Rochester School Of Fitness
A little orange gym in East Rochester, NY dedicated to helping people of all ages meet their fitness goals through exercise and education - to become stronger, healthier and happier. The Rochester School of Fitness was founded by exercise specialist Mido Zelenjakovic and pediatrician Cathy Hahn in 2006.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive fitness programming for people of all ages and physical abilities, addressing the key roles that nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices play in achieving a positive self-image and overall wellness. Rochester School of Fitness is not a health club. There are no rows of cardio machines with TVs or bulked up trainers roaming the floor.
Services
Mido lives and breathes fitness every day. As a former professional European volleyball player, he has the drive and determination of a true athlete. Having held coaching positions in both Europe and the US, Mido knows what it takes to encourage and motivate, and strives to be an agent of permanent, positive change.
Functional workouts are personalized to suit any age and fitness level. We'll use light medicine balls, resistance tubing, and various floor exercises to increase strength, balance, and flexibility. But a fitness regime alone isn't enough to fully realize any fitness goal. At RSF, we'll help you identify and understand why some of your current behaviors and lifestyle choices may be working against you.
Good flexibility not only provides many physical fitness benefits but also has a positive effect on your overall health and well-being. The term "flexibility" means the ability of your body to bend or adapt to changing forces and fast movements. Flexibility exercises are an important component of any strength training program.
Poor eating habits coupled with a sedentary lifestyle can lead to obesity, which is associated with a significant number of health risks as well as psychological and emotional issues. Individualized nutritional coaching can get you on track. Together we will set a realistic and obtainable goal and identify the eating behaviors that work against you.
The latest research shows that regular physical activity is linked to increased life expectancy after a diagnosis of cancer, and in some cases can decrease the risk of cancer recurrence. ReNew is our own specialized program that is customized to the needs of each participant and provides insight into diet and nutrition, as well as increasing strength and flexibility.

Mido takes care of both personal fitness and diet. He guided me really well and helped me reduce my weight from 286 lbs to 230 lbs in 4 months and I am on track to get to regular weight in another 4 months.

When our son was 9 our pediatrician told us that he was tracking towards obesity. We could see he was a little chubby but assumed it was just baby fat. Unfortunately, the only advice the pediatrician gave us was to draw a pie chart explaining USDA food recommendations. This was not only insulting but useless. Needless to say, we left her practice. But our next pediatrician didn’t have much more to offer besides suggesting different sports our son might explore.
