Sipos Bakery
Walnut Beigli [BAY-glee] is a traditional Hungarian sweet bread prepared with a delicious walnut filling. It is also available with poppy seed filling. Sipos Bakery originally opened its doors nearly a half-of-century ago serving the Hungarian, Polish, and other European decants population of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The original owner George Sipos sold his famous bakery to two life long bakers that where eager to continue serving the traditional baked goods thousands of people stood in line for each holiday season.

So far the hungarian cookies are terrible supposed to be thin with a cream cheese dough very thick no flavor havent tried the other items yet but very disappointed in the cookie especially for the price of $14.99 a pound would not mind if they were good

I visited the store on Tuesday and bought at least a dozen of their small cake pieces and some cupcakes. For a bakery that has good reviews, I was hoping to have fresh tasty sweets. NONE of the small cake pieces were fresh. They were all so stale no one was able to eat them and their tiramisu ones were spongy. Definately disappointed considering that I paid a lot of money and bought them for a family dinner. I wish I could go back and ask for a refund cause they ended up throwing them out.

Went early thus morning placed my bread order. Noticed they make sandwiches, when I asked for it the girl rolled her eyes so hard. I was like nevermind! Such bad work ethics. So very disrespectful. I said nevermind. The other girl was like it's ok we can make it. I was like no thank you! How do you treat customers like that?

Best rye bread in the universe. I always buy extra to eat in the parking lot. I also love the walnut nutroll (beigli) and Hungarian cookies (apricot & walnut kifli).

I stopped by for a tres leches cake slice and a custard filled donut!
My only nit pick I wish the tres leches was saturated with larger amount of milks but the taste and consistency is perfect! It’s hard to find these tasty treats so I travel here for them!
The donut so thicc! Like a big honking dessert meal !! If you eat two, get ready to take a sugar nap 😁

They sold us a rancid cake that ruined my niece's 11th birthday. It was such a shame. Few family members even vomited. Stay away from this place at all cost. Not worth it at all.

My grandfather used to come here almost every Sunday to get rye bread. It was our family's go to place especially for holidays. Living across the street on a cold snowy winter morning smelling the fresh baking bread gave me such a warm feeling. Me and my kids still pop in once in a while to buy goodies..

Cakes are dry and have a weird after taste, cookies were basically flavorless and salty. I won't be coming back.

If I could give this bakery zero stars I would..I received a cake for my birthday from there. It was truly disgusting. I was extremely surprised. I love to support local businesses but, even their cupcakes taste awful. Beware of a large bakery that IS ALWAYS EMPTY...

I have heard about this place for a long time so I finally decided to try it while I was in the area. If you are going to get rolls stick wit the seeded hard rolls, the other rolls I did not care for the taste at all. I tried two different rye breads, one with seeds and one without, while I like seeds there was way to much in their's so I would stick with the seedless. There cakes were the big disappointment. They was nit much taste to them and they were expensive. I may go back to try there other items, but definitely will avoid a few things next time.

I've recently gotten in to the habit of buying cookies and boxes of assorted pastries, to give out as gifts, to my customers at Sipos. I also grab Bagles, horns and doughnuts for the people in my office, that support me. Both my customers and my support team deserve more than the chain store donuts. I've also enjoyed their egg sandwiches and deli sandwiches (with a cup of freshly brewed coffee) from time to time. I've always received exemplify service and the product has always been fresh and reasonably priced.

It's nice to walk in to a business to spend money and not be

I had a cupcake from Sipos not too long ago and if I ever have another one it would be because the apocalypse is upon us and the only food available are Sipos dry and tasteless cupcakes. I cannot comment on Sipos other baked goods because I have never tried them I can only comment on the awful cupcake it had. It was dry dry dry and dry also horrendously bad.

Hi my husband purchased 4 slices of what should've been Dominican cake with pineapple on Sunday. Something I have had a craving for for 2 months this pregnancy. It was horrible to say the least. I cannot believe what was sold to him was passed off as Dominican cake. And that was supposed to be for my 25th birthday. He's Italian and does not eat Dominican cake nor grew up on it so he didn't know better just by looking at the consistency. Me on the other hand, is Dominican and had always had my grandmother purchase a Dominican cake with pineapple for my birthday since I was a child
