The World Instructor Training Schools took the national stage in 1993 to change the fitness industry. The lack of hands on training left personal trainers and other fitness professionals struggling to make a living. W.I.T.S. is the only certification group to have college credits in 4 certifications.
What is the NCCA? NCCA stands for National Commission for Certifying Agencies. Established in 1987 by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, the NCCA is an independent, non-governmental agency that sets the standard for professional certification programs via NCCA accreditation. Their focus is to ensure programs follow the health, welfare, and safety standards to provide quality programs to the public.

The original training was tough and a lot of information but the instructors made sure that you had knowledge needed to succeed.
The continuing education offered is fabulous. There is so much to choose from and the presenters are probably all over qualified. They make it interesting and you will learn what you need to know.

I took my Personal Trainer Certification course with W.I.T.S. about 8 years ago as natural progression of my interest in fitness. My plan was to train on a part-time basis as a supplement to my full time job, and my results exceeded my goals! This personal training certification program was a great experience for me. The teachers were fantastic! They made the material easy to comprehend and were just very fun, cool people... So if you happen to get Mark as your virtual lecture teacher or Terri (I absolutely loveee her) as your practical lab teacher in Virginia Beach consider yourself lucky! And speaking of practical labs, you will not find that learning experience with any other certification program. Getting my personal trainer certification with WITS was fine, it's maintaining it, that's a huge problem. Their customer service is horrible. They don't return calls, or reply to emails, and it's not just a pandemic issue like they claim. I have been certified with them since 2003, and it gets more stressful with every renewal.
They change their credit requirements, and don't email a notification to you. You are expected to figure it out on your own, by reading their newsletter, or checking their website. They send you all of the information you need for your next renewal, when they mail you
