Lived here for about 2 years. Staff was always nice and friendly to me and is in a safe and military friendly area. My only two issues was with the dryer breaking 3 times in the span of two months and I was without a dryer for about two weeks which was annoying. Last issue was with neighbors who smoked 24/7 because this is not a smoke free apartment.

We leased here for about a year and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Not JUST because of the women who work in the front office but they are part of the reason. It seems that it’s an inconvenience to them to answer any questions you may have, expect some attitude as well. :) To add on, trash bins are always overflowing. The borders along the windows have mold (which they will probably paint over). The cold water in one of the bathroom sinks didn’t work. Shanna in the leasing office, apartment manager is truly amazing. She went above and beyond with her customer service and made me feel very welcome. The rental process was quick and easy. The apartment has everything I need and more including a full washer and dryer with a private patio. Pet friendly. Stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors in living areas, with lots of natural lighting. Lots of parking. Near plenty of shopping with easy access to freeway.

Leased an apartment at this complex for about two years, Shanna and maintenance staff was great and quick to solve any issue in our unit until I started dealing with Dawn. Every question I asked was too confusing and went unanswered. I ended my lease 4/26/2021 and got a call 5/26/2021 asking to turn in my keys since my lease was ending and was told it was miscommunication on my part. Called multiple times for my last utility bill for months and wasn’t able to get help. I've heard from one of my colleagues who rented at this establishment that their level of professionalism are less than admirable. They have mishandled their paperwork, claimed that their tenants are providing falls claims upon leaving after completion of lease and would not return my colleagues security deposit. On one of her phone calls, she was rudely hanged up by one of their employees (DAWN) after responding "I don't want to argue with you" to her. Notifying all to be aware and sharp headed when leaving a deposit at Sommerset Apartment that Dawn the apartment manager in the office doesn't encourage and persuades you she will talk to someone from corporate that your income is enough to pass the application income guidelines. I left a deposit of $500 to secure a unit two weeks ago and my application was denied after two days of my deposit due to my income amount and now refuses to return my depost. Will let a judge from small claims court determine the outcome. Be aware of Dawns sneaky tactics and not fall for her smiles.

We moved in about 5 months ago and have encountered multiple problems, our toilet has flooded 3 times! It flooded into our carpeted bedroom and also into the living room. when asked about the water damage done to the carpet we were told it would dry! We had to demand something be done for the carpet. When we called to ask for assistance the 2nd time it flooded, they assumed we were stuffing diapers down the toilet. My family and I moved in around February 2021. Right when we moved in we had to call for maintenance multiple times for different reasons. One of the first reasons was that the hot water wasn't working. Then one of the locks for our main door was broken. Would not recommend this place. Location is awful. Right next to a busy road. You can hear everything from people talking and cars driving by. You can find other places way more affordable. When I did renew my contract the rent went up by $300. Hence why I wanted to leave. For how much you're paying it is not worth it. Also get alot of weird people walking through the parking lot looking for things to steal.

Very outdated for the price. For a two bedroom rent is $1700 then water, sewage, and trash are about an EXTRA $100 because it is NOT INCLUDED in rent. The trash bill comes to $28 a month and are ALWAYS full of trash and they're not a convenient distance away from all of the units. This apartment is beautiful but expensive! And management doesn't care if you don't have working amenities....in Vacaville it was over 90 degrees and I had no working A/C and they barely did anything. My service animal was struggling to stay cool and I had to fight for even a portable fan. Over a week with no A/C and they refused me for a 7 days rent deduction!! They told me A/C wasn't a basic amenity so they weren't required to deduct me the days without it.

This is not the place to live they will not return your deposit even after you clean up and down. I lived here less than a year and they tacked on so many charges. Be sure to document your move in verses your move up, because that apartment was left very clean. They had the nerve to say that I owed them money. The office staff is nice until you move in . This was a huge mistake moving in Sommerset. Don't fall for the fake façade , because the charge you an extreme amount on your water bill and upon my move out the bill got even higher. Be careful when leaving they will rip you off when you moved out....we left our apartment like it's moved in ready not a single pen marks on the walls, bathroom is spotless, we did not hang anything on the walls because our stay here is only temporary and yet we were charged for carpet cleaning, paint, cleaning charges that cost atleast $450. It's the law that apartment owners should be responsible for the minor wear and tear we took care of the apartment really good because we've read the reviews about how they charged tenants with ridiculous fees when moving out. BEWARE!!!!!!!

The Sommerset Apartments are a great place to live in Vacaville. The complex is well maintained, and always looks nice, like a place you'd be proud to call home. The apartments are well appointed, and it's a quiet complex with pleasant neighbors. The staff makes sure this is a nice place to live.

Nice area with terrible security. My car had gotten broken into and the dirtbags actually were successful with stealing some stuff out of it. Mangers NEVER called me back or apologized for the incident. Cars continue to get broken into a month after even with "security patrolling the area." People want to feel safe when they come home and I do not. That's not okay.

The apartment was decent and I could get over the price as this is California, but the staff really ripped us off upon move out. I took very good care of my apartment for the year and a half I was there and had my apartment professionally cleaned at the end and they still charged an arm and a leg for cleaning among other BS reasons during the final inspection. They kept the whole deposit and charged much much more threatening to file a legal claim for the rest unless I paid it. I left very dis-satisfied with this place.

For the rent being the highest in town, you'd think you'd get your money's worth. Cheap appliances, defiantly not granite counter tops, but a cheap easy peel away laminate. Single pane Windows, terrible carpets, and zero storage space. Quick talk to law enforcement and you'll discover that this apartment complex has the second highest theft rate from car break ins. (We've had our car broken into, and theft from our apartment all within six months)
There are wild cats that roam the apartments full of fleas, so if you have any animals it will be a constant battle with infestations

I just signed the lease for my Third year here. This is a beautiful complex. My apartment has all new appliances, granite counter tops, a full sized washer and dryer,and a nice sized porch with storage. The Staff is extremely nice, and maintenance takes care of any problems pretty fast. The garbage disposals are crappy. They break down and have to be changed out, but when you do call, it's fixed within a day or two. The prices are a bit high, but if you want to be in a beautiful place with a nice gym and pool, it is worth it. :-) Love my Home!!

I lived in Sommerset for a good 6 or 7 years and I feel it was a lot better when I first moved in. The reason why we chose Sommerset was because it was a decent priced place and it wasn't trying to compete with the 'higher end' complex.
Then of course they had to upgrade which I understand, business is business but after that things didn't feel quite the same. They changed management and they weren't as resident happy as the previous ones.

This place is pretty nice. I lived here for about a year and a half and must say I enjoyed my stay. Laundry is 24 hours, the landscaping is mostly beautiful, and the staff is so nice! The only reason this didn't yank five stars is because the garbage disposals are useless, and often break. Also, some of the neighbors are very loud at odd hours of the night (1-3am). I drove by recently and it looks like they added washer and dryer units to some of the apartments, I'm jealous. x3 I would recommend living here, I never had any major problems.
