Oh man, super disappointed in the quality of the cupcakes. The cakes were hard and dry. The icing was too thick. I feel like this cupcakes were made days ago. Not fresh at all, not even close. We took one bite and threw them out! :(

Customer service at this place is nonexistent. The employee clearly did not want to be there and had a nasty attitude. Every time I selected a item she would say Anything else, anything else, anything else and she walked away before twice before I was finished ordering.
I’m giving it two stars because I’m huge on customer service

I bought the cake roll yesterday for a birthday gift. The icing was so thick you could not even find the cake. Why mess with recipes? Why change what was working? I’ve bought this cake for years now I will not. If I wanted a just icing cake I would have bought a container of icing. Also, what happened to the traditional birthday cakes you used to carry? With beautiful red flowers with green leaves? Now, you walk in and you feel like you’ve walked into the set of a baking competition show - so much glitz and glamour… sometimes you want simple.. I guess simple and traditions are gone from Dewey’s

All though their cakes are delicious it difficult to go inside the store because some of their employees are so rude. I went to order a cake and the employees seemed upset that they had to deal with me. Maybe it was a busy time and they were stressed but I would treat a customer with respect and kindness.

NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM DEWEY’S BAKERY! I made a $68 mail order to be sent to a Massachusetts address. I live in Winston Salem, NC. The order was sent to ME in North Carolina!! I called them and a recording said that they could get back yo me in possibly three days! These were perishable baked goods. I also filled out an online form to them explaining their mix up. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM!! A $68 dollar gift wasted, because I can not eat it, due to health concerns. I called another company to send fruit. What a bunch of DUMMIES!

Great bakery and gift shop, all things Winston and North Carolina. Moravian baked goods, cakes (pieces by the square - they're all delicious but get pink lemonade if you can't decide), ice cream, cookies. So many nice gift ideas, too.

They have the best cake in a cup! My favorite is pink lemonade. I don't live near by but wanted a birthday cake from here, they had pre-made birthday cakes available to buy. I was very pleased with it it's taste and presentation!

Dewey's has history in the Winston-Salem area which is the reason why we visited it on our way through the city. However, after visiting the bakery this past weekend, I will say that the baked goods are just OK. We had the strawberry, lemonade, yellow (chocolate icing) and red velvet cakes and the cake itself didn't have much flavor. The icing had nice flavor. The cherry turnover was a nice size but was also just OK. I prefer a flaky crust with more cherry and less jelly. Through the years I have had Dewey's a few times on different occasions but wasn't impressed with the flavor of their baked

I was excited to share Winston-Salem's famous Moravian cookies with a friend, so I bought one of their $28 gift tins which has like 100+ cookies in it. It ended up being an embarassing gift when my friend opened it to see a container full of broken thin cookies. Anyways, they're nice to munch on, but it was disappointing and felt like a waste of money.
