The Baklava Lady
We are currently offering e-gift cards for sale! Get one for yourself, friends, or family, and it will be good for future purchases at The Baklava Lady Cafe & Bakery. Baklava is a rich, sweet dessert pastry made of layers of filo dough, filled with chopped nuts and sweetened and held together with syrup.

Although it's history is not well documented, it's current form was likely developed in the kitchens of Istanbul's Topkapi Palace. Everything we serve is made to order from 100% vegan ingredients. That means no dairy or honey is used during the creation of any of my delicious desserts or dishes. Why?

Got this haul of deliciousness on Friday and enjoyed it all weekend long! In addition to the amazing food, the pistachio latte was sooo good. It was our first time at the cafe and it has a great vibe - can’t wait to eat inside in the future. We will definitely be back!

I've been here four or fives times now and honestly was a gem of a place.

I am not vegan and in the past have thought anything vegan was green and tasteless. Boy have I been learning over the last two yeara that I am an ignorant person! I have slowly shifted towards having less meat in my diet and grinding great places like this one. Everything here is absolutely delicious and they are extremely nice.

I would recommend this place a thousand times.

This is a really great little cafe. I didn't realize until halfway through the meal that this was a vegan restaurant. The "butter" and "cheese" are really convincing and leave nothing to be desired. I got the Turkish Breakfast Board, it was a very nice meal. The sesame bread was incredible, fresh, warm, and so satisfying. I'm excited to go back here and try more things!

I visited The Baklava Lady earlier this fall, and had a lovely brunch at one of their outdoor tables. I'd been following them on Instagram for a long time, wanting to eat everything they posted and eagerly awaiting the day we could finally make the drive out there for their vegan Turkish food. Our meal there surpassed all my expectations, and it's just an excellent restaurant, whether you're vegan or not.

Everything was fantastic, and if you didn't know that they were vegan, you might not even be able to tell the difference. The sausage, egg, and cheese borek made good use

The Baklava Lady is one of my favorite local restaurants and bakery- it is always a wonderful treat when I have the chance to order both lunch and a dessert! I have gone to the restaurant two times in the last couple of weeks (and I've also ordered many times before), so this will be cumulative review. When I ordered a couple of weeks ago, I was very excited to try the Black Friday sandwich, especially since I missed out last year when they had it on the menu. It was worth the wait! There were so many textures and flavors layered with all of the ingredients, and it was truly Thanksgiving in

Are you a coffee lover, then it will be really worth your visit and try their Turkish coffee. It is fantastic. My favorite item on their menus is their delicious avocado toast with the pomegranate toppings. Last but not least, try the baklava. Excellent service and hospitality. Best for breakfast/brunch.

Great selection of baked goodies, coffees, and meals! The baklava is some of the best we have had (and we travel a lot!)! The orange blossom Semolina cakes is just wow- full of pure delicious fresh flavor.
The desserts are creative and there is so much love that goes into the taste and look. The environment is so pleasant and it feels like your in a little cafe in turkey. What a great vibe & the owner is sweet and so welcoming. This spot is a great find and we can't wait to try the rest of the goods and foods!

Ventured out to Englishtown today for brunch. An hour drive seems like a lot for baklava right? Even if it's vegan. But it was WELL WORTH IT because "The Baklava Lady" is more than just baklava.

Aside from the turkish coffee everything we ordered was phenomenal-- from ambiance to food, just great! Not knowing what turkish coffee was, my partner ordered one and couldn't drink it because it was more like coffee sludge than coffee. Meh, now we know.

We got (2) walnut baklava which typically isn't my favorite and was a bit dry as I suspected it would be but they were out

A hidden gem in central NJ. This is such a cute place run by an amazing lady. Yes, it’s all vegan but you’d never know from the desserts. They are amazing. The Turkish pistachio coffee is to die for.

Everything I've tried here has been fantastic and everyone who works there is so helpful and nice. The pastries are delicious. They make an unreasonably good avocado toast. The rosewater lemonade is super good. If I could give them more than five stars I would.

Nice atmosphere- we went for desserts and coffee. Had some Turkish pistachio coffee and the brown sugar latte special. Was not wild about the Turkish coffee but I think that is just preference. The desserts were all tasty: fig crumb, baklava and a raspberry cake. Service was friendly and decor was cozy. Will definitely return for some entrees.

Not a bad place. I went in this place and a cannoli, and it was super good. However, the place has very limited hours and you can never really tell when it's open because of the blinders on the windows. I would recommend going here though if you want good baking. Highly recommend

Love the food here!! It's hard to believe that the whole menu is 100% vegan, and you wouldn't even realize it. Even dishes like baklava (which typically require butter to get that wonderful flakiness) is vegan and still tastes fantastic, and I'm constantly impressed with this restaurant's creativity.

Every dish I've tried here is bursting with bold flavors. Some of my top favorites:
- Kofte wrap: this dish is my favorite; it's packed full of ingredients and although you might find it hard to pick up everything for one bite, it's so good altogether!! The sauce

July 2020, during the pandemic, my husband brought home some goodies from The Baklava Lady. We have had her baklava in the past and have been dying to try her savory Turkish food since she opened her 100 % vegan cafe in Englishtown, NJ. So happy that we finally had the chance.

We had tahini rolls, kofte, menemen and baklava. Everything was so delicious!! My husband called ahead and ordered curbside delivery. He got there earlier than expected, but they were able to accommodate him. The customer service was excellent as was the food.

Wow!! This food is out of this world and I couldnt believe it was all vegan on top of it. Having been to Turkey 3 times and having home.cooked Turkish food at home, I couldn't believe how good this food tasted with no meat products!

I actually told my husband and mother in law that it actually tasted much better than the real deal. The owner is super sweet and her business looks family run.

The atmosphere is super relaxing and homey. Definitely could spend a couple of hours here chatting with a friend.

As for my entree, the menemen made with scrambled tofu was full of flavor and texture
