly recommend not going there or ever doing business again

I brought my bike tire in to have a flat changed, simple right? I got it changed for $16. I went home put my tire on went for a ride and it went flat again. Brought it back they changed it again commenting on where do I ride anyway for it to go flat again so soon, someplace I've been riding for 2 years, another $16. Went to ride again the tire went flat again. Then I took a closer look at it and it was a piece of glass jammed in the outer tire, which was not pick upon the 2 previous visits and if your truly good at what you do it would have been picked up at the very first tire change. I had a wonderful experience with Jerry at Assabet River! I was lucky to find a beautiful Bianchi C-Sport 1 that Assabet had in stock, went over to test ride it, and purchased it a couple days later. Jerry was very helpful in making sure the bike fit me properly, and never pressured me to make a decision. I could tell I was in good hands.
The shop itself is in a really cool old mill building, and they have a wide selection of bikes even with the difficulties of the pandemic. You get a 10% discount on accessories with the purchase of a new bike, and a free 30-day tune up. I wouldn't hesitate to

Showed up at opening time to fix my et's say attempt to assemble my sons bike. The young man there stopped what he was doing and got my son riding with the hour. Great service and a happy son

Fantastic help, even in quarantine. Stopped by with a gear that kept getting jammed; they instantly took it in and fixed it, as well as a few other minor problems, and charged a way-too-fair rate. I hope my bike breaks again in Hudson so I can visit this shop again.

I needed a new shifter on my 27 speed hybrid and was anxious for a fast turn around. They did it in hours, not days and it came in on the low side of the estimate. The equipment they used functions flawlessly. This is the second time I’ve used Assabet. The first time they replaced worn chain and cranks. Very happy with that job too.

Having dealt with another local bike shop for years and getting less than stellar support, I decided to give Assabet River Bicycles a try. I am beyond happy that I did. I brought Tom a very difficult problem due to poor home mechanic wrenching, involving a stripped, and largely drilled out, hydraulic bleed port in my rear shift lever. Not only was he able to remedy my mistake (got the port out), he diagnosed the reason why I was trying to bleed the brake on a brand new bike (just over a month old) - turns out, the lever was defective. They secured a new lever under warranty, as well as trued my

I just bought my new Bianchi Cortina from Doug and Travis third past Saturday and it was the best retail buying experience I have EVER HAD! Even with all the necessary precautions due to Covid 19, they were super nice, helpful and showed me 3 bikes before I chose the right one for me. I just went back today and had Doug it on a new kick stand and it took him only 5 minutes! I highly recommend them and I will not be going anywhere else!

These guys were great. New to town, and unpacking my bike collection, I found chipmunks had made a home in one of my boxes while I convalesced from an illness over one summer, missing biking that season. One bike shop told me their time would make my project (reassembly and cleaning the bike) cost prohibitive. Their hourly rate was $100/hr and I might as well buy a new bike. Brought my lovely bike here, and these folks said it might be $15 to clean and reassembly would be between $70 & $100. Done! Less than a week later, I was happily ready to ride! Thanks folks, job well done!

My wife has been suggesting I check this place out for a while and I'm glad I did. I needed adjustments to a bike that I had put together and they did it right away, while I waited. What was great is that the mechanic explained what he was doing and why. And the cost was low. I'm definitely coming back for all my bike needs!

I took my rear wheel there to get trued up, right away they noticed I had a spoken spoke. They gave me an estimate for the repair and 2 days later when I picked up the wheel, the cost was less than the estimate! Nice work, great service, I'll be back!

This is an excellent shop with great mechanics. Tom Stevens does quality work and understands racing bikes very well. Carbon, steel, aluminum. He is a real pro. Lots of experience. He welds his own frames, too, BTW.

I like their selection of parts, etc. I race, and have higher end bikes. I think this is a good shop for that kind of service and parts.

Thank you for your recent service of my Cannondale.

Bike busted? Take it here. Chris and Tom stayed open a half hour late to fix my squeaky brakes and bent derailleur hanger. They showed me everything they were doing and explained why... I've never gotten that treatment from an automobile mechanic. I don't have a lot of experience with bike repairs (mostly I've owned cheap bikes and rode them into the ground) but the price seemed reasonable to have my bike work properly and not crash.

After realizing I biked 28 miles yesterday with one of my brakes partially on I went online this morning to look for a bike repair shop that was close by and available for a quick fix. I called and spoke to Chris who said to come on over. The problem was quickly resolved at a very reasonable cost.

I've found the local bike shop I've been looking for!

I was researching for a bike shop that would rent me a bike for a trip down the Assabet River Rail Trail and back again. Unfortunately, my search was fruitless.

However, I quite enjoyed my conversation with the fellow who answered my call at the Assabet River Bicycles shop.

He told me that the closest bike shop that rented bikes was The Bikeway Source in Bedford, and that the Minute Man Trail was quite nice and longer than the currently 5 mile long Assabet River Rail Trail. Perhaps when the trail completes in 2017 (let's not hold our breath here) it'll be worth it for him to consider

Horrible experience with this shop and the owner in particular!

Owner Doug is quite condescending and rude. Shop does not honor quoted time estimates.

I called the shop to confirm they had tubes for my foldable bikes in stock prior to vacation. Was told yes they are in stock and they could replace tubes while I waited. In fact 4 days later was when the bikes were finished. Even then my husband had to take off the front wheels on both bikes as the shop put the wheels on backwards preventing the bikes from fully folding up. The whole point of taking the bikes to the shop was so we wouldn't

First of all I tend to write reviews of a positive nature to reward a business for great service. This is not the case with Assabet River Bicycles who provided unprofessional service. Scenario was to replace bike 3 tubes.

Day 1 - I called shop to check service pricing and to verify they had 20" tubes in stock. Was told yes and to come by as work would performed while I waited.

Day 2 - Dropped off bikes and requested 3 new tubes be installed on two bikes and was told bikes will be ready next day or they will call. I also asked that they save the old tubes, so I could use as spares.

Day 3

I went to this place with very little hope because I was told at Landrys in Westboro that my bike was a goner and that the gear couldn't be replaced. The tall guy there suggested I should donate the bike.
I called my husband and he told me not to donate and get a second opinion.
On a trip to a local restaurant in Hudson I had a chance to stop at ARB and asked the very nice gentlement there if it could be fixed and he said yes!~
Brought the bike a few days later and indeed he was able to change the gear that was bent. My bike is fine now.
Doug was so nice and professional and I am impressed

First of all let me say; the owner knows his stuff, not only brands, and manufactures, but how things will work.

I went to this shop as it was the closest local shop to me. I wanted a fairly basic bike for a photography assignment I was working on, where a car would not be an option. The owner recommended a few bikes for me, some well out of my budgeted price range ($500+) but the owner wasn't upset when I made the bold move of asking him if he knew of any other local shops around, he recommended some to me with a smile, and told me the best move in my case was to shop around.
