At the Marco Polo airport next to Venice Italy, look across the flat runways as you walk off your plane and perhaps you can catch a glimpse of Venice with its brick colored roofs and bell towers shimmering in the distance. You can't see the hills yet but that's where I'm headed and its due north.
My taxi driver finds me, we fit the bike box and bags in the trunk and off we drive to our hotel through a variety of streets and highways that make Los Angeles driving seem simplistic.Eventually, the green hills come into focus and I locate Monte Grappa with its 5,000-ft. Finally, we arrive at our hotel and I am greeted warmly by Anna and Bill Speckman of Your Cycling Italia.

We're located about 90 minutes north of Venice, near the dramatic Monte Grappa and some of the best bike touring routes in the Giro d'Italia and Granfondo's (Cycling Marathon). Day in the Life of a YCI Guest The typical day at YCI starts with a buffet breakfast from 7:00-8:00am. Your bicycle tour starts with three different levels of guided bike rides from 8:00am-1:00pm, and get back to the base hotel for lunch from 1:00-3:00pm.
The YCI's pricing is based on an all inclusive daily rate per person for three star lodging and three meals (with wine or beer at lunch and dinner), guided bike rides, and non-cycling activities. The daily rate for cyclists is 200 euro, including a guided ride each morning and a non-cycling activity each afternoon.
YCI's Italian cycling vacations are based from a family run, three star hotel, pool and spa near Bassano del Grappa in Italy's Veneto region. We've known the proprietors for many years, and they go out of their way to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable on your bicycle vacation. The modern, newly built hotel we use has spacious rooms with one double bed or two single beds.
