The Desota is a beautiful community to call home. So conveniently located, walking distance to all my favorite restaurants and shopping. The luxury amenities that are offered like the top notch gym, parking garage, roof top pool, bike storage and more.... Reno and her staff are amazing!! Couldn't be happier!

Update to my earlier 5 star review. Talk about a stellar remediation after a 4 am fire alarm triggered the sprinklers to go off. The impact this had on over 50 apartments was severe and mine was the top of the list being directly under the apartment that had a fire. Chaos ensued and management was right there working around the clock for many weeks getting things done as quickly as possible. The remediation team and contractors were so professional and did their best to mitigate and noise of dust in the hallways during this time.
I'm happy to say that 7 1/2 weeks later, all the affected

I’ve rented 4 luxury apartments over the last decade in different parts of Florida and the DeSota is a standout! To begin, the amenities are top notch: spectacular clubroom, fitness center and lobby, heated salt water pool and very kind residents. Management works diligently to stay ahead of any issues and is quick to respond to resident’s needs. … The staff works whole heartedly to continue raising the DeSota’s level of excellence. The extensive rules on the lease are appreciated by most of the residents and the management is immediately responsive to all infractions.

While the building is beautiful - the management is super difficult. I put in a maintenance request and nothing happened. Nothing! I called the number for maintenance and they were super unhelpful.
I set up the apartment for my parents and they can't seem to take my name off the Amazon after a year even though we have told them several times.
Very frustrating!

I toured the apartments today with Katherine. The views are to die for! The appliances are new and look great. The apartment itself is very spacious. The view from the balcony and pool is great because it overlooks the water. The layout is beautiful. I will certainly be calling this place my new home!

We LOVE living at The Desota! It feels like you're staying in a resort and the people and staff are so awesome! The views are gorgeous, the amenities are incredible, and you can't beat the downtown location! Looking forward to cooler weather so we can enjoy sunset views and coffee in the morning from our balcony :)

Again, my review of the Desota has not changed. Maintenance is non existent. You have to call and email at least 3-4 times before a response and they also increase parking from $100 a month to $150. What? This is Sarasota FL not Miami or LA or NYC or Boston. $150?! This place is crazily overpriced and poorly managed. Other apartments have 24-48 turnaround maintenance and this place has 3 months if you are lucky.

Unhygienic Health HAZARD. This happens all the time. unleashed dogs .....this unleashed large dog runs wild at the pool. These are from today May 28, 2018. I didn't get the pic of this animal in the pool.... but our group all decided to forgo memorial day outside and remain in the clubhouse while this dog ran free and its owners made out in the pool. Classy place. if you want an apartment with large unsupervised, unleashed dogs roaming free and a pool full of dog hair and who knows what else.....the Desota is for you!!!

This apartment complex is beautiful and has all the amenities one would ever need. We love that it's dog friendly, and not just for little dogs but also for our old big guy. The staff is so so so friendly and very very helpful. The location couldn't be better as it's right across from whole foods and all the cute little boutiques and restaurants you could want. I have normally always lived in a house and was weary about moving into a high-rise apartment but I feel like this is a great choice.
